Can you do a husbandry video on jumping spiders?
Nothing is cuter than a jumper just simply havin a look around lol.
Yessss Iâm actually about to start raising jumper slings to sell wholesale and Iâm so excited
Agree
@@shaunarobertson7687 i wish you the best of luck with your new venture x
@@shaunarobertson7687 good luck iv been doing it for years and my one female has had up to 4 clutches of eggs from a single breeding so itâs about 100 babies each time. As soon as I remove the babies from her enclosure she lays another clutch most was 4 but average 2-3 clutches just have a lot of fruit flies and I like using baby meal worms as well if your interested check my videos out and best of luck bud itâs definitely fun and exciting
@@pumpkinchow I actually have done it but by accident lol before I knew anything about the exotic pet hobby I saw a cute jumper and googled it, saw that you could keep them as pets so ordered one off of eBay... I was afraid of a little one so I ordered an adult female... long story short she laid 3 clutches and I joined some Facebook groups for guidance and raised them until I met a breeder who I sent all of them to (I did release quite a few mostly accidentally LOL) she traded me some mantises and then she eventually sent me a free Curly hair so now Iâm overrun with spiders and phasmids and mantises and scorpions and whip spiders and vinegaroons so she started my new addiction lmao
Jumping spiders are just unreal cute
It is like they're so cute, it doesn't make sense they even exist.
They're amazing, aren't they?
It's almost like it's an evolutionary effort to avoid being killed off for being "scary" or "disgusting".
Yes, nature has realized that cuteness is an effective survival trait in a world dominated by stingy humans.
Yeah they helpt me with my aracned phobia a couple of years ago when i couldent look att pictures. They are so cute that they made me look att other spiders difrently.
This is A really good quality video
@@thornyk4539What's funny is that even though they are arguably the cutest and most often handled of all spiders, most of the large common jumpers actually have a rather nasty bite. It's about on par with a bad yellow jacket sting. I have been picking up and handling wild jumping spiders my entire life without ever knowing they could produce a legit bite. It's almost impossible to get them to actually bite you, from what I can tell, since I have handled them more times than I can count and never once been bitten. They are very chill and friendly little critters.
One thing I've noticed is it's just so hard not to talk to jumping spiders... We have the emerald jumping spiders as a native species here and when I herd them out of the house gently (as protection from my cats) I always have to have a little chat with them as we go. They just seem to be 'listening', I guess? What cute little guys.
I agree...and when you're talking to them, your brain almost tricks you into thinking they understand...or at least mine does...lol.
They seem very expressive with all of their small movements and looking around
They're unbelievably intelligent for their size. In fact, its widely agreed that they are intelligent enough to perceive Humans in a similar way that dogs and cats do. Yes. They recognize us humans.
@@tarantulacollective They are incredibly intelligent for their small size. So much so that it's widely agreed that they can perceive Humans. Which means they recognize and distinguish us from other would be predators. He may not understand what you're saying, but he definitely understands what you ARE, at a similar level as dogs and cats.
Especially when they tilt their head and make eye contact with you lol
I think jumping spiders have the most personality out of the spiders iv seen so far.
Theyâre awesome. I have an adult male jumper, captive born & bred. He has been handled since he was a spiderling and he is super tame & docile. So much so that I named him âBunny.â
@@Jamie_McElroy How do you care for a jumping spider?
When she just looked at the camera like she was so grateful for her little leaf.. my heart.
I know right. My heart melted haha
I swear that jumping spider saluted you âșïž
Jumpers are truly the ambassadors of the spider kingdom.
The rest of the spider kingdom should be very thankful to them. They have caused a lot of people to re-think the squish!
Iâm an arachnophobe trying to get over my phobia and videos like yours make the whole world of a difference for me. You and other you tubers made me think about how fun spiders actually are. I have recently found a baby jumping spider who made me so much more comfortable around spiders. Itâs awful here during winters so I will be keeping my jumper till spring. Itâs been a fun eye opening journey for me. Thank you so much for these videos. They surely make a lot of difference in lives of people who suffer with fear as well as hobbyists seeking not only advice but also inspiration and fun â€ïž.
I also have to say - your enclosures are the best fanciest ones I have seen đ. Like royalty suite for your little ones đ.
there is something really satisfying about the way a Jumping Spider moves
I've been able to resist getting a jumping spider until now, thanks đ
They are pretty awesome!
Omg the tiny salute of the lady jumping spider!
When it comes to a lot of "scary" insects, I find that it always helps to find their little eyes! Even the big house centipedes have tiny little eyes that completely took away my fear.
Yeah, that's how I got over my arachnophobia, Jumping spiders look a lot less alien when you focus on their two larger eyes.
@@TuberoseKisser however...have you ever seen the assassin spider? I don't think I would ever go near that thing.
@@JayTee95 jus did some research and DAMNNN , they low key freaky n im not even an arachnophobe .
@@gseptie yeah I don't care if they have eyes or not, where they are, how many...those things are straight creepy.
Wolf Spiders have a funny face.
5:49- OMG that female jumping spiders dance moves! So cuteeee đž
Wait untill you see a male jumper dance đ€Łđ€Ł
5:11 Jumping spider salute !đ„đ„
Your skill at photography is astounding. Incredible footage of tiny fast moving creatures. Your enclosures are great too. I love your channel. The jumping spiders are awesome in many ways, I just wish they had a longer lifespan.
Thanks for another great video!
Jumping spiders are absolutely adorable. And I'm arachnophobic but enjoy watching channels about arachnids.
Dude, thank you for giving these guys a decently sized enclosure for exploration and exercise. Too many folks on youtube put their jumpies in tiny little spaces and I feel absolutely bad for them. Definitely subscribing.
The jumpers are adorable! That fishing spider is truly intriguing! I love the big water dish you have for it! If you're going to feed it a little fish, that is something I would love to see! :-)
