To be fair, that is a Djokovic specialty, and Nadal has less comebacks from 2 sets to 0 in grand slams than any other member of the big 4, never mind big 3

I think this might be tougher because with this Medvedev only has to win 1 game to win the match, but in the Australian open the opponent would still have to win a full set to claim the victory. Regardless, both are incredible and show the determination of Nadal.
@@justinjerrylee1659 Thank you for pointing that out. I feel that the Australian open this year was his greatest comeback ever. Everything about that match said he was going to lose, and somehow he pulled out the third set, and ultimately won.

After watching all these years of tennis, it won't be wrong to say Nadal is the best ever in the tennis courts. Like the tactician Ali, in boxing, Nadal finds ways to beat his opponents. If not for his constant injuries, he would have won many more Grand Slams. If all the losses esp the semis and finals in the Grandslams, as have been noticed, were mainly due to lack of adequate or no training and preparation due to prior injuries. It is no joke to come back from the brink of defeat and win the match. How he did It? Australian Open 2022 is one prime example. Youngsters must learn from Nadal as how to recover from failure and make success in life.
This is the difference between the champions and those who are just really good players. Champions have that “it” factor or killer instinct or whatever you call it.
That face Nadal made at 4:33 meant more than just a face. It meant... Enough playing. Time to awaken the inner strength of Nadal. It also teaches his opponents a lesson that in the future if they see Nadal make that face it will most likely mean they're about to get obliterated.
Novak is also GOAT, lets not forget that the 3 of them have dominated so much all in one era. Theres 3 GOATs and its upto peoples opinions to decide who is their GOAT. However at the end of their careers, the numbers and statistics will most likely point towards Novak to be considered the all time greatest. Personally, Federer is always gonna be my favourite but im just stating facts here.
@@yusufluhar5881 tend to agree a bit. but have to consider the opposition Rafa faced during his career. the first half, it was prime federer, and in the second half its the prime novak and he still succeeded in getting equal or more GS than them. Tiene Nadal el mejor servicio? No. El mejor resto? No. El mejor drive? No. Lo que tiene Nadal, es la mentalidad, estrategia y concentración más potentes del mundo con diferencia. experience is everything. medvedev cracked under pressure. played well in the beginning and then began missing more shots as match point came close (you notice his strokes were getting sloppier two games to match point and he just stopped trying thinking he was going to get the win). Nadal's had far more wins and court time at higher level gameplay which means he's more consistent when it comes down to critical times. This comeback was great though. GJ nadal.
I agree. I think part of what helped Medvedev in the US Open Final (besides that he is a very good player) was that Novak was equally under so much pressure and not playing his best tennis. This is not to discredit Medvedev - to win a grand slam in this era is an extremely difficult achievement. I just mean it helps when your opponent is under even more immense pressure to get a calendar slam lol! Also, Nadal leads the head to head with Medvedev 5 to 1 now so I wonder if there's something about Nadal's resilience and refusal to be put down that Medvedev has a hard time overcoming.
