The train was 507002. After the derailment, no major damage was made to the train (Unlike 507006 at Kirkby, which went for scrap afterwards). So future wise, they have added a new livery onto the train. Now titled Hope University Train. Although since the new Class 777s have entered service, this train is now scrapped. Sad times.

No I believe that these are called trap points which are set to derail the train on purpose in order to prevent collisions.
