Really appreciate how wide your drone reviews are so everyone gets a chance to see all the options out there. Your practical footage of actual drone use is so valuable over cherry picked footage some other channels do.
Thank you!
Yes .. I believe Steve is covering ever single drone landing in the market staring from A-Z and that’s appreciated b/c anyone looking for a model it’s likely 99.9% he or she will find a stunning well produced review about it here in his channel.
Thanks for the video, Captain Drone. You made it easy for me to decide on buying this drone the HS730R. I just received mine over the weekend and took it on its Maiden flight this morning. I can tell you it flies very nice. Easy to setup, good remote response and very quiet. I still have to try all the flight modes, but I am very happy with what I saw this far and am looking forward to collecting nice memories with it. I was surprised to see how return to home was almost on the spot, less than a foot of where it took off from. I would recommend this drone for any newbies out there. In addition, Holystone customer service is very fast to respond and helpful as well. I asked for the Remote ID Device, and it got delivered within 3 days. That was a nice surprise as well. The camera is really good, nice resolution on both stills and video out of the box. Thanks again for the video and please keep up the good work/reviews.
Thanks for sharing
Good lord Steve!! What a beautifully produced video review. Thank you so much! Just fantastic.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So I bought a holystone drone... I think it was the model before this one. It quit working after three flights so I returned it to Amazon and left a review telling the truth. Then I get an email from someone from Holystone offering me a new drone for free if I updated my review to 5 star LOL. No more Holystones for me
Awesome camera shots. Really clear and bright
Hi captain. So good to see you doing a camera drone review again. I've really missed them. Know your review all thing on the rc hobby which is great. I started in the drone hobby after getting addicted to the captain drone channel. All the best to you.

More drone reviews are coming
That's not a bad camera on that drone Steve. Awesome review as always. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Thanks CD! Great review as always!
Thanks again!
Thanks Captain!... excellent review.
Excellent tutorial review video. Thank you Steve.
Glad it was helpful!
awsome review steve.
Looks like a good beginner drone flight wise but the picture quality leaves much to be desired. I believe the DJI mini SE is a similar price with a much better camera. Good review Steve.
Watching at 7am from the Philippines🙏🏻👍❤️
I like how nice and friendly the cricket player was. That's how classy looks.
Yes, very friendly and accommodating
We don't have cricket matches here... but we also don't have fields where you can fly these. Always amazed by these places you find to fly. There is nowhere within 2 or 3 hours of our home where we could fly.
Thanks Cpt. Drone!
Seems decent for the money. Thanks Capt Drone!
I just started importing this drones . Great video .
Good afternoon captain really nice drone cool review
Thanks 👍
The explanation Steve give is always welcome. Most of the time others youtuber try to make the drone good is the opposite. Steve is honest if the drone is good you will know or is bad he will tell you
Thanks, I do appreciate that.
I have the HS720E it's a good drone but distance sucks. I just bought a DJI MINI 2 but I can't fly it due to restrictions!! So I want to go baco to HS but question, what is the max distance??
Fab video, thank you Steve
I fly my drones for recreational purposes and I am really impressed with the video and photo quality especially for the price range.
The video quality is surprisingly good for this price range.
Getting ready to Buy the 720R and I'm thankful for finding your Channel and video . I have seen a few that have had a Lot of Problems with this Drone and I'm thinking they were Calibrating to close to their cars or a metal objects/structures.. you Have a honest and great Video review..
Thanks. If anyone does do a poor compass calibration they will probably end up with a strange flight. It is always best to launch and then be ready to land (hold left joystick down) at the first sign of trouble.
this is a good drone for beginners, brazil watch you and like you content
I appreciate that!
Fun video! 😃
Fine review !
Thank you 🤗
Hi I got this drone as a gift. Seems like a good drone and plan to take it along with me on my bicycle ride across the country.
Could u do a review on dji mavic air I know it is old but plz
Great stuff my man. My first drone was some holystone thing. They are fine to get a taste, would be real good if they improved the camera.
😎 thx that You are finally back in Drone reviews... especially low budget ones... because I need 2 or 3 for South Africa and now I need 2 figure out what Drone, if I can get it in ZA or I need 2 buy in Germany... of course I prefer 2 buy it in ZA if they are available there... still think about the EX 5 pro because of the weight and less regulations...
C-Fly Faith Mini is probably the best sub $200 under 250 grams.
I myself like the SG108 Pro if it's less than $140 (Geekbuying) But it weighs 270 grams. Make sure it is the Pro with 2-axis gimbal and SD card slot!
The L800 isn't bad. But also over 250 grams.
Excellent Review
Thank you kindly!
