Agreed. I watched 7 hour vods of VH in one sitting.
The devs should add a crafting recipe for chromatic steel nuggets using raw carbon and chromatic iron nuggets. The recipe would be the same as the ingots, it would just use the nuggets/raw form of the materials. Plus, with how carbon is crafted and used, it would be the exact proportions needed so that they are getting the same amount of steel in the long run. I hope iskall sees this
You didn't ask, but if you were curious: Honing is the act of sharpening a blade--like a sword--with a whetstone/grindstone. In sharpening your sword, you are making sure it can perform at its best when next you need it for fighting, or defending yourself. The word honing in this case means sharpening yourself so that you can be better at what you are trying to achieve. To hone is to improve, or make a fair attempt at improvement.

@@scottsbeans That is also a correct usage of honing, you hone in on something, albeit that is a more recent usage of the word.
Time flies equally fast when watching Vault Hunters! Honestly I'm loving these long episodes and never get bored or feel they're too long!

Iskall is the only one who has me at the edge of my seat while watching his vault runs. This guy looks at the time and sees it has 36 seconds and thinks it's a good idea to mine DECORATION blocks. I mean wow. That 4 second exit had me as rilled up as any good suspenseful thriller movie out there. Vault run 10/10

There's something so charming about the part of early-game where you haven't started building a base yet, but you've got all your chests plopped down anyway because you need _somewhere_ to put all your stuff đ
I like shaders, really love how it makes the overworld look nicer and make it way easier to watch mining in caves, and in the Vault, it really adds to the ambience
you don't happen to know what shaders Iskall is using, do you?

You can put a hopper under a campfire with trapdoors surrounding all but 2 sides(front, and bottom) and the food will funnel into a chest or barrel or whatever other storage options you have the hopper pushing into!
26:21 It comes from the word "hone" which has a couple of different, though similar and equally relevant, definitions: 1) to smooth and sharpen (a blade), 2) refine or perfect (something) over a period of time.

Considering how you enjoy using the elytra in the vault - maybe it's an idea for higher levels to have a sort-of armored elytra vault gear that has lower armor/defense for its level but elytra functionality. ^^
I think it's interesting to have some risk around using the elytra in the vault, but that does sound very cool

The javelin is legit. A great way to zone out creepers and other hard hitting mobs. Nice implementation :)
Inspired by your new playthrough, I finally started my own Vault Hunters playthrough. Speedran to open my first vault, got a X-mark room for for the first room in the vault. Like any reasonable Iskall enjoyer I took the chance to dig down because greed is good. Proceeded to die horribly. 10/10 would recommend.
It cracks me up how Iskall is so eager to run vaults, he forgets everything else! Bucket? Nope. Shard pouch? Nahhh. Basic shelter? Maybe later! đđđ
Also, I gotta plug the VH merch. I got the Velara t-shirt and it is sooooo comfy! â€
I never got into Iskall videos because I'm relativerly new to hermitcraft and his vault hunters seemed too complicated to get into but now is the perfect time. I'm strapped in for the ride and I'm really enjoying so far, good stuff man
I think one thing you are finding already with this play through is that a linear quest system can sometimes become... boring, and often becomes annoying if you want to replay the pack. You might want to talk with the team about changing the quest system to be non-linear, so you could do them in any order, like advancements in vanilla.

By the way, I know that Scott/Smajor hasn't responded to you about getting back into MCC, but would you consider messaging him in case he forgot to bring you back into the event? I think you would be a great fit and have a lot of fun in MCC, and I would love to see you participate!
If that's not appealing, there's the option of asking Grian, Scar, Impulse, Pete, HBomb, CPK, or any of the many players who know you and are in MCC to ask Smajor what's going on. Or you may not be interested in MCC at all anymore, in which case I'm sorry for bothering you with this message.

Loving these videos, and now...I am addicted to Vault Hunters. I saw these two episodes, downloaded it, and spawned on an island...WITH HERMIT CRABS!!! They are amazing!!!! And then I was able to pick up the villagers from the village and take them to my island and now I can make a safe little village here. Can't wait to get into my first dungeon as I'm just starting to collect the ores I'll need. Lots to learn, but I'm loving Vault Hunters! Thank you for creating this, Iskall, you're amazing! :)

Loved this video! The happy energy is so good. I have been loving watching the pack, bit on the fence about playing it myself (I'm not a combat or speed type). This has been inching my closer and closer to giving it a try. (Once i get my PC running again, hahaha)

This chest monster makes me feel better about not yet building my base and still living in a block of planks in my minecraft world. Please don't keep though, I want to see what you'll build (or you can stuff the monster in a pretty base instead)

I finally got around to installing this modpack as soon as I saw your first video and I'm loving it so far!
Is there any reason why you don't make the vault crate invulnerable to despawning? Several modpacks have items that never despawn when dropped because they're 'too important'. Surely the vault crate would be an ideal candidate.
Today's Fact: The world's largest land predator is the polar bear, which can weigh up to 1,500 pounds.
I REALLY feel like the soul shard pouch should be one of the equipable items. Like belts or necklaces or whatever. I've also left the damn thing at home while going into a vault and one time I accidentally threw it away while trying to pick something up.
Awesome Episode! Love the paste you go through the game very enjoyable! Honing is a similar word to sharpening, I had to look it up though :P I was screaming at my screen when you didn't pick up your crate. Glad it didn't despawn! You know that chests make a very tasteful floor design, you should consider not only walls of chests, but also floors xD
You should put a sign on your vault portal with a list reminding you what to bring in to the vault.

I have to say that I love the direction Vault Hunters is going. You and the team have obviously worked hard to balance the rewards to the challenge, and it looks like a blast to play. My alpha server died out, but I might start up again in single player now

26:22 in english, honing is literally a process done to improve the sharpness and quality of a knife or other blade. metaphorically, honing is used to refer to other actions which are being improved, like the skill which is being improved in this example

Honing is when you polish and sharpen the edge of a blade, so in this situation it probably means bettering your skills.
I'm following this series with my own vault hunter playthrough at home. So much fun! I spent 4 hours or so, clearing up my storage mess lol
