After watching doctor4t and his video covering Making a $50,000 Eldritch Minecraft Mod (for MrBeast) I was inspired to test out the mod he and a team of very talented mod makers made. After playing it I can say this mod is amazing they smashed it however is it actually worth $50,000 barnacle bucks? LETS FIND OUT!

The block mechanics are actually pretty easy to code, as it can basically be done by a series of vanilla events: Turn blocks into falling ones, apply random velocieties and there you go. Now you just need to use a tag to determine whether its a normal falling block or a mod one and make the mod ones model spin

The fact that this dimension is very strict with where you go, really takes away the exploration and adventure factor, thus making it not as fun as most dimension mods.
This isn't a dimension mod, but a quick boss battle meant for a single playthrough. You can't really compare a linear boss battle mod to an exploration focused dimension mod in any way, so saying it's less fun is 100% opinionated and you shouldn't say it in a tone that implies that's absolute.
MrBeast: I'll commission this and no-one will notice, I may use it someday though...

If i had a nickel for every adult man that wasted 50k on something that could have been created for 10x less, i would have 2 nickels, which isn´t a lot but it´s weird it happend twice.

According to google, average hourly salary for a game dev in the US is ~52$. According to the credits screen at the end of the mod there are about 10 people that worked on it, so if he had paid them hourly, the combined amount of hours they would have needed to work on the mod for it to cost 50.000€ would be 96, which i feel like is probably pretty close to how much time actually got spent making the mod. So i doubt its overpriced, or at the very least wouldnt have been able to be made for 10x less. Software devs are expensive.

Honestly the story is sick AFF, and the visuals go really really well with Minecraft's art style, where were they when Minecraft story mode was being made. But the gameplay elements aren't really there, it would be sick as a Minecraft realm. But, there aren't really additions to the vanilla game. I love the theme, story and bosses and looks so so much, though it's a short lived shot of dopamine like mr.beasts challenge mods on his gaming video.
I feel like there could have been something done to tie the story better with the rest of the game, maybe the play should spend a little more time trying to figure out their environment before the bosses take notice. And just overall the realm act more realm like. I love the island idea though, it could be used to like do a finale tie of the lore with the already existing dimensions. Maybe with some lore elements added into the overworld hinting at the thought of developing a portal in the agent cities.
Summery. Feels like a wild adventure of it's own, not really an addition of Minecraft

The only way I see this as worth 50k is if it did something like this for the overworld, nether, ocean monument, and end also having custom armor and weapons aswell as a quest system

This was a full team of 7 professional developers with 2 added on later working for 2 months, doing what's essentially a rush job? Granted, this is the gaming industry, so people are underpaid, but it's still a perfectly reasonable price for how fast they had to ship it out. I don't think they were working 9 to 5, but looking at how it was split between them? It's not a price unreasonable for the work, skill, and time they put into it.
Congrats of making me a minecraft fan again also was it worth the 50k i mean its amazing but was it worth it?