Been waiting for this review Captain! I want to see if there’s a great improvement on Camera. But it seems there’s a little improvement compared to 720E, there’s still the weird Greenish hue. Thanks Captain!
A decent video editing software like DaVinci Resolve can do a lot in terms of color correction
Totally would get this one if I didn't have a Mini 3 Pro which I acquired on Amazon Prime Day . Holystone has excellent customer service and support.
....they do?
Id like to see a battery analysis. What BM circurity does it have etc.
For 399 that's getting into the price of entry level DJI drones.......me myself would probably go with the DJI but you wont have any of the features so it is a catch 22 on what you want to do. Another great video Steve!
Like it capt
Great review as always. Since these kinds of lower cost drones appeal to beginners in the US who may be newly entering the hobby, it is probably worth mentioning if they comply with the US Remote ID requirements in order to fly outside of a FRIA zone (of which there are painfully few). Thankfully the FAA has extended a grace period until March 16 2024 to gain compliance, but inexpensive drones often are not upgradable by the manufacturer and thus require an addition Remote ID transmitter will need to be purchased ( ~$100). I don’t know about this particular model, but a mention for each >249g drone would be helpful!
This one is remote ID compatible (as shown on the website at the link)
Its a nice drone ....
Another quality review Steve. Nice drone but can't see much difference between the 720R and my 720G.
That's what I asked. R stands for range maybe? I know the initial 720g had lower range but I thought they improved that on the latest models
Hi Steve GreatVideo Holystone has been arounf for a while, but anyway I know you can't review everything but I have a request, The Darwin Johnny5 quad, Thank you
I just saw your reviews. This is new to me, I would like to get one to film over the ocean and near waves. Any videos/ reviews or links you can recommend?
Pleased review on the wakera t210. I have only see bad vids not good qualities yours are very educational.
I learned to Fly on HollyStone HS170 Mirco Drone, an then bought the HS 700D but the 700D Range wasn’t Good but HollyStone Makes Very Good Drones. I would’ve liked to Seen a Flight Distance Test in your Review of the HS 700R to see if the Distance has really improved compared to the HS 700 D
......and of course it weighs 389g , which is quite heavy for a beginner wanting to start out the hobby without registration, licensing etc ,( depending on the country of course), I agree the price point is head on with the DJI SE , if not more money. These Holystones are usually rebadged MJXs which can be sourced at half the price ( no warranty to speak of however - that's the chance you take)
Hi Steve My friend 👋😀. Wow thank you so very much for showing another great drone and review.💯👍.
I really enjoy your videos drones, planes. But drones I enjoy greatly.
This is a great drone. Excellent video and photo quality 💯😁. Great flight time and great range.. The follow me works great.
Thank you so very much for sharing this wonderful video and God bless you and your family always 🙏.
Have a great week everyone
Glad you enjoyed it
I have put my 720g through hell learning to fly. It’s had some horrible crashes and spazzing out on the ground sucking in dirt and mud. Fast fwd and that same drone still flys like a beast. Just bought the 720R and haven’t opened it yet. Somehow ended up with 4 extra batteries also. HS doesn’t feel entry level. What feels entry level is the no name ones with no gps I had before. DJI is around the corner
Please review the new CFLY Faith 2 PRO.
Nice review seams Holystone fixed it’s issue with this model….there are earlier reviews with fly away and connecting issues… only issues I have with holystone if you have a mishap with your drone … parts availability seem non existent so far with HS720G in my case… still in communication with customer service hopefully they can send me a parts availability list and price
I know I know I'm getting on your nerves but the fimi x8 pro is on banggood just can't wait for you to give us some update on it but love all your videos cap. Hopefully you seen it by now
I purchased mine for Christmas and it has RFID internal to the drone. November 1, 2013 is the date they added RFID.
Claims to be Remote ID compliant which is a (delayed) issue for USA use over 250g or any weight for part 107 users. Adds value since add-on modules have are apparently short supply and/or still expensive.
Looks pretty good for the $ and doesn't have the erroneous DJI geofencing/duplicated FAA authorization!
Sorry, I failed to mention that I was even considering something from holy stone. I just couldn’t pick which one.. but I will take your recommendation
Ola. Fantastico conteúdo.
Nice bro
The horizon was definitely crooked the whole time. What's the difference between this and the 720g though
Hey Steve, do the review on new potensic atom .Definitely make a good review
It is coming.. eventually
Big fan from india
Punkhawallah? 🤔😜😁
What aftermarket remote/radio works with this drone
I really do wish that manufacturers were required to state that longer ranges do not eliminate the Line-of-sight rules, but do reduce the amount of interference within those limits.
I just purchased a HS720 and I want to know if the HS720R would be the next step up in the Holystone drone lineup.
I love taking great-quality videos and pictures, thanks.
