- "Anthropoid" is based on the extraordinary true story of “Operation Anthropoid,” the code name for the Czechoslovakian operatives’ mission to assassinate SS officer Reinhard Heydrich, the main architect behind the Final Solution and the Reich’s third in command behind Hitler and Himmler and the leader of Nazi forces in Czechoslovakia. The film follows two soldiers from the Czechoslovakian army-in-exile, Josef Gabčík (Cillian Murphy) and Jan Kubiš (Jamie Dornan), who are parachuted into their occupied homeland. With limited intelligence and little equipment in a city under lockdown, they must find a way to assassinate Heydrich and change the face of Europe forever.

it's so interesting to me how jamie is more of the "hollywood hunk" type, more likely to be cast in roles like 50 shades, and he definitely IS beautiful and hot, but it's cillian that usually gets more of the attention in these comments. I love how Jamie can do pretty much anything in acting. He's been a sexy billionaire who loves s&m, i just watched him as a sexy phycho serial killer and now a sexy warrior. And just saw preview for him in an action film. He's just perfect in my eyes! Cillian and Sean were great too. This movie is amazing especially the church scenes

not remake more like telling the same historical story in a different way
Justine I guess that also can be said of the different versions of the film 'Ben Hur' there being now a 2016 version which has differences. Also the title here is not the same. I saw the trailer and immediately thought the film was related to the earlier film 'Operation Daybreak' indeed inspired by.
