Where can I buy jumping spiders? Man I’m tired of this.
@@rukuzjedie is this a joke lol
Thank you so much for posting this, Kat! I have been on the hunt for a Phiddipus Regius and Velvet Spiders for a few months now and haven’t had much luck (aside from finding them on some sites I didn’t feel confident about). You’ve mentioned Tom before but I wasn’t sure how stocked he is with spiders so I never reached out to him. So this video and comment have come at the right time. I will be emailing him tonight. ☺️
@@tarantulakat sorta lol I watch the videos not always on CZcams don’t really trust sites and local stores don’t sell any they sell Ts I’m afraid of spiders besides jumpers. This young youtuber that have Ts said I should get a jumper. It a help me with my fear.
I reached out to Tom after discovering & getting addicted, thanks to you Kat. You helped me with my fear. Once I get my enclosure from Cribs, I’ll check back in with Tom on his stock. Thanks for teaching some of us former Arachnophobics how sweet spiders and what a joy it is to keep them!
Kat your becoming quite the Jumping Spider QUEEN!!!!!! LMAO … Friggin FANTASTIC!!!!!!!❤❤🕷🕷❤❤
J U M P I N G S P I D E R S IS THE WAY T O G O
I actually had a red phase male jump into my car outside of my job and just chill on my leg for the longest time until I coaxed him into my hand so I could put him on a tree. I wanted to keep him so bad but I knew my mom would freak out if I brought a spider home😂
So happy to see you get these guys! These guys were my first jumping spiders and I'm happy to say I have a clutch coming very soon. My mama's named Huffy and we love her to pieces, she's incredibly gentle and nice to everyone.
Nice to see you using the new enclosures you just got! They really look amazing, especially the one with the pointed roof. I don't know if I'd ever get jumping spiders, but they are pretty adorable. I always look out for similar ones out under the rocks in front of my house.
If your looking for jumping spiders they might be under rocks but a more promising way to find them is just on signs, trees, flowers and other plants.
@@desiredfai true true, I see them all over. But it's funny because there's a specific rock I'm referring to where I can always find a similar looking spider. I'm not sure if it's the same one or if it keeps reproducing.
I love red back jumping spiders! They used to terrify me for years, but recently I befriended one in my backyard! They are all over where I live, I see them all the time in the summer and they are one of the coolest spiders I’ve seen:)
You gave me a new perspective on jumping spiders when I started watching your videos! I never understood the hype until I watched you bond with your lil babies and provide badass enclosures for them!
Johnsoni are native here in Washington state. I actually have them in my backyard, and something really interesting is that all of the ones I find in my yard are missing the exact same leg. It's either a really crazy coincidence, or a genetic thing 😂
Wait we have them here?! Wow i’m going to have to keep an eye out! I’m in washington too and i’ve only ever found a couple of jumpers. They're so cute!
@@ottertank8845 they are everywhere! I’ve found at least five already since the warmer weather has started. I have two that I keep.
Have you caught more then one at a time? Sounds more like you might be finding the same one
You find the same spider every time!
I live in Washington as well, and we do have some beautiful jumpers. I saw a black one with like white dots on abdomen and a little green on areas , I rescued it from my living room and took outside.
At the beginning of the pandemic one of these red backed babies visited my windowsill nearly every day :) I would leave out little caps of water for it and always got a few sweet photos. I’m pretty sure we formed a pretty close bond because they even came up on my hand one day! Loved that lil freakin dude
Jumpers are among my favorite spiders. I love how they look directly at you with that cute "what" expression.😊😊
Our first jumper was a red back 🖤❤🖤 he was SO tiny and cute. I got him for my daughter's 8th bday.
I honestly love these videos and as someone who’s petrified of spiders take this as the biggest achievement
They are adorable, I can't get over how small the velvet babies are, I cried they were so cute. Those jumpers ate beautiful too 😍
I have to say, I am a person with arachnophobia and I was kinda terrified each time you were getting out the spiders, but I love hearing people talk about what they like and watch as they share their passion. You sound so happy just like I am with my animals, and I love that. I loved their little homes you made and how you look so confident talking.
Even if spiders are not my favourite, you look like a good person and whatever animal you decide to take home, you look like someone who will take great care of them, and that is enough for me to appreciate your video.
