I have the 90mm 8s with the 1950 motor. I shaved 700g of weight off the aircraft all around(it’s difficult, do not attempt), and I but giant 2x4s 7200 80C batteries along with a 3rd party 15 blade fan that was more expensive than that 64mm f22, and I’m going to be super excited to see 150mph. I must admit that not all the parts are here, but they will be this summer, and if my math is correct that’s my theoretical top speed in zero wind. I get 7 minutes off those batteries, but only 4 minutes if I’m showing off. Mind you that during testing I drained 50% of my 2x4s3000 test batteries in less than 30 seconds, and absolutely cooked them. I’ve spent more than $1500 on this monster.
WOW!, many thanks for sharing Captain!; the take off with the F-22 Raptor had me on the edge of my seat!; superb looking (and flying sound wise) Planes; it also reminded me of how you can (and need to) fly within VLOS and still have a lot of fun !!!
The F-16 servos control both the ailerons and elevators together, so when you pull back, the ailerons pull up on both sides, spoiling the lift and increasing the turn radius. Also it has a conventional horizontal stabilizer and elevator setup, not stabilators like the F-22. That’s why I prefer the 64mm F-22. If Freewing had added 2 elevator servos like on the old E-Flite 64mm F-16 it would be way better (not to say they can’t be added by the consumer.) Great video!
Excellent Comparison Video. Thank You Steve.
I love these Jet reviews! Great video!!
That was great Steve! Both cool looking birds.
Hey you didn't load and test weapons......
Loving RC plane week, Cap'n! I dug out my old Calypso Mini sailplane that the family got me after my folks passed away back in 2011. I had stopped flying it after the rudder broke and life got busy, but you've made me remember just how much fun an RC plane is to fly- so I've repaired the rudder and found (surprisingly) that the battery still holds a charge so I'm hoping to head out for a flight this weekend.
Now it's time to start deciding what new plane to get 🙂. Thanks as always for the best drone and RC content on the internet!
Great to hear!
@CAPTAINDRONE798 Hey Captain I noticed you're using an ix12. Have you had any issues with it? I've heard people complaining about it. I'm thinking of getting one from someone that hardly used it and it looks new. It's practically free for the price he's selling it to me. So let me know thanks.
@@TheMrskydog My iX12 is very old and still works, but I upgraded earlier in the year to the ix14. The iX12, with age, had a light burnt out in the color display, so not as bright outdoors, and the operating system often crashed on me (had no effect on flying planes), just meant I had to reboot. I keep it as a backup radio in case my ix14 goes out of commission.
@CAPTAINDRONE798 ok thanks for info. Happy flying.
Pretty cool, FPV to the max.
Welcome back to the channel.
Doggone it Commander!!!! For me that was incredible as usual!!! Maybe by the end of the summer I’ll be ready for one!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I like those a lot!!!
That F22 is beautiful!
Agreed
This is so cool keep posting
2 nice RC planes and test Steve
have to wait a bit until house bill's come down but they look great complete kit about right good review's again Steve keep them coming
Have the ice and snow melted yet? I'm really looking forward to watch you try out more scooters. If the scooters are dangerous I would like to see you put out a public service announcement warning people of the dangers.
As always, I love your videos, keep up the good work. Thanks.
Great video. Nice review
The F16 is definitely the better in almost every category except for stability. The F-22 is just such a stable platform!
Hey! Great vid!
Thank you so much Steve very cool just like you
Hi Steve....Really nice airplanes.........👍
Your skills with all manner of planes have evovled. Wow! That runway is bumpier than my bald head in a beehive. 🍺cheers
first class video steve
Wow. A perfect place to fly . I fly here trees all around.
Just got new F22 64 mm ,I just need a receiver for it.
God bless, take care
Which receiver would be good if I have a battery that’s 2200 mA 4S, 125 cell .I do have a TS radio master control . Let me know. I appreciate it. Either way God bless. Thanks, Steve.
Great video sir
nice flying cap! you got me to buy my first cetus x & dive into the world of fpv drones 🛩️
Great! FPV can become addictive
If that F22 had duel tail rudders. What a plane that would be.
Really great video as always.
Best wishes 👍
The 90mm version has that! Also has flaps, retractable gear, and lights
@@aerospacematt9147 but costs a fortune!
@@paullepine4765 oh yeah definitely! But I’ve heard it’s worth it.
very cool
I would love to see you converting a plane into fpv with head tracking!
Good afternoon sir Steve shout out coming from Philippines.. watching your video since 2016 I'm just wondering if when are you going to make another video about budget drone✌️
wow that's a huge 4s battery! and it's so fast!
Scale speed on the F-16 is 1,680 km/h or 1,043 mph.
