It is an such a credit to the Artisan Team that Ruben (apologies if I’ve misspelled your name) has really taken onboard everything he is being taught even down to the tiny details like chiselling the edge off the brickwork to ensure the cable is not compromised. He is going to make an awesome tradesman he already exceeds the workmanship of some of the “professionals” I’ve worked with. Lee is also a credit to the team I’m pleased he passed his probation period 👍 well done Lee 🙌🤝
Great comment thanks!
Another great video. Lee has turned into a natural in front of the camera. A great addition!
what I learned from this video is if you pop a brick, fit a big enough Wiska box to cover it ;)
Really nice to see Rubin expanding his skills and getting more camera time. He has come so far so quickly.
Lee and Reuben work well together .
10:26 Have you noticed it's always the cameraman who comes up with the best ideas 😆😆😆
I'm addicted to this channel. As a non tradesperson I'm thoroughly interested in what goes on when I task someone to do a job. I'd be really interested in seeing a video of a complete rewire. a few years ago I had my 3 bed semi rewired and was shocked (from a good point of view) that it was completed in 3 days including re-plastering any chasing out. I admit I completely emptied the house but all the same was quite impressed.
Lee is a good sparky, and Reuben is well on his way to being one too 👍
Fantastic great to see how you’ve evolved and not frightened to put your name out there ! Well done .
well done guys, two professionals at work!
I vote "tool of the day" the spade. What a fantastic shovel it was and well done to the guy who was operating it. Reuben works well with Cory, Jodan and Lee. He's great little entertainer too. Fantastic work guys 😜.
Another great vid, great to see Reuben getting to do lots more - very neat work 👍 I like the new wee Artisan Electric sticker on the charger too!
Nice to see you around my hometown. Great job as always guys!
Great Job Lee and Reuben.
Another great job lads.Tidy,neat work.
Too be fair you wouldn’t expect two young guys to do such a good professional job :)
Great video, work and just love the style of artisan electrics.
Thank you very much!
Nice job Lee & Reuben.
Nice job, love the look of those chargers!
Don't forget the 150mm zone either side of internal and external corners. It's easy to forget and drill through a cable.
Good job Lee! And you too Ruby 😉
Another nice job from the team :)
Jordan, Please buy Reuben a tool bag 🤣🤣
Great team work again
Another epic vid, keep em coming 👍🏻
Really good job…. Tidy trunking with the caulking…. Did I notice the shroud missing of the JB? Been there done that… just cut one In half and black silcone with join behind out of sight…. 🤣👍
Come on Jordan sort Reuben with a tool kit, he is worth every penny you spend on him. You have a gem working for you.
Crackin' good job lads!
sawing on the customers worktop was abit risky
😱
Awesome video !
Great job guys 👊
Looks like cables run above for the CU slightly risky putting fixings in for trunking
Brickwork there looks absolutely horrendous, common thing with new builds nowadays unfortunately
I noticed that too. Professional not to want to blow out bricks but nothing you did there could make it any worse. An absolute disgrace.
@@lee_mc Absolutely shocking!
They look almost like engineering bricks 🤔 horrible to drill through. The only other option would’ve been a thorough measure up and drill from the outside in
@@timwoodhams958 they are enginering bricks, Class B (perforated) which will easily shatter and hence the break out. opps
Nice work!
Great job guys 😎
Can we take a moment to appreciate the b-roll and the background music selections that the editor is adding?
🙌
Great vid as always. What's the reason to not install a mini cu/Henley blocks in the meter cupboard (assuming it's outside on a new build). Seems the easier option?
Reminds me of the time a group of 5 of us pulled a 185mm 4 core armoured. 120m in the roof space of a slaughter house
Reuben nicking the estwing hammer I see, can't blame him.