I have always had arachnophobia and recently got a jumping spider pet. It's really calm and just adventures anywhere haha
I have 3 red back females and all had like 30 babies it’s funny to watch the babies hunt love the reds on them they have such cute faces❤️
Congratulations tarantula Kat 🥳🤪
I had one not too long ago. He was my first. My bf found him on some grapes at work, we named him Grape. He was so very special to me. I made a real connection with him. He passed in april. Loved in so much. RIP Grape 🖤🖤🖤
SAME EXACT THING WITH ME!! I even named her uva which is grape in Spanish, sorry for your loss but his legacy lives on!
The magnetic sticks is a brilliant idea.
Wish I would have thought of that simple solution with my jumping spider enclosures
I saw a spider like that in my garden, the black and red with blue fangs jumper one, those eyes are soooo charming 😍
All the different jumping spider species are so interesting to see and learn about. I'm a new keeper as of today, and already there's so many species I'd love to keep one day, not just jumpers, but tarantulas too. My jumper is a p. princeps, he's currently i5 and so sweet and adorable, already wanting to be handled and interacting with me. I'm falling more and more in love with spiders as time goes on!
A red back was the first jumper I kept and they've been the majority I've worked with, all of them wild catches because they're local to me and so it's so nice to see other people keeping them
I love the way you open your new Spiders. You're so gentle and delicate. Your fingers and hands are really pretty. Watching you open up things is like opening presents at Christmas. You get so excited! Who knew opening up paper towel bundles could be so entertaining to watch. I basically watch your videos sometimes just to watch you do stuff.
You're so artsy craftsy!😆😆 those 2 little houses you've made are SO EFFING ADORABLE!! I love the tiny Amanita Muscaria mushrooms you've put in there are perfect. I expect to see a little forest faery in their somewhere playing with their new friends!
As an Aussie seeing red back made me think oh no 😲then saw jumping spider. 🙂
We have the redback spider (Latrodectus hasselti), also known as the Australian black widow. It's highly venomous.😵💫
These babies look super adorable!!
I have some baby jumping spiders living on my pineapple plant in my house for the winter months. They’re still living in the web mama built for them. I have 3-4 adult jumpers living in my house, mostly around the window blinds where they can catch flies. Very cool spiders!
Just saw one of these in my garden today. They are the cutest little spideys and their colouring is beautiful
Great job on the enclosures , they are all adorable additions to your family!!!
thank you!!
I saw one in person for the first time today. I was out in my front yard catching flies for my pet jumping spider. I saw something on the ground and thought it was a fly, but instead of green, it was black with a bit of red. I wanted a closer look so I tried to coax it into my container that I was using to catch flies with. When I put the container in front of it, it turned around to look at it, so I knew it was a species with good eyesight, likely another jumper. A quick photo upload to iNaturalist revealed that it's a Phiddipus johnsoni. I've never seen this species of jumper in person before, so I'm definitely keeping it. It still has the four dots on its back, so I guess it's not mature yet. I'm really hoping that it matures female.
I had a female Johnsoni myself and from what I heard they’re supposed to be more aggressive than other species, but she was so easy to maintain and keep, I only kept her because she was missing a leg when I found her and it was winter time in my backyard so when it became spring I released her back into the bushes with her newly grown leg, beautiful experience.
A whole new world of products for spider Keepers that weren't around a couple of years ago. I think you and all of the spider collectors has created a need in the market for you guys and reptile owners! I've seen such change and growth in your community in these past 3 years... when I first started watching all of you guys and gals!!
The male with the red/orange butt is cool! I actually found one exactly like that on my screen one day. I was fascinated
Those are all gorgeous, I could tell you really love them. Tom is also one of my favorites to watch.
I'm not a spider 🕷🕸fan . But, when I bought my new car there was a jumping spider living in my sunglass cubby. Sooo I rehoused him and he's been a good pet for the last 2yrs. They really do have cute faces 😆
Your videos are so enjoyable to watch... the spiders and enclosures and everything are so cool it makes me want to get some of this stuff... but also, your personality is very likeable. Great stuff!
I just ordered one of these for me and my son, every spider was sold out and it was all that was left… I hope enjoys raising it!
I watched this to confront my arachnophobia. The close up at 5.48 ❤😊 It actually was so cute!!
P. Johnsoni are common over here in Western Canada. I often find them on my car. I adopted one this year that hitched a ride :)
Very impressed with those in-closures……very cool!!