Richard, the only tarantula guy on the entire internet who actually has TWO tweezers to unbox spiders. đ
I have seen lots of tarantula guys and gals, both, use tongs to unbox spiders. Did you hear him say that one of them was venomous? Any other way is pretty unsafe for both you and the spider. Not to mention it would be irresponsible and thereby unprofessional.
I love jumping spiders, their movements and big eyes to look around make them super cute, not threatening at all! :)
Awesome! Wild caught a juvenile male the other day. Typically I don't wild catch, but they're everywhere and I'm not paying $40 to ship something that lives in my garden lol
I did the same. I got one regal male juvenile and 2 bold jumpers male and female. I found em when they were real small and they dont fear me. I can feed em by hand they are really smart.
I looked at a spider $100.
Guy wanted $86 to ship.
I passed.
Those Regal Jumping spiders were very cool. Awesome footage of everything!
Thanks a lot Rick, glad you enjoyed it!
Jumpers are definitely the cutest, most curious, and personable. Amazing colors too.
Green is my favorite colour, so I usually lean towards jumpers with iridescent green chelicerae. Not this time! The red iridescent chelicerae on the second female jumper is gorgeous! Breathtakingly gorgeous! đđ
im here a LOOOOONG time after, but i want to say that it looks like they loved their new homesđ„°
Jumpers seems to have a curiosity and intelligence beyond what should be possible for an arachnid. Fascinating little creatures!
lol she saluted at 05:13
"I think you're gonna like this...."
I KNOW im gonna love this!
Jumping spiders always my favorite
When watching jumping spiders, its like they have an awareness and sentience that other bugs just don't have
Jumpers, without a doubt, were the best. They have such a curious personality. The other Trues were neat too. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
Those fishing spiders!đŹđŹđŹ terrifying! Too many long dangly legs for me to handle đ
Iâm only just getting used to having a jumping spider whoâs helping me with my arachnophobia đ
our main passion are obviously tarantulas and we know far more abouth them then true spiders but we are getting more into T.S. now too... Especially Jumpers, they just too adorable to resist
I had wild fishers at my old house. Never seen a spider so big. Scared the soul out of me. Tarantula Kat has Def helped me get over my fear of spiders
Hello great video unboxing and rehousing Richard
Very cute! The metallic green orchard orb weaver is probably my favorite wild spider. Would love to keep some as pets.
OMG! they are just so beautiful. Totally a fav of mine.
These jumping spiders are adorable. I would name the 2 females, one diva because she was very photogenic and the other beauty because she was sweet. đ your channel and images of the spider family.
I appreciate you sharing ya critters. That third spider was posing so much lol
I have two jumping spiders currently and I love them, they have two very different personalities. One is very curious and the other is shy.
It's like these spiders evolved to become adorable because nature has realized that cuteness is an effective survival trait in a world dominated by stingy humans. Some arachnophobes even use these little guys to get over their phobia.
Omg those jumping spiders đđđtooo cute đ„°
So Nice to see this content. I have arachnophobia and finaly becouse of this channel ordert a jumping spider.
You'll love it. Jumpers are one of the most interactive of arachnid species. They will watch and follow your movements, and are always curiously exploring and watching everything. As spiders go, they are very intelligent and have very good eyesight.
@@seanrallis6714 thats so nice to hear
You will love them! I play with the jumpers around my place all the time. They are easy to identify. Always remember to never pinch them; guide them where you need them to go. They will jump on your hand or you can move them gently one direction or the other with a business card, a pen or your finger when your braver. When my granddaughter was 5 (or 6), I would put her on the bed with a folder. I would put my rosehair T on the bed with her. The spider walked around and if she felt a bit panicky she could use the folder to divert Hairyette to a different direction. Always wash/dry your hands before interacting with any creature. Bug spray, insecticide, hair sprays, styling gels, dog/cat flea collars or repellents, etc may hurt your new friend.
@@deemueller6470 thank you so much with the support. I love the spider community (its yust like one big family)
I can't believe I'm saying this but the jumping spiders are freaking adorable!
5:11 - 5:13 I think she just saluted you !đđ
Your Dolomedes sp. Will get much bigger! So glad to see some great true spiders.
Omg those jumping spiders are so cute!!!
Tom is the spider mafia lol
I must admit I am actually a snake guy but fascinated with spiders. I've had my encounters with wild jumping spiders in the past and they are extremely intelligent and personal. They are definitely my favorite spiders.đ€
Credit to amazing photography and video work .
The enclosures are top notch đ
The jumping spiders by far are the most adorable spiders in the world and the smartest
Bro I was straight boppin on the beat, and getting to watch a sweet little jumping spider was amazing. I just adopted one myself, and they're so interesting to see move around their environment
Aw, what great additions. Jumping spiders are just the cutest. I think I have not heard about fishing spiders before, interesting. Hope to see a feeding clip of all those soon.
They will definitely be coming!
You absolutely will NOT regret getting a P. haematostoma. They are easily my favorite true right now. Very gorgeous as adults.
I used to hate and fear spiders but it took one Phidippus audax to change all that. They are cute and mine at the time loved watching TV. Now we have 4 tarantulas and slowly growing our collection. :)
Thank you for doing this episode. I can imagine how the process of filming can take the fun and intimacy out of your passion. This was very helpful and informative for me, so thank you for taking the time.
The colors of the fangs just blows me away.
Every time they raise they front little legs itâs like if they are saying hi đđœ so cute
Omg so cute! Love the jumpers, other true spiders still make me a little nervous
I'd been trying to get one, too, and when Tom was sold out I went straight to the Eresus Shop đ then I got 6 regal slings! The new additions are amazing, I just love arachnids đ„°
Very interesting additions! Be cool to learn more about that Wandering Spider
I can't have any arachnids, rodents, or insects other than feeders for my leopard gecko. So I really appreciate your channel and others like it, that allow me to vicariously keep all the cool stuff I can't bring in my house because my girlfriend won't let me lol
Very happy to help out! Thanks for watching!