Great video guys!!! Come on Jordan time to buy little Ruben a klein tool bag and hand tools also some cordless’s instead of funding Cory’s Pringles addiction lol
great vid as always, where did you get the little label heater, any links please. cheers should have made it tool of the day 🙂
Great video again .... still scares me using a hacksaw without gloves ... I've still got the scar when mine slipped while glanding ...it's there to remind me ha ha
Defo go with your eye!!
Nice work
Any reason why you decided to take the armour all the way to the board? Wouldn't it have been better to gland into the box on the wall and take a flat twin and earth to the board using a much smaller trunking size?
Possibly has the cat 5 inside of the swa for clamps
@@msparky8899 Data shouldnt be run alongside power though.
So I am a electrical trades student here in the USA. I have a question, why wasn't the cable buried in some parts but other parts it was covered up, and would that be up to code? I don't know really anything about that in the UK so I just wanted to ask.
Soooo, are we going to talk about those sunglasses? 🤣 Great video as always gents!
Nice jobs lads
Think I would have terminated the SWA into a wiska box on the outside of the house then ran NYY cable in the trunking, make life a lot easier and means you dont have to have a stupidly sized wiska box. Also has the added benefit that you say the bigger trunking gives future routes however if there was wago connectors from SWA to NYY the cable could be pulled back through and another hole drilled without worrying about hitting your cable.
NYY cable has no British standard and isn't recognised by BS standards, it shouldn't be used. A twin and earth would of been sufficient.
What brand of work trousers do y'all wear?
By the looks of that brickworks it’s a new build lol
Exactly why the wall with the charger aint level too haha!
Good install, but I would use a dust sheets on customers worktop.
Just one small question that i’m confused on for EV Chargers, why is there no CT Clamp for this like there is used for other chargers? Thanks
Do you have a link to the little heat gun Lee was using to put the heatshrink onto the Neutral and Earth cores?
Amazon - flameless heat gun.
Where does everyone get their linian super clips from?
You guys been polishing your spade?
Yo Reuben, well done with the glasses.
Hey, thanks!
Slightly surprised you did not put the cable through the wall at the charger side so no cable visible? Or is this not possible with the Anderson?
Reuben & I Lee,Reuben & I 😁😁👊
Question, could you have not bought the cable through the wall to the rear of the charger to make it look neater?
Yes, thinking the same thing! Would have looked a whole lot neater.
Cool, we've left the food channelcrisis and came back to an electricians channel.
Could you tell me what those cleats are called that you hammer into the wall please and where I can get them from? They look like a huge time and Labour saver
There LINIAN fire clips .
How much was this instal please ???
9:36 I bet Cory would be though 😆😆😆
Once more with feeling
So how come you having to put "type A rcd" in?
Hopefully one day soon, houses will be build so this is all done in advance without the mess
6:47 Reuben! Hahaha!
Would it not have been better/neater to bring the cable in through the rear of the Andersen?
What’s the cable size they’ve used? 🧐
Reuben. those work pants, where and brand?
What pants do they wear to work ?
Shame to have to use trunking. But I guess OTT to either chase it or hide under the cupboards
Music reminds me of Jordan’s early vids

I’ve got a Stanley Fat max trolley bag with CK screwdrivers set , multi - tester 2 pairs of brand new cutters ; socket and see and various other tools for an apprentice sparky I’d happily sell Rueben if you’re looking to get bag of tools at about a quarter of retail price ? Hit me up Lee , Cory , Rueben .. I’ll gladly send a list and I’m only down the road from you guys 👍🏼
Did Lee used to work for virgin media? 🤣
Niice
Great video guys, why didn’t you just terminate the armoured into the JB on the outside wall and then run t+e in smaller trunking? 👍🏻👍🏻
Or just gland the SWA into the box and then run the inner core through the smaller trunking saves having a un-necessary joint.
Even better shout!👍🏻
Glad this isn’t my new build! 😱
Just wondering how many non-sparkys would say drill through the back of the board and fish down the void behind it......!!!????
