  • I have been wanting to do a video on this camera setup for quite some time now since getting it, I have made quite a few videos using this which I have published on my channel. I am blown away by the image quality and sound despite such a small form factor. There's a hidden feature I haven't seen anyone mention before and is something I recently discovered myself when I accidentally tapped the wrong button.
    I am not affiliated with DJI or anyone from that company so I can say anything I like, I did buy this as well with my own money.
    At the making of the video the Pocket 2 in the creator combo was 679AUD and the Pocket 3 creator combo was 1,129AUD on DJI's Store in Australia, certainly quite the price difference and I know what I would still get.
    I hope you enjoy this video!

    I love this camera but I have broken two of them accidentally by falls. They are very delicate and will not tolerate any shock whatever. I made some great videos with them and thinking of getting a third one but don't know if I should with my butter fingers!!!! Thanks for the video and restoking my interest in this camera.

      @brianbr5388 Ouch!! I have dropped mine once and thankfully it was still all good to use afterwards. I think it is certainly worth buying another one, you could fit a wrist strap to protect it from your butter fingers haha. I really do love this little camera and it gets easier the more often I reach for it.

    I’m torn between this camera, action 4 or maybe the insta ace pro….but I keep coming back to this. I’m a casual shooter and very little sport or high action. The new pocket 3 is just too pricey. I think this maybe the one.

      I really understand where you are coming from as I was thinking a lot about what I wanted from a small lightweight yet easy setup. I do find the action cameras are a touch to wide and the image quality isn't as good as the pocket 2, plus you can't have such a simple wireless mic setup. I have heard mixed reviews on the insta ace pro, I found this out after I was so close to buying one. You honestly can't go wrong with the pocket 2 in the creators combo and they are selling cheap at the moment to clear stock. You certainly won't regret buying it. All the best with which ever one you decide to go with 🙂

    What's great about the Pocket 2 (and 1) is that it's so discreet, you can film in crowded areas and most people don't notice and even those who do usually do not realise you are filming. I looked at a Pocket 3 and for me its size, especially with the horizontal screen, makes it only a little bit less discreet than a phone on a gimbal. No doubt the 3 is a better camera, especially at night, but the 2 is good enough to make 4K CZcams videos up to 60fps so not upgrading yet. Thanks for the video.

      I’ve seen the pocket 3 as well and it is quite a bit bigger I bet as well when it’s crowded people are more likely to look at the screen to see if they are in the shot, the 2 it’s just about right to see yourself. It’s certainly fine for CZcams videos anything else then a different system is possibly worth considering.

      My pleasure! You will really like it once you get it, it comes with a wide angle lens in the creators combo but I found I never really needed that. I hope you’ll still be able to buy them towards the end of this year when you can afford it.
      All the best with your channel! You’ll certainly enjoy creating content.

    This looks great Simon for people traveling or those who don’t want to carry a large or heavy camera for capturing. Ideal for content creators too. What a great idea:-)

      @SimonPhillipsPhoto  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It really does make it a lot easier and doesn't pull attention to you when out in public, if anyone does look it is normally for a second or two then they move on. This one is also ~$500 cheaper than the pocket 3 and it still does a lot the latest one does.

      @@SimonPhillipsPhoto Great video :-) You could go invisible when shooting with this, just perfect for crowds! It’s so compact. You’re definitely right that you don’t need the latest version to get the results and you’ve already saved some $$, so you’re on a roll 😊

    im a small 15 year old content creator and im very keen on buying this camera? would u reccomend it if i were to use it as a studio camera (indoor only) or just use my iphone which has the cinematic mode? also is it still usable if i were to shoot cinematic b-roll or is it outdated? thank you.

    • @SimonPhillipsPhoto
      @SimonPhillipsPhoto  Před 4 dny

      That is really hard to say to be honest, your phone with an app to get the most out of the sensor could do a better job so long as the lighting is used correctly. If you're wanting a small setup with gimbal stabilisation then the pocket series is a good setup to look at.

    Hey great video. I do have a question. I just saw someone around my town selling an used pocket 2 creator combo for $200, I know its pretty cheap compared to a new one, but its a very niched camera and hard to resell as I have seen. I am thinking that's a steal, was looking for it to start vlogging but you know, limited resources to start. As someone experienced as you are, what questions should I ask the guy who is selling? is there anything I should look for? I mostly concerned of course the body of the camera and he confirmed its good! but should I be worried about battery? or anything else? can I replace the battery if its bad?

    • @SimonPhillipsPhoto
      @SimonPhillipsPhoto  Před 10 dny +1

      That’s a great bargain for it! The battery in the main unit can’t be replaced unless you send it off to DJI to replace but that will cost you. The battery grip that also has the mic transmitter in it can be replaced easily by buying a new part. Make sure the gimbal works smoothly and the mic still powers up and has about 320 minutes of charge when full. It really is a simple setup and not to much that can go wrong. Thank you as well! I’m glad you found it useful 🙂
