The Two Rock sounds amazing. Two Rock amps always bring out the best of really great, top-notch pedals sound mans it makes them sound as good as they are supposed to.
Currently building a board around the “Gladio.” I had the Duelist, but Gladio just seemed more amp like and really gave up the goods through the Ceriatone Mini 20 (Dumble clone). Gonna use the Gladio as a clean boost, with some hair around it, just too goose the beautiful Ceriatone’s front end. 🔥 I may add another Duelist to “stack” and see just how much better it may sound…? Thanks for the video, it solved a lot of questions I had! Best! ✌🏼
Excellent description of the Duelist being a little more aggressive. The Gladio is a little more neutral in its tone maybe more smooth and less raw. The pedals are killer but I’m digging the edge of the Duelist a bit more. Great job and killer guitar!
This was a really good demo! I had the Duelist, but sold it and bought the Gladio, but after hearing them “stacked” I guess I’m going to buy another Duelist and try it… Best! ✌🏼
I have been looking and needed a push. Well it has been hard to decide and your demo convinced me I that I needed both of them. So bought them both just now. Your playing is outstanding and your demo of both was well done to say the least. Thank you
this is the best demo of these two pedals: and stacking them...!!!YOU ARE GREAT!!! Your tone and playing is VERY VERY GOOD, and youre soo casual about this all, Respect maan!!!!!
You’re gonna dig the Gladio, if the “D” style amp is your thing. I’m building a whole new pedal board around mine, too go with my “D” style Ceriatone amp. The pedal is glorious. Glorious Gladio! 🔥 Enjoy! ✌🏼
Has anyone playing in a room alone, ever had a better tone....in the history of the instrument? Dear God this video is about to cost me more than $900 and we're in a recession
Im right there with u. I was going to buy a Gladio earlier, but saw the Duellist was in stock at the same shop, so decided to get the Duellist first. Cant wait to hear it and cant wait until i can accompany it with the Gladio. Probably shouldnt buy either financially speaking, but man, they just sound too good. Looks like its ramen for a while. 😂🤣
Sasha, you need 4 of them and a coupla switcheroo to be able to switcth them round and round!!!, Im into jazz and just tryin to replace my DOD/Shoe Looking Glass with another pedal, and the Gladios II side sounds thick enough, getting a LYRock "clone" so I konw its sort of gambling, but .....
You should give us the tone with just the amp on clean so we can hear what the pedal brings to the table. It will make it a bit more objective. Also, it will be interesting if those pedals make a big difference using a cheaper amp, that two rocks is $$$$$
it's a plasure listen your perfomance and analysis of guitars and pedals. On my opinion The winner is GLADIO be cause its sounds combine better with singlecoil pickups.
Is the duellist powered on 18v? I know on the Gladio there is no choice and it is 9v always. Great review, I also have the duellist and it is a great pedal and on the waiting list for Gladio. Do we really have to stack two 400$ pedals? Probably not, we are just suckers for marketing and latest fashion in my opinion. Hope I will quit some say and do my scales instead :). Just couldn't resist on the Gladio, it is shiny :)
Could I trouble you to tell me what the colour of that Strat is? It's absolutely beautiful!! Sensational video btw, just the demo I was looking for. Cheers
Great review. I have the Duellist, and I don't like it. That's just my opinion. Maybe I'll try the Gladio, but I recently bought the Vemuram Shanks ODs-1. Let me tell you, people who don't have the Shanks don't know what they are missing out on. Just an incredible overdrive pedal.
I purchased both to determine which I liked best and sell the other. I much prefer the gladio, it has a very thick, full sound to my ear that the duelist did not have. I prefer the BluesBreaker style I get from my morning glory over the duelist and I didn’t really like its tubescreamer side. Anyway, my point is you may be in the same boat as me and like the gladio a lot, they do not sound similar to me in person.
@@matthewcole6456 yup. And the idea of stacking these two $400 pedals is really dumb. I mean each pedal already includes two sides - lol. Stacked together - that’s four overdrives. And then my boss waza blues driver still sounds thicker and better to me.
Well i didnt like the duellist as well...i found it wasnt the best ts or bb style pedals i tried. That said I’m loving the Vemuram ODS and Jan Ray! I also have Bjfe ods on the board. I will defo get a Gladio to try tho :) and a Kingsley :)
Was thinking about getting a Duellist before it even became "famous". I ended up getting a Mad Professor Supreme (Matt Schofield's signature pedal who is one of few people who has reached tonal nirvana in my opinion). The Supreme is super underrated, dual channel as well, super responsive in both channels and stackable. Also much cheaper than both. I'm not saying that these pedals are not amazing or anything but there's tons of amazing pedals out there that don't get the recognition they deserve.
Damn that amp sounds killer. I have the gladio. Its truly great. Sounds light-years apart through my victory V30 compared to this. Great playing to say the least
@@maxguitarstore actually they are 6L6. I do really love the way you play. I'm looking at getting the dualist due mainly to the fact you can split the sides of it and run independently with a switcher. The gladio does sound great but it's only downfall for my set up is that you can't split the sides. It forces me to have to choose. I'm a set and forget/ preset kind of dude. When I get a pedal I like and I find the sweet spot.... it stays there idefinitly. Pedals like the gladio make me want to constantly tweek to find all these different tones....shit I never stop tweaking and barley just play the damn guitar. I recently bought a jam pedals double dreamer. It is good but not great. Needless to say I have the gladio, double dreamer, a JHS morning glory and some other dirt pedals up for sale on reverb. I think the duelist will fulfill my blues breaker and tubescreamer needs. Especially since they can be tweeked to play nice with the V30. It can be a bit picky with dirt pedals.
@@therangersinger Thanks man! I didn't know the V30 was 6L6 :) Cornerstone is working on an update for Gladio where the channels can be split using TRS cables. Shouldn't be very long I think! That should make the choice harder for you. You're welcome :D - Sasha
@@therangersinger Ehy man! Yeah as the good Sasha anticipated we're at work on a version with both independent channels to be used with trs jack in an external looper... 😉 That maybe could be of your interest more

I have both. very apples to oranges. The Gladio is much gainier than the Protien and they don't sound similar. I think the Duelist and Protien would be a better comparison. Why didnt you test it through a fender like amp? The pedals are dumble voiced and so is your amp, this gives the overal sound so much compression. I really don't like both of them in this setup. I know you have a lot of good amps.. See these pedals are made for people that can't afford a real one or a two rock.

I did get both of them and it is astonishing. Four different gains stages all of them milky. All you need is a clean amp with some headroom.
Dualist drive B into Gladio drive A is just about the greatest tone I’ve ever heard
I need to find a reviewer who just plays some bar chords and a major scale, cause that’s what’s gonna happen when I get those pedals. 😂
