Awesome review, love the direct and to the point approach without a bunch of fluff...Gracias!!
Nice to see traditional, quality tequilas being recommended instead of the popular brands which have additives. I’m also in the LA area, and I buy these brands at High Time Wine in Costa Mesa. Pasote Blanco is really good too, and only $32.99.
It's great to see that you focus on the traditional; it's not a point lost on many of us who love tequila. I've seen blind tastings that compared tequilas baked in stone ovens vs autoclaves vs diffusers and across the board in every category, the stone/brick oven came out on top. While modern advances can bring the cost of tequila production down for mixers or shots, for sipping, the traditional methods simply make the best tequila.
I also favor the Reposados and just found G4...delicious. Siete Leguas and Fortaleza have been in my mix for some time now. Pasote and El Tequileño are now on my must-have list.
G4 makes such great products, I always makes sure to have their full line on my liquor shelf, same with Fortaleza. If you like G4, you'll like Pasote for sure. I especially recommend their anejo. Thanks for watching!
Reposado is always winner,. "La malinche gold" is fine,.and TOPANITO
If you, or anyone you know goes to Mexico, get a bottle of Siete Leguas from there. It is noticeably better than the American import.
Solid picks. You clearly know your stuff. El Tequileño may be my fav.
Dude! You are killing it! We need more content.
Nice, loved the video! Just went to Tequila last December and had so much fun and planning on going back soon!
Great video! I am familiar with both the G4 and Fortaleza brands, they are excellent choices with Fortaleza reposado being my preferred tequila among all others. I prefer it over a Don Julio 1942, which is a bottle I would never refuse.
I'm just starting to appreciate tequila and learning about the production and the best tequilas for a novice to try. Thank you for your video- I learned a lot and I am looking forward to future videos. 🤤
I think that was an absolutely brilliant review I'm going to purchase all five of those over the next few months and try them all thank you for sharing your video ⭐️👏👏👏👏
Adrian! Thank so much for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm in the process of putting together a similar video for blancos, which should be up by the end of the week. I hope you catch that one as well! The best part about this whole youtube thing is being able to share and provide value for others so I'm very happy to know that you took something from it. Thank you again for watching. Salud my dude!
Your favorite, now forces me to try all of them, because I agree with you 100% with Fortaleza
Great vid. Hope to see your channel grow. Would like to see more.
You should do a vid on what the classifications are all about.
I’m just at the learning stage, so I really appreciated the information!
Me too! I'm ready to move up from Jose Cuervo.
Can't go wrong with any of those picks .. 👌🙌
Excellent video!!! I'm sort of new to the tequila game, and you presented these tequilas like a boss!!! Now I'm looking for these bottles... THANKS!!!!
Tim! I appreciate the kind words! I stand by all 5 of these brands and recommend trying any and all of their products. They're some of the best in the industry and I commit to only ever recommending the best to you guys. I appreciate you watching, cheers!
@@TequilaPlug CHEERS!!!
Very informative video. Your knowledge and passion shine through and I hope you decide to make regular content. Tequila could use its very own Ralfy.
Educational! Thank you!
Very Cool - can't wait to try these out - Peace
Great video. I am normally a Bourbon Drinker, but I want to get into Tequila as well. This video helps alot..
More of a whiskey drinker but I’m interested in some quality tequila and this sounds right up my ally. Especially the one where you mentioned toffee and macadamia notes.
Welcome to the club! If you like whiskey, you'll have no trouble with GOOD tequilas. Look for places that might do tastings, like liquor stores or some of the better Mexican restaurants. I got a lot of my early exposure this way. Generally the distributor comes and gives a brief lesson then you get to try the product. Cheers from Indiana!
Try the LA MALINCHE GOLD or the TOPANITO REPOSADO or the blanco,.very fine stuff
Hi Anthony, really enjoy this vid! Great suggestion on the Fortaleza, it's typically a little more than I spend on tequila (I'm a sucker for Patron Reposado) but it was a great bottle!! I'm planning on going to Tijuana next month and was wondering if you had recommendations on bottles to bring back to the US. Thanks in advance!
