  • OK, I promise this is the last wafer lock video I do for a while! In this video, I want to talk more about ball rakes compared to snake rakes and hollow half diamonds compared to a standard half diamond pick. I also want to moan about the useful but tricky two-pronged tension tool. This ends my 4-part wafer lock picking extravaganza so I hope you find it useful.
    Remember: only pick locks that are yours and that are not in use!

    Thanks heaps. I hadn't picked a wafer lock before, but needed to open one at work after we lost the key. Your video meant i had a plan for how to approach the lock, the different tools to try, and the different techniques to use. It opened on my first try with a snake rake, and I looked like a pro in front of my workmates!

      Snake rakes are one of the bests for a wafer lock! I’m going to try it to bust into my dads safe to get back my passport 😭 please let me know of any techniques you tried :)

    Thank you for the video, if i may ask a question,
    How can you tell if the the wafer lock is single or double sided? the part where you mentioned it wasn't close enough to see properly, thx

      @LockNoob  Před 2 lety +1

      If you look in the keyway, you should be able to see whether the wafers go into the keyway on one or both sides

      @@LockNoobare they distinguishable by shape, because the one i have appears to have metal top and bottom but i don't think it was a double and can't remember if the key was one sided or two.

    Great tutorial. I'm a locksmith apprentice. Can you tell me where I can find a vice like the one you use?

      Javier Aguilar these are found on most online household and tech retailers including Amazon. I'm using a Panavise 350 now which is excellent :-)

    So you can't use a regular L shaped tension wrench for that kind of lock?

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  Před 6 lety

      JoeDurobot you can, as long as you don't disturb the wafers, which can be both sides of the lock. A pry bar can work too :-)