We have mainly Phidippus johnsoni here in my neck of the woods, which is Washington state. Very different climate than where you’re at. So the temps are going to need to be much cooler than what you keep your Regius at. Just wanted to give you that tip because overheating a jumper will kill them. Dun dun duuuuuunnn. We actually just found a “dark formed” Johnsoni mature gravid (I think) female. First time seeing one of those! Hopefully we will have babies! She is the sweetest thing! Anyway, I have Johnsonis all over the place! Love them. Good luck! I hope yours are doing well.
I just got a adult female fidipus johnsoni today at work... Saw her scurrying across the ground at the gas station and didn't want her to get stepped on so just put my hand down she crawled up into it and stayed on my hands for about a half an hour before I thought I should get a container to put her in and take her home. Most jumping spiders I find at work hang out for a few minutes and then take off
I found one of these beauts in a pack of grapes the other year. Gave me a real fright especially with the colouration! But it was a sweetie. Survived a night or two in the fridge, too.
Where I live in california this species thrives in my citrus trees, they were always friendly and fun, I never had outstanding bug issues either, I never spray for anything and the redbacks keep everything at bay, they get to be a good size
We just ordered a male and female red back. Our babies will be here Tuesday. SO EXCITED!!!! Hoping to breed them 🥰
Phiddipus johnsOni is one of the more common and easy to identify here on the Central Coast of California. They often take a moment from their busy day to stop and wave at me. They have white/grey pedipalps That remind me of striped socks. They show up around mid-to-late summer. I don't try to contain them, just watch their normal activity. Thanks for a very nice video.🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷😄
The spider queen!! How adorable 🥰
They are native here to California I recently caught one in my yard it was 56 Fahrenheit and good thing I brought it in it wasn’t eating but a week later I had the heater on in my room and it ate some mealworms
Awe man my favorite part is always seeing the enclosure being set up
Phidippus Johnsoni! When they're young they build their web on the ground. They're a bit skittish but super fun to watch. I have them wild outside my house 😊 love their green and red colors. This spring I was looking for jumpers to keep and when I nearly gave up I saw this gorgeous face staring at me 😍 green chelicerae, cobalt blue eyes and some red on her back when she turned around. Obviously a female that had wintered over and was way too smart to catch. But a few days later I found a juvenile female in the tall grass and she's still with me 😊 I live on the Canadian border
I love these! We have them here where I live. The red variety! I snapped a pic of one recently and wanted to send it to you to show you!
Both colors are beautiful!!! im in love!
jumping spiders are cleaver and cute, they are one of those arachnids that will Eye to Eye you and somewhat listens, they think and plan things. before they do something
I wish I was one of those super cute jumping spiders just for living in those stunning and extra cute houses! you should be an interior designer as me! I'm telling you every time I can because you really rock on that!!!!!!
Love you a bunch sweetie! 👩❤👩
You’re why I have recently started a collection of Regius with my daughter. She wants to start her own lil business with them, I foresee us having a lot of keepers and pet spiders. She gets super attached 🥰 thank you for all your videos- could you please do a informative video of sling to adult time span, how often they molt etc? You’re the only one we like to watch!
I unfortunately lost my Tarantulas in a house fire last Saturday. I love these videos, miss my spiders.
Sorry to hear about your spiders, that's rough.
Oh hey!! I had one that looked like the orange one land on my shoulder, when I set the little guy on the ground, he kept trying to follow me like a stray cat lol, I finally had to put him on a tree for his own good.
I just hatched these cuties in the summer and they were so so tiny but even after 6 months they have grown so much but are still so tiny. Momma jumper is so gorgeous and so fun to feed these curious little mini wolves lol
The mushrooms and acorn decorations are so cute! Thanks for the inspo
Jumpers are just the cutest. 🕷🕷❣🤗🤗
Wednesday is so adorable I was just going to ask about the house cage and mushrooms love them
Over here where I live I find tons of them! They are my favorite species of the jumping spider and pretty easy to take care of!
those lil spooders have no idea how lucky
Ooooooo I'm always so intrigued by your spiders and tarantulas ! Always love your set ups too!!! I'm glad you sound like you're feeling much better too!
Dang no Bowser fishing/short oh well lol. We gonna have to call you Queen of the jumping spiders ;) love your videos keep up the hard work.
We have so many of them in the wild here in British Columbia Canada. I call them Dead Pool jumpers. They are very defensive and will try to bite you lol. These are the ones you can find on my island.