You should stop drinking Patrón.
Really enjoyed your vid.i was able to pick up Fortelaza reposado for 44 and really love it before I saw your video.I have the pasote blanco which is awesome and looking forward to the reposado as well as the other brands...thanks for info
Hi Richard, I’m glad you enjoyed! Fortaleza will always be one of my all-time favorites. If you like blancos, the Fortaleza blanco and “blanco still-strength” are fantastic as well. I’m currently working on more bottle reviews and will be packing the channel with more content, so please stayed tuned! Salud!
Good to hear from you Anthony.Im on my second bottle of Fortaleza blanco.looking forward to the still strength and more of your vids. Thanks for reply
Just stopped by to make sure Fortaleza was on the list... Carry on. 👍🏾
Five good choices! Have heard good things about 7 Leguas but have yet to try. Cheers from Indiana!
i think you just about nailed it..esp. about Fortaleza.
Hey Killian, thanks! Fortaleza is my favorite, it’s the first distillery I ever visited in Tequila, MX. Cheers!
You should be doing more info videos on CZcams. You hit everything perfectly-well done.
You seem really knowledgeable, especially for such a young person! I'm a whiskey guy, but I've developed a slight interest in tequila, thanks in part to Better Call Saul 😂. That Pasote bottle is so cool!
This was fabulous! I love you you were almost salivating!!! You could taste it. Ty so much
It is my choice, tequila!!!!
Thanks for your video.
For me personally I enjoy this list except for G4. Anyways I just subscribed and I had to share your video with my friends
Great vid. Only had the fortaleza so far, gona try the others
Thanks! I'm sure you'll enjoy them, especially G4. It's amazing how high quality their products are.
Great video. I would have the La Gritonia in the list too.
Bro just from the starting shot I could tell this dude knows his Tequila, all 3 in the beginning are great selections.
Great info! Let’s drink!
Enjoyed the video, my dude. I will say that 4 of those I've never seen in Australia and the Fortaleza retails at $140ish a bottle here. 😭😭
Adam! Glad you enjoyed! That's insane though, $140?! I've wondered what the prices look like on your side of the world. I've partied with Aussies while traveling and those guys loved their tequila, it's a shame that you guys don't have the selection that we do over here. I would love to see these brands find distribution networks that reach further without the exorbitant pricing. Definitely appreciate you watching though! I just finished setting up a youtube set here at home because I'm going all in on this youtube thing. I'm gonna have some cool videos coming soon and more frequently so keep an eye out! Cheers!
This was very helpful
Great video...thanks!
Great solid list..add Suerte .
I’m just getting into tequila and want to really dig into it. Will for sure buy all 5 bottles hope you keep pumping out videos like this. I want to buy from companies that arnt big don’t give a crap companies and want these smaller actually care companies. What would you recommend for a blonco for mixing into drinks?
What's up Jacob! I appreciate the kind words. I've spent the last two weeks transforming my home office in to a functioning youtube studio so I am definitely going to be pumping out a lot more content very soon! I'm actually working on a "Best Blancos Under $50" video right now but to answer your question, the best blanco for mixing AND casually sipping is Cascahuin's blanco. It's only $30 typically (depending on availability in your area) and it hits like a $50 blanco. So if you're able to find it where you live, grab one! Other notable blancos are Fortaleza, G4, Terralta, Siete Leguas and Volans. You won't be disappointed with any of those and they're all great brands to support. Please keep an eye out for my future videos, I have a lot of cool stuff coming! Salud my dude!
Your very awesome so cool you know so much about tequila and look forward seeing more. I bet it’s pretty exciting to be setting up a studio. Good luck!
Great first video. All you need is an awesome background for now. 😁What about best sipping tequilas for each age category b/t $30 to $40. That seems to be a sweet spot for most buyers looking for a quality tequila.
Cazadores repasado. I personally think it is the best. Slight, and I mean slight, alchohol burn good flavor. Just try.
IN YOUR DREAMS....ALL BOTTLES ARE OVER FIFTY....
