You got played fool you don’t seem to grasp the concept of a sports car - fun factor is the most important thing. There’s a reason the mx5 is the most popular sports car ever and a reason why it’s got countless car of the year awards, beating the likes of 570s and GT4s. This alpine is a jacked up mx5 and I mean that in the most complementary way.

@@judethaddaeus9742 I'm pretty sure that depends on what kind of test it is, there are no doubt tests where 70% is a good score and other tests where it is a bad one. I'm not really sure why you're replying to me when I was criticizing their score as well.
I give a 1 out of 10 to those new team scores.

Wow, I've never seen such a harsh review of this car. I've not driven it so I've no idea how good it actually is , but every other review I've seen of it has been enormously positive to the point of almost calling it perfect.

can you buy a jag, bentley, royce, range rover, atom or aston for 57k €? No, you can't, so your argument is pointless. The Alpine is one of the best fun sportscars for that kind of money.

Claude Legrand Look, I’m not bashing alpine. In fact, I love the alpine, it’s definitely not a sub par car like the other guy said and I’d sooner drive that than any of the other mentioned manufacturers’ cars. Im simply saying that a lot of the Jaguar, Range Rover and Ariel lines are a similar or less expensive price than what you quoted, new that is.
Replace the Alpine with say Lotus and they`d immediately score it 10/10.

Having watched a Henry Catchpole review - and Chris Harris - you realise what bunch of muppets - one and all - this lot are.
Not entirely sure how you can consider Plato a muppet when it comes to judging sporty cars but there we go
looks good, drives well, great performance, nice and comfortable....so, why not 10/10 ????? WTF test
The only thing "wrong" with this car is it's missing a third pedal! The rest of it deserves nine, at least a more than solid eight! Looks stunning (japanese or not. Have you seen that new Z4 for comparison??) , drives like a peach, turbo'd but not too bad sounding, fast, exotic and true to its legend. What's not to like?
No LSD and plastic galore inside
7/10 way too low. Plastic is probably light plus they spent the money elsewhere. Plus if you care about the interior plastics this is not the car for you.
@@PaulGraville just compared to a Lotus or Alfa Romeo 4C you can achieve lightness with better quality materials, for the price this costs
"what's not to like" just my personal taste: i don't like the now so fashionable displays instead of elegant looking dials. I like the look of the instrument cluster of the old ones, even that of the A310 better, don't like fixed paddles (which would be cured by your mentioned 3rd pedal) and the lack of small storage compartments.
And i think the arangement of where the alcantara on the steering wheel is, is the wrong way around.
Otherwise this is the first french car in a big while that i am actually very interested.
@@nirfz I didn't notice the Alcantara but you're right - other do the same silly design (Alfa 4C sports wheel, Nissan 370Z Nismo, etc)

He is on lovecars but he is also on these episodes, series was aired in 2018, they brought more hosts in for more segments, personally preferred the dynamic with the old 4 but they are all still there

I thought this show was cancelled, but apparently it's back again. I wonder if we get it here in the states.
It actually all began at Alpine with the A106 from 1955. And the A110 was just an update of the A108 from 1961.

Better show than Top Gear!Better qualified drivers and more variety of subjects,and if anyone knows of a better allround driver than Tiff I want to hear about them.
Sat in 2 Alpines last week at My Renault/Dacia/Alpine Dealer to take my car in for a service and it is a lovely car one was A110S in Alpine Blue the other an A110GT in Black . If i had £60k which the A110S was going for i would buy it over a Cayman or a BMW Supra or Toyota Z4.
You collectively gave it a Golf diesel score, are you sure you've driven the same car as your colleagues? It sounds really harsh.

I think it’s a unique, good looking car with pretty good performance figures, but I think it’s too expensive.

Some feedback: the scores came with no reasoning, which would be a notable omission anyway, but given the discrepancy between the positive comments in the video, the amazing reviews everywhere in the world, and the resulting scores you gave, it's a much bigger issue here. Totally confusing. Also, will most people will value Ronnie O'Sullivan's feedback on a car? People value expertise...

Ronnie o Sullivan is on fifth gear?
Never seen them say so many good things and then not score accordingly. Typical British motoring journalists never mark anything higher than the German equivalent. Johnny wouldn't have sold out with a 7.

I do like the new A110 styling, but I'm still not sure if I would have it over the Porsche 718 Cayman S, let alone the GTS.

I am aware that the flappy paddle shift is lighter and a bit faster shifting than me. I'd rather have a manual box & lsd on the axle, skip lunch & take a good dump before driving.
I’d have the same if I’m honest, but I like food aswell, so no skipping lunch for me ;D

Don't know any japanese car that looks similar to that language.
For some reasons Japanese in Europe have bad names, they make "shitty" cars, which is probably funny for any knowledgeable people because they saved the European industry with their methods. People are easily influenced if you know what i mean.

Are they offering the new A110 with a manual? It seems like the perfect car for it, and the reason I could never love the Alfa 4C was due to a lack of a manual 'box

Nope they said they could only afford to develop one gearbox and most people are fat lazy idiots who prefer a computer to drive for them, even in a lightweight sports car...
To be fair, gearboxes in a transverse mid engines are always pretty horrible. Id still prefer one though..
The 4c did get a manual outside the US. It wasn't very good.

i have heard that they had not enough money to do a manual gear box , they preferred to invest in the light chassis/body/piece and road holding

@@campkira You need to drive one to realize it's not underpowered... Hard to get parts and very expensive? It's fuckin Renault parts, aluminium ones might be a bit expensive due to the material but otherwise... Insurance is not that much, in France with full insurance it's about 600€ a year.

Scored like the masses who worship German cars for little quantifiable reason....They might as well have said "nice car but not a VW/BMW/Porsche".
The new one's 700 lbs heavier than the original, which really sucks. If they made it 1500 lbs, or less, I'd take it.

This is the worst review of the alpine I've ever watched. Even Gordon Murray said this is one of the best car on sale today and even benchmarked his upcoming hypercar against it.
