The Spanish team tried to challenge the service from the GB team because they thought it was out, but the referee rejected because it considered the spanish team take too long time for the challenge. That's why nadal explain to referee and said "faster is impossible"
The rule is simple, and Nadal and his partner broke it: you cannot wait until your return lands in the net or goes out to then decided, eh, I wanna challenge that. Sure, the serve was hit fast, but the rule exists because otherwise, had the return gone in, they obviously would not have (or may not have) challenged, meaning their decision to challenge was determined by/after the point already ended with a return having hit the net and ended the point. It's VERY straightforward, and Nadal's false humility is exposed by his nasty attitude toward a FEMALE chair umpire who is merely doing her job.
It does not matter whethter she is a female or mail umpire. Rafa was totally right. Lets make an example. If Feliciano would have not touch the ball, it was either an ace or a second serve. So he can not challange it? but the point would have already ended. I guess I made my point haha
You can’t call a ball out AFTER your return has been struck AND has already hit the net. You don’t get to wait to see whether your return lands in or out to then raise your hand and challenge. Either call for a challenge before you hit the return, or at least ask to challenge after you hit the return but before your return hits the net. You cannot have it both ways and then act entitled to a challenge, just because your return went into the net. It doesn’t matter how fast the serve was.