Try familia camarena reposado 👍
I Subbed Cause I Agree With The Selection...Glad You Didn't Throw In Teramana or Addictivo or Class Azul or 1942... Personally I Love Fortaleza, G4, & That Gran Reserva From Tequileno. I Sip Those Daily & On Deck. No Need Expensive Tequila To Enjoy. SALUD 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽!!!!
I appreciate the sub, Rome, and I’m glad you have great taste! I’ve never been a big fan of those gimmicky, over-priced tequilas so it’ll be rare that I mention them on this channel in the future. There’s so much great, traditionally made tequila out there and my goal is to share it all with the world here on CZcams. Thanks again for subbing and keep an eye out for the new videos I’m working on putting out soon! Salud my dude!
Good Video. 👍 I agree with all of these tequilas.
But dam dude your lucky ass started with Fortaleza? I had to force myself to drink Quervo Gold lol
I am a huge fan of Anejo tequila. I have enjoyed Don Julio Los Rios and my first Espolon. I have two bottles of Hornitos Black barrel i haven't had yet
Great video.
I'm here in Michigan and all the liquor stores carry the same tequila. It's so regulated on what tequilas you canbuy.
I've been to el pandillo. My Tio Juan Pablo lives next door. Well his rancho is next door. Great stuff.
All fantastic tequilas!! What is your opinion on Tequila Ocho Reposado?
I’ve heard that’s a good one
I'm an avid tequila enthusiast. I would love to try these but it's hard out in Indiana lol. I am lucky enough that I can find Fortaleza locally and it is also one of my favorites for the money even tho out here it costs $60
It's a bummer that tequila distribution is still sparse in some parts of the country. $60 for Fortaleza Repo actually isn't too bad though. I'm working on finding a reputable and well-priced online liquor retailer to refer people to. I'll keep everyone posted when I find one I can trust
@@TequilaPlug I'm in Indiana too. Total Wine in Indianapolis has a good selection. Otherwise I order from vendors in San Diego. Begging Ghost Tequila to start retailing here!
Sparkle Donkey Reposado at Total Wine......thank me later. Enjoy the caramel yumminess.
Where are you shopping? Holy crap, what a selection.
Which one of these producers use diffuser if any? Do they shred or crush the core of the agave? Do they use autoclaves or traditional ovens? That would be useful to know if you can tell us…
Thank you.
Thanks ❤
I took your recommendation on the Seite Leguas Reposado, very good although the 2022 price in Portland Oregon was 62 bucks today 6/1/22 and my local shop did not carry the highly recommended Fortaleza but next time I will go to a better tequila store on Hawthorne Blvd
Did you have any luck at Hawthorne Liquor? I'm going there Friday.
@@SteveSharpPDX Yes, they have a good selection
Thank you for this. I am new to Tequila and I wanted good recommendations besides the name brands that are so highly priced.
You should never buy Clase Azul.
@@jimklemens5018 everyone raves about that one.
$50 FOR A FORTALEZA REPOSADO? DAIM BRO WERE DO YOU LIVE? Where I live it is like $89.99.
Fortaleza is awesome!
I'm a huge fan of Fortaleza! They're my favorite distillery to visit too when I'm in Tequila, MX
National tequila day just in time!
Where are you! We need more of you!!!
La Gritona is a really good tequila. It comes in an old-fashioned recycled glass bottle with a swing cap. Distillery is run by a woman and her daughter.
I’ve seen it but never tried it! I’ll make sure to pick up a bottle and look in to the brand more. Not many tequila brands are woman-run so that’s definitely something I want to support!
@@TequilaPlug try a brand Called Fino. It’s also woman ran.
La Gritona is my favorite Reposado
for just smooth no burn alone, flavor and anything else doesnt matter, whats the best one?
I LOVE SIETE LEGUA!!!!
