- Out of all the things revealed by Hoyoverse in the latest trailers for version 4.8 and Natlan, the new skins announced for Nilou and Kirara are what caught my attention the most.
The aforementioned is primarily because these two new skins (Breeze of Sabaa & Phantom in Boots) have pretty interesting backstories behind their design.

I forgot to include this in the video itself, but the shark girl might be inspired by Hawaii/Polynesia.
My very first thought when I saw her was very Pokémon sun and moon vibes so honestly would make sense 😂

I played imagenrium theater just after livestream and I also realized that butterfly motifs and colors are very similar to Nilou skin. And considering that Nilou is a theater performer and mentioned to be “just out of fairytale” they really planned this long time ago.

when I heard breeze of sabaa, I translated to :
نسيم الصباح
or breeze of morning, and we most of the time refer to the morning as "Dawn"
Interestingly, many flowers shops and book stories about flowers in Yemen associate "نسيم" or breeze with Flowers (flower shops)
also the word نسيم \ Naseem is the name of a very famous Yemeni boxer called Naseem Hamed and there was an NPC who said about Natlan that they have a boxing art, when they practice, they would fight with an imaginary opponent
I don't think Sabaa in this case would translate to "Morning" since it completely lacks the "ح" sound (H). However, you make a compelling point nonetheless.
I have a feeling we will be seeing Amun later down the line considering how vast his influence spread across Teyvat. Aside from King Remus and Fontaine, even a Hexenzirkel Summer Event has a skin related to him by proxy.

sumeru forest area takes a lot of inspiration from iranian culture, saba also means a cold and calming breeze in farsi. and hoyo has used a lot of farsi words in sumeru so far.

The best thing i noticed in the new blue girl it's the fact that she has a new character model, which is interesting cuz it makes me think if hoyo going to add any new models soon
Also pay attention to how the vision has symbol of sun while xyblanque or what ever the fork was his name became the SUN
Huh, the myths I heard said Xbalanque became the moon. But regardless, I have a feeling that we'll see the Pyro Archon and the Sovereign reference two very specific celestial motifs: the black sun and the crimson moon
I think the vision case is inspired by the center of the solar stone of the Aztec/Mexica culture.
People said at the start of the trailer they heard Australian instruments so they may include those motifs in later parts of the expansion.
I think all the new characters look cute, especially Shark Girl. I guess there is be a meta exploration aspect, in which case the loli is best since she can go up walls? Btw shes 4* so she'll likely be with the other two which ever releases first.
Natlan is actually a Sumeru case , i mean there multiple countrys and landscape mixed (even Australia)
Depending on up time if the abilities shown are their skills then they might just power creap exploration

It depends if the new hydro girl can stay as long as she want on her shark because Furina can walk on water indefinitely without any cooldown.
Breeze of saba (باد صبا ) is a reference to a very famous persian poem by Hafiz which in this case means the breeze that comes in the spring.
As a Brazilian I've also identified many references from south American cultures 🎉 I'm excited to see the whole Region 🎉
Could Colombina/Damselette be in Natland with the intention of confronting the Pyro Dragon while Capitano takes the attention of the Pyro Archon? (Or maybe the opposite as it would be very fairytale-esq for a "knight" to fight a dragon.)
Actually it would make sense for Columbina to be with the dragon, the usual tale is of a knight saving a damsel by killing the dragons, so how about the damsel manages the dragon while the knight fights another foe

Elynas is way way too big compared to the toy one we saw in the trailer. If it was him, then Hoyoverse are butchering his size. My brain did not even register him as an option because of that.
I said this in cat's video about this trailer, and since I'm lazy asf I'm just gonna copy-paste that bc it's probably not gonna be seen there and I'm from Latam myself, I think our issues should be spread around lmao. It's not about the playable characters but about the npcs.
Would be cool if those mining tools from the enemies were a reference to the damage made to Amazonian indigenous people by illegal mining. If anyone's curious about this, the Yanomami tribe in Brazil suffers with heavy metal poisoning due to mining techniques employed illegally by companies in their lands. If I remember correctly, their people, land and meals were suffering with quicksilver poisoning, it's a whole humanitarian/sanitary crisis.

I dont think the dragon is Duran. So far all of the summer events have heavily forshadowed the plot of the next region. I think the dragon represents a character from natalan we have yet to meet.

Oh yes!!! Many references and reps are from Sulayman's story when it comes to The Eternal Oasis and The Dirge Of Bilqis. She also travelled to modern day Palestine.

Well...Saba can also refer to the relationship between Nabu Malikata and Rukadevata, as being the queen of Saba and King Solomon. Let us remember that there is a book that makes reference to the history between both, where Malikata would have gone to meet Ruka to meet her who possessed a lot of wisdom, just as the queen of Saba did when meeting King Solomon, who is known to have been the wisest man who ever lived.that existed, according to the Bible.
