Can't disagree, for the extra money, that EIS pushes the ATOM SE over the top. Not perfect video, but usable if you're patient.

Yeah that whole disconnection thing on my first nice drone steered me in the opposite direction of the hobby . Went straight to RC cars 👍. I’d like to try again though .

I bought this drone about 2 months ago as my first camera drone to get a feel for it. While Im impressed how it works for its cost, the lack of any meaningful gimbal makes it not great for taking video, the photo and video quality for 4k is not very good but for the money it's quite good as a starter. Im saving up my money for the Avata 2 as I have since gained some FPV experience as well and ready for the real deal.

I just got this from an amazon lightning deal for 128 bucks. I am so stoked. I was originally looking at the DJI mini 2s3, but this was so much cheaper & seemed like it had a lot of the features I wanted in a mini entry level hobby drone. the range & gps, all of those things I could try out for less than half the price of the dji. That is amazing for two franklins. I could do without some of the sensors, but when it was following you the camera instability was just too much. They definitely need a stabilizing gimbal. Indeed they seem to be on the right track. And thanks for your awesome videos like always.

I brought two of these. I'm just saying the propellers are really flexible. In fact, in very warm to HOT flying weather the props will flex and hit the drone body. This is in the front blades only. I have a video with this issue.
I installed HolyStone 710 props up front and no problems flying in hot weather.
Thanks for the info and the tip about alternate props! The props are thin little buggers, I can imagine in HOT weather they might ooze a bit, kinda scary that they hit the body. I'm usually more worried what happens at -25 below zero where I'm at... lol.
...so I purchased and installed some motor covers for the DJI Mini 2, and that little bit of extra spacing solved the problem of the front blades striking the drone body. Sweet! I really should have ordered the red covers, though.
Snow weather flying is a dream of mine. I hope we get some snow this winter. I'd love to get drone video flying over snow.

Holy Stone has come a long way. For a beginner drone at that price is a great option. Like you mentioned. You will not get that smooth video as you see with the 3 axis gimbals.

Thanks for sharing! I use the EXO BH2 Pro as my go to drone. It is a noisy bugger, not going to sneak up on someone with that angry bee noise but it works well with great video. I think the noise scares people, but maybe that's a good thing! lol

I just got mine and I've seen a few different reviews on it some people are saying it needs to be gyro calibrated some say only follow what it says in the user manual to witch mine mentions nothing about gyro calibration only compass witch is correct Thanks
My first drone, finally got brave enough to try this out, been in box since june 23. I pressed on gift box in app, requested free battery. It showed up within 2 days. Wow ! I'm sold on this brand. There are issues with phone connection to controller, not sure how to get it to work Everytime.
Is there an emergency shut down seq?
Just got the HS360s, can't wait to play with this. Would be nice to see an adapter for a tablet if someone wants to use it.

I just got the hs360s from Amazon's prime day. Have only used indoors so far, but has been easy to control. I should mention this is my first drone. Also, Amazon is already out of batteries and doesn't know if they will get any back in stock

