The best thing about his design is that he looks nothing like a frog apart from him being green.

Probably with on how sporadic and violent he can be you can't really know what he's going to do not to mention he's strong and fast af so I can understand with you about being afraid of him
His speed (and violence) makes you really go into fight or flight mode. Sorta like how humans aren't afraid of slow moving ants but are afraid of cockroaches
Mr Frog is a parody of borderline psychotic celebrities who are tolerated by the mainstream despite their heavily antisocial behaviour for that one characteristic that makes them successful - I completely understand being afraid
I think it’s the same principle as Homelander from The Boys; he’s more than capable of turning you inside out in two seconds flat but also massively unpredictable so him merely being in the room makes things tense and uneasy.