The real life F-16 can hit 920 mph at sea level or 1,350 mph at 40,000 feet.
if you like the 64mm f22 i really recomend the 90mm one its harder to fly and you do need more space but its so acrobatic and fun
I do have it, but gotta wait for my snow to melt for the Maiden.
Steve what are you using for a controller? Looking forward to this weeks review, great job as always.
For RC planes I use a Spektrum brand radio. If you are getting into RC planes then a Spektrum NX6 or NX8 would be perfect.
I have a question on the f22 raptor how long would it fly on a 4s 2200 50c
I like them
this looked like fun, my money was on the f16 because of less drag. style wise i still like the old look of f16/rafale/f104 nimble jets but i would love to see an old mirage 2000 delta wing to see if it makes a difference
Can I get and EDF Motor that is big or powerful enough to powerful a Light single or double seat plane? I think it's smoother than a front propeller plane.
so elevators a tualy push the rear of the plane down to lift the nose so you get downforce from the ailerons when you pull up wich isnt ideal for takeoff, thats why the f16 takes longer to lift off, its also why i personaly prefer a plane with separate ailerons or a delta wing that doesnt push you entire plane down when you want to go up
Very high detailed jets .. looks as if it’s real . In reality the raptor should overcome the f16 though 😅 .. thanks for perfect video buddy 👌🏻
Amigo el f16 es estable a baja velocidad..? Preciosos modelos 🛩️
What 4S batteries are u using? I feel the 25C isn't giving enough for the 64mm..
Spektrum Smart Battery 2200 mAh 4S lipo. The C rating is for sustained speed. So at 25 I’ll hit max speed in short runs which is why I back off speed on the turns.
I was wondering how fast the big quads fly like Chimera 7? About the same speed?
I’d say the speed of the Chimera would be similar or slightly faster if a small weight 6s battery is used.
Hi captain - i have some 3s batteries. They should be ok for the raptor? Or will it be too under powered in your experience.? Thanks k w
Probably somewhat underpowered
Ok thanks @@CAPTAINDRONE798
As much as I love jets, I prefer to fly a drone. The planes take so much area to fly and enjoy. I have a plane that I bought 20 years ago and only flew it once, then put it back in the box, where it still lives! I would have liked to see you use the reverse thrusters.
Just wait until head tracking setups become mainstream and we finally get full auto pcp cannons, I assure you this will be the future of robot wars. Just a bunch of people in replica cockpits with ar headsets on dogfighting. I'm so excited for it!
Two of my favorite everyday flyers, the third is the Rafale 64mm. Hopefully one day someone can come up with durable retractable gears for these smaller planes.
Hi , you flew these without gyros? Would you say the f-22 is more stable in turns and low speeds? Great thanks
They are both very stable. The F-22 is probably a bit more stable.
Thanks captain -so there were no gyros in your flights ? You make flying them easy. ! Would you say they are easy to fly ? Thanks for your vids..@@CAPTAINDRONE798
Hi captain- are these two jets easy to fly without gyros? Thanks @@CAPTAINDRONE798
👍
Which is easier and more fun to fly?
They are equally as easy to fly. The F16 with the rudder control is easier to handle on windy days.
Go fast and yank the stick equals snapped foam wing
Hey we have a lot in common 😂
change the esc to a 6s capable 60a esc and run a 6s or 5s lipo 1800 you will see at least 80 to 90mph
A rudder is not going to make your turns tighter my friend, it will just make them coordinated
As a drone pilot I fly with both sticks in turns & with a rudder I get some amazing tight turns.
Genuine curiosity here; why wouldn't the rudder give tighter/faster turns than tilting?
Why not use fpv camera on planes, I'm terrible at Los flying lol
I have done FPV on planes in two separate videos. FPV is best if you are high and away from trees.
As an owner of two F-16's, the F-16's are TOO fast. They can get dangerously out of hand crazy fast.
First!
The 64mm versions of those planes are both dogs. The F16 has a bit more power and speed, but still not enough IMO.
Why not change your name instead of giving us that Drone pilot story every video.
Ahhh… so I see you are new to my channel and probably older then age 40 and old school. I’m a year 2013 drone pilot with a drone channel. In the year 2020 the word “DRONE” referred to anything unmanned and remotely piloted (drones, helicopters, planes), so I taught myself how to fly all of them & the channel mainly focuses on those products. Hence CAPTAIN DRONE means I fly anything the world calls a drone (plane, helicopter, drone), What viewers find amazing is that as a true FPV DRONE pilot, I quickly learned how to fly RC planes & Helicopters within weeks & fly them well. Now I can tell you are new to my channel because I only repeated the DRONE PILOT statement for a month or two and never again.
Making a big ddal about rudder lol. 70% of rc jets are bank and jank and can turn on a dime if you want it too.
If you have never used a rudder as designed, you are certainly missing out. Ailerons will only get you so far in a turn, and are of no use with a cross wind.
👍
