      1. Trump tried to coup the government.
      2. Couping the government would make the government illegitimate, as well as override the constitution.
      3. An illegitimate government and the destruction of the founding compact is the end of a nation in contiguous history.
      4. This would give him immunity from trying to destroy America and the constitution fundamentally.
Therefore, if the SCOTUS that is supposedly the interpreter and upholder of the constitution aids in its destruction, then there is no respect to be had, as they will have destroyed one of the world's greatest jewels.

I must hesitate to use the title "Supreme Court Justice" before the name Alito. Instead, I think, Supreme Knucklehead Alito is more fitting. Is he is not the slightest concerned about displaying ignorance, contradiction or a contempt for reason? Alito stated that a president could conceivably, as an official act or duty, order the military to assassinate a *domestic* rival while in office. But (perhaps in an attempt to blunt the tyrant within) Alito's arguement added the assassin would (or should?) be under no obligation to break the law.
    What?!
So let me get this straight: The president is allowed to order (or personally carry out himself) whatever illegal act he wants. And, according to Alito, the subordinate is the responsible party?
*That* is madness! And who would want to work for a criminal president except other criminals? It's the dumbest thing that has ever come out of the mouth of a Court Justice. You just can't square it with reality.
So let me get this straight, again: In Alito's mind, any US president can conceivably do whatever he wants, with impunity, and rightfully blame others for letting him to do it? That's crazy!
What could it be? Has Alito transformed into an idiot? Is he suffering from dementia?
No! It's clearly evident there's a person sitting on the highest court in the land who truly likes the idea that our country should be run by a corrupt and fascist dictator.
And let's not kid ourselves: The majority on the Supreme Court, to one degree or another, agree with Alito. And when we, as a nation, must finally, *officially* accept that our President, our leader, our representative, our example is *officially* above the law, that he is not responsible for anything, then how long will it be before America breaks down into lawless chaos?
Like the old saying goes, "absolute power corrupts absolutely". The majority on the Supreme Court want Donald Trump to be president again. But if the Conservative Supreme Court majority decides the Constitution allows him to do whatever he wants including amoral, seditious and criminal acts while in office, then they will have unleashed a monster upon the land. If Trump makes it into office again, and especially without firm guardrails to keep us all safe, the countdown to a complete breakdown in America will have officially begun.

I'm all for the Supreme Court giving Presidents total immunity in 2024 so President Biden can remove and disband the Supreme Court the very moment they dare rule total immunity.

So this maga court would agree with trumpy, if he installed landmines and self-firing
killing systems on the boarder! Reminds me of Russia and the DDR.

  • @ceasartimothymarkcallender6141

If the Supreme Court gives him immunity, it leaves Trump open for other judgments from other realms, for the World; let’s hope they make the right call…..otherwise the Supreme Court! looking to see the damage to be fulfilled…..A+.

This should be another 9-0 ruling in Trumps favor. If it actually went against Trump one could expect numerous immediate lawsuits against every Democratic President still alive and every future President.

Not to worry we will win we have 22 million illegals in USA willing to vote then we can continue to pack SC with people we like and once reelected bring in another 22 million so we can never lose.

Its obvious YES TRUMP SHOULD BE GIVEN IMMUNITY.. If he acted to stop others influencing vote counting in their favor, that would be acting for democracy and the constitution.. TRUMP WAS ACTING TO INFLUENCE THE COUNT IN HIS FAVOR, this is quite the opposite, he was not acting as a president on behalf of the constitution and democracy, quite the opposite.. Immunity be damned.

There is no way they are going to let local county DA's bring down former presidents because of novel legal theories that rely on presuming intent to prosecute. If you like someone you assume their intent is good, if you dislike someone you presume its bad. It's all relative to our baseline bias how we interpret intent.