I wonder if you can give me a name I'm looking for a tequila I saw in another video it was described as a vanilla smelling tequila that taste like cake( I've only ever had patron and their description intrigued me but they aren't disclosing the name )
I just subscribed ..👍 great presentation on these fine tequilas , I will take your word on the Fortaleza. I hope I can find it or any of the others you described here in Indiana
Thanks for the sub! It means a lot, especially just starting out as a small channel. Fortaleza is one of my all-time favorites, I always recommend it. They make some of the purest, high-quality tequila out there. Same with G4. I'm rolling out some more content soon, I just got my youtube set at home all situated so I'm ready to record again! Stay tuned!
I bought a bottle of Kirkland Tequila from Costco and thought it was good for the price. What do people think of that one? Unfortunately Fortaleza is hard to find in the Bay Area.
Wish I could find these quality of tequilas for such a great price. Unfortunately I live in AL, and folks around here don’t know a quality beverage.
i got a bottle of Mezcal La Felicidad { abocado con alacran} Maguey Cupreata for christmas. Any idea of its worth in the U.S. ?
Being married to a Latina for 37 years, my wife's family introduced me to Tequila via Reposado. I've had my Plata's, Blanco's y Anejo's, but I always go back to Reposado. Right now I am drinking 'Gran Centenario' Reposado; I quite like it. Has anyone had this brand before? There are so many Reposados to drink and so little time ;-》
Gran Centenario was my intro Reposado and I thought it was good as a mixer. But I could never sip or shoot it because it’s so bad. I’m pretty sure it’s made with a diffuser as it’s a Cuervo tequila. I suggest to you try the G4 or any other in this video and you’ll understand what a good tequila is. You’ll even impress your spicy Latina gf’s family and get lucky that night.
@@Michelle-ez9hs If you are lucky enough to find older GC anejo (with the green band on the label) it is much better than the current stuff. I don't know how to spot the repo from the same time frame.
@@Michelle-ez9hs I didn't know it was by Cuervo. Maybe why I'm struggling with the añejo. It was a gift, but don't mind throwing it out; it's just too rough, like really cheap stuff. Thanks for opening my eyes! Cheers from Indiana!
Cazadores reposado
Tbh fantastic list although I’d switch out either 3 or 2 with yet another creation from the don camerna like G4 and Pasote you should have had El Tesoro repo in that list
If you can find it the ET single barrel repo is fantastic. Where I get it, only a dollar more than the standard repo.
Here in NYC ppl only know about Patrón, Don Julio and Casamigos. 🤦♂️😁 I will start teaching my friends about real Tequila.
What i buy when i want reposado:
Gran Centenario
Chinaco
tres generaciones
Hussong's (nice raw flavor with a cool moonshine type jug)
Casa Noble if on sale under $50
i can't believe you left the Orendain brand out!!!
October 31, 2007 - Tequila Los Abuelos announces their new label name, FORTALEZA, for the United States market. Tequila FORTALEZA, or Fortitude, is the same excellent Los Abuelos tequila, made with the artisan traditions handed down for five generations, is now named after their historic distillery, "Destileria La Fortaleza". Nice instructional video.
Thanks! Have you had a chance to visit Fortaleza? By far the best tequila tour I've done
@@TequilaPlug I drink the Fortaleza Anejo regularly, and their Repesado may be the best I've ever had. However, if you want an out of body experience try Fuenteseca Reserva Anejo. It has more complexity, layers of flavor, and smoothness than anything else I have enjoyed (warning- many Benjamins will be involved).
Arette is my go to. Better than brands 2-3 times the price. No additives.
G4 , Pasote, El Tequileno, Siete Leguas, Fortaleza
How does Quita Penas stack up against these? Also my favorite Reposado.
Lol not on the same radar. He did select some great tequilas.
But no tequila is bad. There's good, better & best
@@pistql You've obviously never had Tenampa Azul from Gran Centenario. It is genuinely awful Tequila, early diffuser jive before they started using additives.
Just wanna be as fair as possible but I too am deep in tequila and I’m going to respectfully give my opinions if I agree with your picks from 1 to another fan of the drink
I hope you make more videos. I keep watching Lou Agave and Tequila Hombre. Would like to hear someone new. Good luck, I'll be waiting for more videos.