So whats the upgrades over the normal HS360 that was reviewed earlier? That drone had a gimbal.
The 360S is a completely different drone, not an upgrade to the HS360. It has different hardware, different control protocol, different GPS hardware, different camera, and notably no gimbal. It is a superior drone control and stability wise, simply a great flyer, but without the stabilized gimbal or even EIS it falls short. I hoped they would use this as a new platform to go forward and build on, but haven't seen it yet.
I have two other cheaper drones and one works really good , deerc d60 doesn’t lose connection in my example . The little drocon spacekey was good for a month and the other Drocon is ok , just loses signal here and there so I don’t trust it. Of it wasn’t for the reliability of the d60 flying some range I’d be turned off to the hobby bit since it works I want something better
What you are reviewing is the new SJRC F5 badged up as Holystone who sell mostly via Amazon at grossly inflated retail , they also use MJX as a supplier, again at very high mark up. Holystone are no different to EXO who sell badged Hubsans at silly money through glossy marketing - I remember you also giving EXO a fantastic review in a previous video.
So that is the SJRC F5? I can't find it anywhere except Indonesia and Russia. Rather disappointing I must say. I thought it would have a gimbal and/or EIS? Depends on the price of course. But yes EXO and to some degree Holystone just sell the same drones which you can get for a lot less money under the original name.
Indeed, Holy Stone and EXO use the same factory, but so does SJRC. In my understanding they are all products of the same engineering group and manufacturing, not simply a rebadge, but whoever releases it first will get the credit I suppose. I give reviews on the performance, doesn't matter to me what the name is on it, just give us something that works well, cost effective, available where we fly, and access to spare parts and support, then you get my thumbs up! 👍
Just had my first flight with mine. Is it normal to have tons of deadband in the sticks? When I move the stick to finally get it to move, it jerks into motion. Is this normal???
Didn't have anything like that during my flights. Did seem like it took more stick movement that I'm used to to get it to move, but it started slow when it did start moving. I thought I remember seeing stick movement profile adjustment settings though, or perhaps I'm thinking of a different model...
Do you know of a way to get the feed off SD card without removing card and placing in pc?
I would think you could download the quality feed to your phone. I'm brand new at this.
I don't think there is a way to transfer the files off the SD card directly to a phone. You should be able to remove the SD card and either insert the SD card into your phone and read it directly, or get a card reader that you can then connect to your phone, then transfer that way. I'm not certain with this drone but maybe there's a menu in the app that can be used to view the pics/video then save them elsewhere, but it normally doesn't work like that.

I'm sort of getting the hang of moving files but it's quite confusing because the same file is of a different quality not easily visible

Final rendition for my 360S. He now has Master Air Screw props installed. Gonna see and hear a big difference in sound and performance. I hope. Fingers 🤞🏿.

@AlienDrones yes, this drone is an awesome flyer. I loved modifying this drone. Hmmm... if it only had a gimbal... at least 2 axis. The new propellers changed its handling characteristics. Sort of like installing a K&N air filter on my Mustang and feeling the power increase by the seat of your pants.
Can you tell me what after market props work? I want to order something ASAP. HS is sending me stock replacements but they are more than a month out!! Please help! Thanks.

Holy stone has me a little bit pissed off right now. Just bought a HS720G. My drone was manufactured on 5/23/2023 so after December 2022. Holy Stone either can't or just wont tell me if their flagship drone is RID ready. Its over 300 grams so thats kind of important. The only thing from holy stone in the FAA declaration of compliance list is a RID module, but not a single drone. Its 17th of July. RID compliance for drone pilots is 9/16/2023. 2 months
been playing with mine for a little over a week now,, and like you, wish it had came with 2 batteries! Amazon shows them unavailable at this moment! really easy drone to get used to.. great review! by the way glad you didn't do the dredded"unboxing" jeez i hate those!

It's good to know what you get when you buy, but if you can't figure how to take it out of the box, you should probably find a safer hobby, like knitting. 😎

Hello. I'm sure this is a great budget drone. I watch several reviews on the drone by persons with a lot more experience than myself, and I decided to pull the trigger on Amazon. I received my drone a few days ago. It came with a defective controller. When I press the power button it will show me the battery power (100%, it's fully charged!) but then it just goes blank! I have held it down for 10-20 seconds, even a minute! It just does not want to stay on! Today would have been it's maiden flight. Not every RC Cars/Drones/Airplanes/Boats/Helicopters arrives perfect. Amazon is sending me a new one. keeping my fingers crossed.

@@AlienDrones I received a replacement yesterday. There was for sure something wrong with the controller. I was able to fly it for about 3 minutes today, just to get the feel for it. It was very very impressive! Can't wait for a calm day to get it much higher and fly it a lot longer. Thanks!

What is the difference between the Hs 360 and Hs 360s?
The 360 has a 3-axis gimbal, but I found it to be unstable, it is also being pulled from the market in another week (according to Holy Stone). The 360S is incredibly stable, has great range, new technology upgrades, but no gimbal. Great starter drone, flies well, but sure wish it had a gimbal... Completely different animal...
A-a-and... all amazon platforms (US, EU, etc) ran out of batteries and it's not possible to purchase one anywhere now. Not even form China. That's a bummer.

DJI mini 3 is probably your best bet (or something higher end but used). You can buy used because as long as you test it and the drone flies, it's probably not going to break unless you do something to break it.