Bronze Jumper Spider (Eris militaris)
Bold Jumping Spider (Phidippus audax)
Red-backed Jumping Spider (Phidippus johnsoni)
Zebra Jumping Spider (Salticus scenicus)
Soooo exciting!!!! Enclosures are super! And those little ones are gorgeous!

Do it, do it, do it! *clap clap*
What would you get first? Tarantulas or jumping spiders?
@@JayTee95 tarantula for sure ✨
I love those, just had two of them pass through the apartment a few days ago. Their color is stunning ❤️
love jumping spiders the uk ones are so small and absolutely stunning
Happy Valentine's Day and I love love your videos
Kat, I’ve been looking for a P.Johnsoni for the longest time. You are so lucky
When has anybody ever heard someone say, "Fred! Thankyou for the fruit flies! That's so thoughtful!".... anyone? Me either!!
Love these little baby jumpers and the enclosures are amazing!
Wow yeah I actually used to breed these jumpers. The female I had was big she lived for 3 years her name was barb.they are super chill and fun 😊
Wow Kat these lil critters are so cute and dont they just suit their enclosures cant wait for follow ups ...
T Kat is the mother of teeny tiny babies everywhere !
i love those i see them occasionally around my house
Lucky! Never seen any around here.
Me too! We get the black and white ones with the greenish fangs. I'm in upstate NY.
Aw! I love jumping spiders. They are amazing and smart spiders. I get wild jumping spiders in my apartment and I always give them a bug before setting them outside in the bushes. They always appreciate the food. They don't bite and they can be easy to handle. I use to house spiders and toads. I was a animal rescuer with an exotic licenses. I worked for a local zoo. My cat Ginger Beans never tires to hurt the spiders, he's learned to show me and I will take care of it. He makes a gagging face when he sniff's bug's and spiders.
Velvet spiders are my favorite true spiders to keep, I have a bunch of them. Most were absolutely tiny like that when I first got them, too. Like a tiny black crumb. It's fun to watch them grow up and get big fat butts. (I have 9 different eresus species but I've never seen the ones you have available over here in the uk. They're very cute.)
They live where I'm at! Absolutely love them They are everywhere
Beautiful spiders! I love your Videos and Saltacidae is one of my favorite archnid family. I wish you much fun with your new cuties! Best wishes DJ DOG CEMETERTY
Wow! Great sharing, love it🥰🥰
I just found a red back jumper female in my van and she molted as soon as I got her settled in a spice jar. I thought she was some sort of morph when I found her because she was light brown with the red bum, but it turns out she was just ready to change out of that tight skin and needed a safe place to be.
I love jumping spiders and those are awesome.
I vote next plush be one of them! They are so adorable. =)
The Phidippus johnsoni are native to Bc, Canada! They are wonderful and always surprising when you spot an adult because of their size! I don't think I've seen the other coloured ones, definitely gonna keep an eye out while weeding the garden in the future
They are ALL beautiful! I love their houses! TOO CUTE!
the green on the face is awesome :0
I'm going into teaching animal care and spiders and other percieved scary inverts are the one thing I'm a tad weary of but your channel is so good and really does a good job of showing how pretty they along with good care knowledge. I reckon after I have a year under my belt managing the animal unit and more of your vids I could add a spider to the collection :)
I love jumping spiders they are so cute and tiny aww ...
I have jumping spiders in my garden in England. Just took pitchers and a video yesterday. Great fascinating spiders.
I love all these cutie pies!!!🕷💜🕷💜🕷
Theyre so adorable! Perfect little fall colors too! 🍂🧡💛❤
Oh they re sooo cute. Their housing is amazing.
The first time I've seen a Redback was when I was camping. It decided that my Pepsi can would be great camouflage.
I order some velvet spider from him yesterday I love your channel soo much 💗
Yeah I think I need to step my enclosure game up. Yours looks awesome!!
really love that tank top Kat!
These are so cool! I remember seeing those on Reddit once and being confused because they reminded me of male velvet spiders
THESE ARE THE ONES I COMMENTED TELLING ABOUT ON A PREVIOUS VIDEO HELL YEAH😁
Love the colors they are awesome.
fitous circle glasses cutie osis what a cute one!
So I legit thought you bought those little branches and I’m searching everywhere for them.. to find out in this video that you made them 🫠🤣🤦🏻♀️ obsessed!