Make a video like this for blanco please sir.
Good luck trying to find a bottle of Fortaleza. I asked for it at a liquor store here in Texas and the lady just rolled her eyes like yea, ok lol
Total Wine in the San Francisco bay area gets a good allocation about every month, but it is sold out in two days. I was able to buy one bottle of the blanco and one of the reposado about ten days ago.
I also found the Siete Leguas reposado and Tequila Ocho reposado on sale at Costco in San Luis Obispo two weeks ago.
Yep. 1k now showing.
I like your vids but it’s very important that if you can put the bottle on the screen with you or with out you in the vid at all times so we can see the bottles thank you
Would the bottle of Forteleza be cheaper in Mexico?
Correct . I’m in south Texas and Fortaleza repo at Specs is about $47+tax, and in Nuevo Progreso Tamaulipas MEX, it’s about $30.
How come you only have 3 videos and its been months? We need more content. You keep referring to speaking about the information later in another video yet there are none to hear about this info. You make good content, I'd keep at it!
total Wine has the fortaleza for 65 where I live. Costco used to have it for 39. but its 2022. everything has gone up except for salaries hahahah
OK, Where are you shopping?!?!?! Also, I would have added El Tesoro's Single Barrel Reposado.
I have a few liquor stores in the LA area that I like to frequent with great tequila selections and prices. El Tesoro Single Barrel is a great option as well, I love all of the El Tesoro products! I'm actually working on a video right now where I review El Tesoro's Extra Anejo. It should be up in a couple of days. I always appreciate the feedback, thank you Fred. Please make sure to share your thoughts of my next video as well. Cheers!
@@TequilaPlug New York is a tequila desert. I don't envy much about LA, but I definitely envy the tequila diversity.
We're lucky that we have the great selection that we have but on the other hand, it's impossible to get a good bagel or a slice here so you definitely have me jealous there! lol
The fortaleza one is a lot more pricey now
Fortaleza Blanco Lot 100, find it, try it.
On it! Thanks for the tip!
¿Por qué no lo estás bebiendo?
Whats the best tequila for shots?
In this price range, I’d recommend any Casamigos tequila. The blanco, reposado and añejo are decent sipping tequilas but good shooting tequilas 👍🏼
G4 Reposado for under $50!? My bottle cost $60 here. Great list though, Fortaleza, G4, and Siete Leguas are some of my go to’s.
I also visited the Fortaleza distillery.. an experience I’ll never forget.. that bat cave was sick.
Smaccckkkkkkkkkk lmfao.
They don't sell it, in my neighborhood. Idk if they even sell it, in the US
In Belgium Fortaleza is around 85 USD...
Oof... that is pricey but it does have to go a long way to get there. A viewer in Australia said its over $100 there
@@TequilaPlug everything on the list seems to be over 120usd here in Australia
I could not hear the name of the second Reposado. I kept replaying it over and over but I couldn't identify the label. Somebody help me out with that please?
Yup, that’s a reposado from the brand Pasote.
@@TequilaPlug thank you! Unfortunately that's not a brand we got up here in the great white North.😟
Hornito's Anejo Black Barrel. Really flavorful and smooth. $29 US.
I like to know we’re you get it for under $50 the cheapest I’ve seen it at $65
Thanks
What's up JG, I live just outside of Los Angeles so I'm lucky to have a good tequila selection available to me at good prices. I know that it may be pricier for people in other states. My best advice is to first check any big chain liquor stores that you may have around you. If you don't have luck there, there are some great sites that tend to have good pricing and selections too like reservebar.com and oldtowntequila.com. Good luck in your search, let me know if you come across any good deals online! Salud!
Pretty much all of these bottles are over $50 where I live 😂
Watching in 2022, these are all over $50 near me now, closer to $60. That's if you can find them, Fortaleza has disappeared.
G4
Where in the world are you getting Fortaleza so cheap lmao
999 subscribers… bro i just broke you above 1k
Let’s goooooo! Thanks!!!