Thanks for the kind words! It really depends on what you want to do with it and what you're needs are. That $400 mark is a pivotal point, but I think the best value in that area with a fly more type package is the DJI Mini 2 SE at $489 amzn.to/43eotpS ( I ALWAYS recommend the fly-more package type. Always. Long term you won't regret it.) It is stable, has pretty decent video and pics, comes with a couple of batteries and case, extra props etc. Has a few quirks, but I think it will treat you well. To step up in camera and features, the next level is around $650 ish. Really you get what you pay for (but not always, there are some at $400 ish that actually are not good flyers and will frustrate you...). 🤙

I needed a drone that isn't too cheaply built,that had the very basic feautures working (like RTH),so i'll check out the link for the mini 2 SE. @@AramBasmadjian-wz1wjPontensic Atom SE if you don't care about a gimble. It still has good EIS and a great camera. You can find them for 250-$300 range. But if you want a gimble go with the DJI mini SE or mini 2 SE. Or even an original Mavic mini.
Also there's a drone called the C-FLY Faith mini which has a 3 axis gimble and is a surprisingly good drone for the money, around the $200ish range. So you'll be saving quite a bit with a $400 budget.
There's also the F11/F22 models which are great drones for the money, 250- $300ish. They have 2 axis gimbles. Only catch with those is they are over the 250g limit

The batteries are supposed to be available in 2 weeks, and the props about the same time, though @bar9501 said he installed HS710 props and they worked fine!

Not crazy at all! That's no problem, the cell service is not needed at all to fly! Some off them use WiFi but it is only from the phone to the drone for FPV video. 🤙

@@williambailey1998 Thanks! my 2 cents, I use an old phone that has no service to fly a lot of times, and even if I do use a phone with service I'll put it in airplane mode, then flip on only the WiFi if needed. Don't need the distractions while flying plus less possibility of other things in the background crashing the app or disrupting the bandwidth that controls the drone mid-flight...
Only problem I have is . The camera always freezes lucky if I get 20 sec view.. don't know if this is something I'm doing wrong.
by "camera freezes" do you mean the FPV on your device? If so, it's probably some conflict with the device or some app on the device as I imagine it is nearly impossible to adapt to every piece of hardware or software that is used. Might try changing the cable first, never know if there's something wrong with it. Next I'd try a different device and see if it changes. If it is the video on the drone itself, then I don't think you're doing anything wrong, but could be the SD card or a failure of the camera itself. Try changing the SD card out, and if not that I'd contact Potensic as something must be awry hardware wise... Hope this helps!

Stabilization sucks without gimble and video quality looks horrible... Just Sayian... my Run cam mini on my Baby Hawk R is a lot better video quality at 1080p and it's 7 years old ;)

The Flightelf is simply a rebranded drone and 3 times the cost, certainly not a starter/budget drone at all. If $500 is your price range, (not $169) there are a multitude of drones worth considering instead.
It is a nice little drone for the price after discounts (under $100), but it should have been renamed something else. Total rip-off by HolyStone, calling it the HS360S and removing the gimbal!
Not sure why they used the HS360 name over, then stopped selling the original HS360...

I'm not sure the body looks like a DJI, which one? Personally I don't care too much what it looks like, it could be purple and look like Barney if it flies well, controllable, decent gimbal and quality camera, then we have a winner.

You're showing how horrible the footage is, how unstable it is in the air, how hard it lands, and you keep praise the device 😅. Come on... This thing has a looooong way to become a usable drone. In its current performances, I wouldn't dare flying it above people or water or even my car.
I try and give factual reviews of what I see, so I disagree. The video isn't stabilized, but the quality of the build is really improved, better than most in this price range. It flies really well, the GPS is excellent and at the price would be a great beginner drone at a good budget ($179 with discount). As far as flying above people, cars or water, yeah, you probably shouldn't. Leave that to the professionals. I did fly above water even in this video review, so it does perform pretty well...
We are talking about a very low cost budget device, what do you expect? The review was honest and with comparison to other low cost models as well. It's all about the cost vs the features delivered. With coupons and rebates, this device is in the 100-140$ range.
I wanted to see a bit longer range that's what matters too maybe next video the true range b4 it starts breaking up and rth kicks in also not bad of a drone it does copy the mini3