What's wrong with that? (Yes I'm a non sparky)
I thought the same (non sparky too) but lee did point out the big trunking was to allow for other cabling in future. All new builds seem to have shocking brickwork and finishing these days.
@@Accomplice23 cable won't be glanded then. Also you have to try getting a 6mm swa cable behind a dot and dab void!!
You can’t run cables in the cavity these days (BS7671) as it would (should) have insulation in there which would de-rate the cables, plus the cables may be out of their prescribed zones so if someone were to drill through the wall in the future then there’s the risk of hitting one
@@kevy427 where do you think all the cables for the property run into the consumer unit?
I'm guessing in the wall in capping going back entry to the consumer unit. Had Lee decided to fish the sea down the wall and someone did indeed drill the wall on on the other side of consumer unit they have more to worry about that one SWA wouldn't you agree?
When an electrician is employed by a company does the company supply the tools or must the electrician have their own tools?
Most hand tools will be owned by the electrician. Power tools, MFT’s etc. are often supplied by the better firms.
Anderson or hypervolt ???
Depends on which one you like the look of more! Hypervolt has the best tech, Andersen does look lovely tho!
Such a big box for only 7 kW? It was not particularly beautiful to look at either. Had much rather gone for a Zaptec. Less than half the size and the possibility of up to 22kW and of course possibilities to put on more if needed.
Hi Guys
Could you have come out of the back of the charge point instead of running down the wall on the exposed to the street side, it could look more aesthetically pleasing
95% sure the chargers only permit bottom entry.
The other guy had a tool bag I don't remember Ruben getting a tool bag
That external clipped cable is horrible! I would not be happy about that.
I'm in 1st fix and have routed 2 x 6mm cables from consumer unit coming out the wall perfectly through the back of the car chargers. (I havnt even bought them yet I just downloaded the instructions so I know where to put the hole.) I was going to put them both put a hole at 750mm to start with but then I would have to have external clipped cables on my house!
Owner: so how much?
Yes
Criminal that new houses like that are being built without charging for EV being in place already.... Even if it is just the cabling that's in place.....
Totally agree. As an owner of a 2020 completed new build, I had an extremely complicated cable run too 🤦🏼♂️
Over here in Ireland all new build houses will have an CV charge point fitted.
They do in the UK, just done a new build and an ev point was part of the building regs
Can I ask why you are not adding any surge protection for these installations ?
There’s a calculation to work out if an installation warrants an SPD , I’m sure these guys would have installed it if it was necessary
10:10 should never stand on top of ladder. Need bigger step ladders. Great job though 👍
Do you want it level, or to look level? They're different!
Why isn't there an industry standard / regulation around where the fuse board is located when the house is built? Seems completely random most the time. If it was standised with a bit of thought in mind it would really help future proofing additions and alterations down the line, especially with the world needing to be more climate aware (eV, solar, etc)
Forget about the dodgy brickwork, just ensure your bits right
If the brickworks dodgy you have to match that because they’re not going to get the wall rebuilt just for the EV charger so it’s better to have it look right than say your bit is level but the actual overall install looks like shit
Why the hell aren't new builds putting 6mm cable in by default to a position on the drive for a charger. Honestly madness.
Don’t you just hate newb builds, They literally install boards right in the middle of the house.
How come you guys seem to be constantly popping bricks out like this? Mark the wall thickness on the bit with tape, and just turn off the hammer for the last little bit while drilling more gently... yes it adds 2 minutes to the job but I thought your USP was high quality work! :/
Hope the boys protected the customers worktop under the fuseboard when they used it as a workbench and step ladder 👿 👿
And crumbling around with plastics by sawing and drilling trunking etc on the customer's lawn doesn't indicate the best professionalism either.
Brickwork by a blind person - no pride in workmanship and the site manager should be sacked. Learn something from Artisan Electrics at the top of professional standards. Good work guys.
Maybe drill on spin not hammer ...
