Banjo Kazooie is a classic and a part of gaming history. And replaying this game has shown me just how much I continue to love it. Everything from the charm, the simple story, to the amazing music! This is what put RareWare on the map and you can recognize them with their more recent titles of Yooka Laylee and Sea of Thieves. But getting to know Grant Kirkhope has left me a new appreciation of the soundtrack and what the songs mean to him.

actually while Banjo-Kazooie are the third fighter's pass dlc pack they're the fourth dlc fighter when Piranha Plant is taken into consideration.

yeah except it can be bought separately in the eshop and due to the fact that it was a limited time free offer to start with it's officially the first dlc fighter which makes Joker the second officially released dlc fighter try looking up the dlc for Smash Ultimate on the wikipedia website.

I felt the same way when I tried American Fruity Pebbles, after growing up on the discontinued Canadian version.
This was the first episode of the Completionist I ever watched and I'm feeling a wave of nostalgia.
Banjo Kazooie is such a good game and I hope they make a new version or a remake some time soon

If you have Banjo-Tooie or Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts n Bolts, you can collect the Stop N Swap eggs and you can use them in Banjo-Tooie to get rewards.
You could collect them in the original game as well, but it didnt do anything lol

In the age of Crash and Spyro successful remakes, how the hell didn’t Microsoft brought this back fully remade? What are they thinking?
That’s the question lots of Banjo fans have been asking for ages whilst I do actually prefer both Crash Bandicoot and Spyro I can’t deny that Banjo Kazooie and Tooie both should get a remastered collection plus a new game too
Banjo Kazooie is one of the very few games I’ve completed 100%. It does completion perfectly and doesn’t make it feel overwhelming.
Such a heartfelt episode. Very fond memories of playing this game with my friend just a couple summers ago. Great times. This episode along with Spring having now arrived has made everything seem brighter. Amazing work.
I remember the one thing my friend and I would do together was play video games. After realizing we both loved the Nintendo 64, he came over and we started combing through games, and all of a sudden he's like, what's this?
Holy jesus, you've never played Banjo Kazooie?
I popped it in and let him play, and we had a blast. It was the first time playing that game in a long time, and it was baffling just how much I remembered.
I think he had a blast too. This game will always be one of my absolute favorite to complete anytime.
I'm playing through both Banjo-kazooie games for the first time without any nostalgia and they still hold up today. They're both fantastic games!

It pains me when people say that the love for this game is purely nostalgic and the genre is inherently bad, because I also replayed the game as an adult and it's amazing. I know that my childhood didnt determine my current opinion because Tooie, a game I liked even more than Kazooie as a kid, didnt hold up as well. Kazooie is just so elegant in its level design and it just feels amazing to explore each environment and learn its secrets, puzzles, challenges, and characters.

I love this episode, and I love how much the show has improved this season. Jirard, you seem happier and more confident than ever. The format is the best it's ever been and I think it's now perfect. The show used to be informative but a little on the boring side, but now it's informative AND fun and interesting. Episodes used to run longer than necessary and now they're just the right length. I've watched the show through all its ups and downs for years, and this is finally what I feel like the show always should have been, what it was always trying to be. Well done. Love the improvements and how the show is running these days. It's better than ever.
Awesome that you're going back to your earlier works. I wish other channels would do that too since so much changes over time.

I had a smile on my face the whole time Jirard. Love how you break down every element including the sound design. My favorite game of all time, I play through every October around Halloween. This game taught me to search every nook and cranny of each new world, there was something fun to discover behind every corner. Any other game I play, I still do this and a lot of times am left disappointed when there is NOTHING there- why add in an extra bit of hallway or room to explore when there is NOTHING! Banjo-Kazooie did world exploration right and I'm always satisfied when I find a new mumbo token around a corner or a string of musical notes.
Rare Replay is totally worth it for this and most of the games in Rare's library. It would be neat to have an episode on it.

I loved this game so much as a kid. So many fond memories of it and the time spent playing it. One of the coolest games I ever played, hands down. I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say you haven't played the DKC games with their methods of saving? Beginning of world 5 of DKC 2 springs to mind.
@@Gunmageprime05 I've beaten all three and I think that their archaic saving methods (particularly DKC2) are their biggest flaw.
Glad to see you finally revisiting this game. When you announced the New Game Plus series it was this game I instantly thought of as it was Banjo-Kazooie which was my first video I watched from you. Love this game and love your channel!
Also since you asked in the comments: My favourite song from Grant Kirkhope has to be the Click Clock Wood theme. The moment I entered the spring part of the level and the music started playing will be forever engraved in my memory. I was pretty happy that he hummed it in your interview with him.^^
I love this game since I was a kid (7 yrs old) back in 1998. I played it on my Jungle Green N64 back then. So much nostalgia!! Thanks man for this awesome video.

When you talked about rusty bucket bay and how you had changed and how you tackled it reminded me of how I took to it the second time when banjo kazooie came back on the xbox. I couldn't help but laugh at the similarity and kinship from one gamer to another.