Yes the HS720R is their top current model I believe
This drone is already approved for Remote ID, so that great. I hunted down a Fimi X8 Pro, and didn't think much about the Remote ID, for it advertised that it had it. Well, it has Remote ID, but the FAA hasn't passed DoC on it yet. Hopefully, by the new March dead line it's approved. 🤦♂️ Otherwise, im having a lot of fun with the Fimi X8 Pro.
The follow me function seems somewhat jerky. The video quality is more than enough but I have to ask, why even shoot in 4K when most people are going to be viewing their work on a cell phone or iPad. Having said that, I watched this video on a 4K monitor at CZcams 4K resolution. Because of the price, would this be the perfect drone for a beginner or should the DJI Mini 4 be on top of the list? It seems that if they are taken care of, that DJI drones will last at least 3 to 4 (maybe more) seasons. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work!
from John Rohrer
Houston, Texas
If you can afford a DJI mini 4 then that is the preferred drone. This drone is for people who can’t afford the DJI mini 4 pro.
Bonjour limage semble meilleure que sur le potensic atom qui vient de sortir a cardan trois axes le remplaçant du se,je n'ai pas vue du bégaiement sur les imges en 4 k le debit doit etre bon.bonne vidéo mon capitaine 😅
Hey great video what type of phone are you using and do you know if there's a web site where I can find out if my phone is compatible with it looking to purchase my first ever drone
Simply download the App. If you can & it installs then your phone is probably compatible. These drones all require that your phone has wifi that talks at 802.11ac. (Just check your phone specs)
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks
TLDR get a Dji mini ❤
bro anong klase dron magnda at budjetmeal lang
@captaindrone hubsan ace pro a better choice?
Yes
I'm planning on going out of country in the near future. One thing I really want to do is fly a drone in a country with less strict drone laws. But do you happen to have any idea or know of any drones that don't have a hard set altitude limit. Preferably the higher I can go the better. Would also like some decent range. But I'm not expecting there to be many drones that have a high range and ability to go above the 400f mark.
Lots of consumer drones allow you to select a height range above 120 meters (400 feet). You’ll get a warning before selecting.
Hi, thanks for this review. You did the follow me and the product website says follow me is one of the features. But follow me is different from following objects, does this drone follow visual objects? I see it only comes with one large battery, how fast can it be charged? Can I use a 30w charger? Curious about charging time, thx!
Follow is only GPS follow as shown in the video. Battery charging is designed for people who know nothing about batteries, so it is slow.
I like you do some many price ranges so that everyone it’s able to afford it
Thanks. I’m glad you noticed. Not many viewers have clued into this.
This is a rebranded MJX Bugs 18 Pro. They added timelapse, but I don't think it actually works. Did you get it to work? Mine just records standard videos in timelapse mode.
Never tried it. I just showed that it existed. If it does not work then it is an App issue firmware thing. Perhaps an update is coming.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 hopefully.
Hey, when will you review the new Hubsan Ace 2?
Is it really as amazing as the specs will have it and is it as good at low light photography as some would have us believe?
Hubsan Drones are not really sold in North America so I’m not sure if I’ll have one.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798
I though product such as drones were sold on a more international market.
Everything can be had on eBay and Amazon I guess, but maybe it is the new 25% import tariff on Chinese goods to the US that sets a stop to lesser known Chinese brands?
It isn't much sold here in Europe either, at least not in Norway, it is almost only DJI or nothing it seams on the domestic market. But for us that import for our-self that is never a problem.
Anyway, if you happen to stumble upon one I for sure am looking forward to the review, if it stands up to its claims :)
What about the beast evo drone
Is there any information available as to piloting a drone in colder weatherpossibly affecting batteries?
I’ve made many videos on that in years past (many years ago). If you keep the batteries in your pocket at body temp, then put them in your drone & fly right away, then you can fly in sun zero arctic temperatures
Please can you let me know whoud you take this one over HS600 which you reviewed 2 years ago? Than you!
This one is newer so I’d take this new one.
Not a bad drone but how do you thanks it compares to the fimi x8 se 2022 0rc2929 for the price they are around the same
Fimi brand products would be better for sure.
Hs 720 R - Hs 720 E - Hs 720 G ?
arrange them from top to bottom please
Can you compare this to the DJI mini 2 SE since this is even more expensive that that one?
Mini 2 SE is a much better drone
Review potensic atom se u will love it
I have it on my list of review drones
Nice when are u gonna make a vid about it
would you recommend a drone, that does what this one does with obstacle avoidance and has a screen on the control ? thank you. appreciate your videos
You are looking at FIMI, Autel or DJI for such a drone
@CAPTAINDRONE798 thank you. I'll look them up. I'm sure you did videos on them. maybe I missed those. greatly appreciate your reply. I am a beginner. I just don't want to spend a fortune. I'm sure you've heard that before
Can "follow me" be configured that it follows the rule of thirds with space ahead of me in stead of behind me?