@@JayTee95 lmao if I was found out I'd be dead even before the spider đ€Ł
Well then get a venomous one! GFs are overrated anyway...

I think the biggest true spider I've ever seen was in my mom's basement in Pennsylvania a few years back. it was a Giant Fishing Spider (like the one you have there) and it was just about as big as my hand. gigantic lol
Those jumping spiders are very expressive
I just can't explain how professional your videos look Richardđ€§
Thanks a lot, I appreciate the compliment. Still trying to get them tighter and more professional. Still a lot to learn about filming and editing.
Nice collection. From one spider bro to another: That 6 eye sand spider dude, be very careful. I say this with envy, jealousy, and outmost respect for you as a keeper.
Congratulations on your new true spider collection! Those setups are absolutely beautiful and so are the spiders.
Thank you so much!
@@tarantulacollective No problem! Definitely gives me ideas on enclosures for any arachnids I get in the future.
I have encountered so many different varieties of jumping spiders outsideâŠthey love hanging out in locks and latches on gates and garages. I feel so lucky when I get to see them!
The second jumping spider lady is so cute. I would call her Ruby because of the red on her fangs/face.
Iâm assessed with jumping spiders. I love their little floofy hair on their heads âșïž
That wandering spider actually looks very cool!
Love the new jumpers!! Feeding vids on those guys is gonna be awesome !!
Jumping spiders are my favorite species of spider.
The third jumping spider!
Looked like the one jumping spider was waving hello when you were putting in new home, lol! Very awesome blue/turquoise color.
Those regal jumping spiders are so beautiful!!! omg
Those jumping spiders are gorgeous. I loved the red on the second female

i would love too see a hyllus giganteus in the near future too.
5:12 Jumping Spider SALUTE !

Enjoyed this video. My son has Fishing spiders around his house. It's a woodsy area. Whenever we hear the neighbor kids screaming we know what it is. Lol!!
Cool video
Tom is awesome đđ·ïžđžïžđđż
I watched Kat's and also yours on the jumping spiders. I have 6 of them. Just love how they watch you and know when it's feeding time. They are always watching, what you are doing. Totally different from tarantulas. Cool video Richard âșïž
Only liking the video because of the jumping spiders. LOL I love those little cute things. I have one myself.

Can't wait til you feed the spiders goldfish
My first spider was a regal jumping spider, I fell in love with the little dudes so much that I immediately got another one two weeks later. They have little personalities and are so much fun to watch
the giant fishing spiders are around my house every year. very handleable for me too. really cool spiders
You talking about the light brown one he showed? They look creepy. How do you manage without being bitten?
Coming from a recently converted arachnophobe, there is nothing on this planet more adorable than a P.Regius!
My favorite the jumping spiders.
nice choice!
There seems to be a difference between the coloration on the female jumping spiders chelicerae. Is that just a trick of the lights or do they tend to have variable colors in individual's?
We had a big male Phidippus regius that just showed up an wandered around our house for a few days before we made a little enclosure for him. He was awesome. We had him for about 8 months and then he died. We don't get many of those here so if I find anymore in the house they are going back outside to hopefully populate the area in our garden.
REally appreciate your channel!
I'm glad I got a velvet spider from Tom while he had them! Didn't know he sold out so fast!
Jumping spiders are so darn cute. Other than the jumping part of course.
That tiny jump at 2:55 ahagaha â€ïžâ€ïž