Not really
HI
Just purchased a 720R for Christmas. I bought a 2nd battery from Amazon and HolyStone sent me a third one for free. Nice to spend well under $250 for the drone andv3 batteries. One of the great features of this drone is that it doesn't require special chargers. 4 2 Amp wall chargers and 4 3 ft cables is all that is needed to charge 3 batteries and the controller.
Thank you for your well presented review.
Thanks for sharing, you got a great deal!
I actually saw these professional pilots that's why I bought my holystone but they don't show you how difficult is to control in wifi polluted areas like near cell towers or buildings and houses they always show them on a open space like this or the farm side here there's places like this but always full of people
As a beginner you should only fly in large open fields away from humans. Cell towers, home wifi, and a pile of other freeware everywhere and they have no effect on drone connection when flown within eye sight range, but as soon as you fly far with interference your video feed ends and the drone will go into return to home. Your telemetry connection to the drone is never lost during interference so you always have flight control.
From the manual or from your experience, can this drone take photos and videos without flying, with gimbal stabilizer active, motors turned off and arms still folded?
Yes
So does this drone have the required faa remote Id?
Apparently the website says yes
Do you suggest 720G or 720R? Does 3x worth the price or a big difference from the 2x camera? Thank you so much
I’m sure the 720G is fine
@CAPTAINDRONE798 is there a major difference between axis ? Many thanks in advance.
Question, do any of the holy stone drones you’ve tested have object avoidance??
None
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 bummer
Well!;what can we say Captain!; first, there were "Humans" encroaching into the flight; then there is the eternal "
Tractor Man" !!! and now..........we have: "Cricket Man"!!!; jokes aside, looked like a fairly reasonable Drone offering from Holystone however I thought the horizon was "off" throughout the entire filming; regardless its sold out on Amazon so must be very popular !!!
Is the 720R a better drone when the 720 G
It is newer with increased range
Just Wondering what's the best Drone for the money, in the 250$ range, i really like these Holystone drones, i'm a beginner. Looking to buy my first drone.
POTENSIC ATOM is a great deal and highly recommended. But price is often $299 unless on sale.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Fantastic, really appreciate the reply, and great videos by the way, just watching them has made me want to get a drone, thank you.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I just watch the review you did on this Drone, it's an amazing bit of kit for the money, if it had obstacle avoidance it would be perfect, the flying time is great, along with the picture quality, and i like the fact, it will go so far, and find it's way home when it's low on battery, thank you, i really appreciate this recommendation, i'm looking for one online now.
Do you hear the motor noise in all your videos
Yes if the drone is close to me
It looks identical to the HS720G, is there actually any difference?
3-axis vs 2-axis. Range. But I don't think it's worth the money.
Great review. Its almost as if Holy Stone took a step back with the 720R. I feel the HS600 is a far better bird with double the battery life and it's nearly 3 years old. Not really seeing much difference in video stabilization from the 2 axis vs 3 axis gimbal on the two models. Both the HS720R and the HS600 can be had for $279 not including a coupon on Amazon (in the States). Unless the 720R gets a significant update, Id take the 600 everytime....just my .02.
EDIT:
Holy Stone has the HS360S with 4K (albeit 20 FPS) video, weighs 249g, has the same range, GPS with follow me mode, and cost $120 less.
Hello!!! So according with your experience your recommendation is take the HD600? Because I want buy one buy O didn't take my decision yet between hs720R and HS600
@@raulgonzalez8534yes. The HS600 is a better drone than any of the 700 series HolyStone drones. I recommend getting the bundle with the 2 batteries.
Do you NEED an SD card to record video on your phone ?
SD card is required if you wish to record high quality resolution video and photos. If you just record what is on your phone, that is a pretty low quality video.
This drone is entry level considering toward DJI but that's where it ends.
If you're into hobbies with drones it's probably what you want.
Is it important to get a drone lighter than this drone?
Most countries have less restrictions if a drone weighs less than 250 grams
Do you get paid from the company on reviewing there products and making a video about it, is it a honest Review, Does the company have an input on your video and review of their product?
Funny dude. Yes, this is how I afford my Jeep Gladiator by getting paid by Holystone to give fake reviews. 😂
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 It was a genuine question 🤔
hoe long the battery last
The max flight time is mentioned in the video (something like 25 or 30 minutes)
It's this drone build in Germany?
I don't believe consumer beginner drones are built in Germany
I ask you because in the past I bought 1 holystone and it was made in Germany
@@juanito6147honestly I think most are made in China due to labour costs
