Ladies and Gentlemen, here is another classic example of an underrated film.
This isn't underrated movie.
@@ne__ty2442 it honestly is
yup
You mean overrated. Critics loved it and so did audiences. It's a good movie but not great. A 7 at best.

When I heard him say 'I haven't run the company in years' I half expected Grey's dead wife to show and pull a 'gotcha', I'm still alive' on him. Glad that wasn't the case, the balls of the writers to make such a dark ending where the villain actually wins!
Same
I love how the lighting makes half his face red and half his face normal or blinking showing stage divide
This is actually depressing. To watch an evil AI steal a human’s body with zero ramifications for it’s actions. I gotta say, that STEM is one hell of a computer! I only wish Grey had a better ending though. I really pity his situation. Getting possessed by an evil robot doesn’t sound fun.
The only consolation is that STEM put Grey into a dream where his wife was alive. Yeah, otherwise you’re right, this is one downer ending. Great movie though
@George Dawson I suppose STEM deep down has some form of affection and empathy for Grey. Well, as much affection and empathy an AI could have.
@@H0SANNA stem did what he could to make sure grey didn't wake up
@@dirtboi3571 Yeah there was nothing sympathetic about it. Grey is essentially trapped in a prison of his own mind.
Reminded me the character of Jude Law in "Repo men", same feels
Simon Maiden gave the voice to STEM. Amazing, gives me chills every tiem.
Especially at the part where everyone can hear him.
Incredible acting. You can see the pain and sorrow in Green’s eyes when he said “I am!”
It Grey not green
@@radioactivegames7956 he look exactly tom hardy😝
Movie were the bad guy wins
@Basel Nemra no not rly lol
Stem is best villain
That's what happens when you give a computer a very high IQ AI
Upgrade 2: Grey lives in the other reality but has nightmares that turn out to be memories of STEM killing people in the actual world , so Grey starts to fight back so he has to choose to stay in his reality he wanted or kill STEM and him self to end once and for all.
Absolutely no need for sequel
Don't ruin a good film with dipshit sequels
There's a TV show in the works.
@@OfficerFriendly2006 not anymore i dont think
@@richardwhite7005 don't see why not
i know how alot of times sequals make the first movie worse but i still want more of this
They could’ve made a sequel if grey was still in control in some way, like stem is in control when he was asleep and grey when he was awake because it would be a pretty cool idea that on one side you have the badguy but on the other side it’s the guy you rude for
A way to continue this story would be the guy who made stem.. implanted all his Knowledge into something where the main character in part 2 finds and enhances it where he is in control of stem and not the other way and doesn’t need permission to use said abilities granted from stem. But greatly lowering the quality of said counterpart so the original in greys body is still a step ahead.. with how and why he set out and found this information could be left up to the creators. The whole movie should be about the new guy with the altered stem facing off the original in this movie.. they should have it where he’s losing the final fight but during parts of the movie it shows grey realizing he’s in a fake world in his head and “ sabotaging” the original stem in his body. Yeah hopefully you as the reader can comprehend and understand what a confusing mess I just said, I know. Stem stem stem stem blah blah blah you get the point. but just a thought. A part 2 could in fact be done is what I’m trying to get across.
I heard they’re making a series on it
that plot could work, could be like memento where they dont have access to each others memories and have to try to out do each other with limited control of the body@@keizercas6051
The chills I got when the distorted “AnD WouLD YOu Not aGreE it wAs aLL woRTh iT?” Came up
The Harsh Reality is we are only a few steps away from just that
1:58 Grey had one weapon at his disposal. He could have shut off his own eyes so Stem can't see either and give an opportunity to the scientist to fight back.
@Solo Passenger Only from the neck to the feet.
@Starscream91 For that to work, Stem must have reversed(somehow) the output of the brain and use those connections as input without electrodes(somehow) and connected to the brain... And all without surgery. That's what I call a plot-hole.
@Starscream91 Yes I know, I'm not blaming you at all
@@NicosoftNT Nice analysis and your probably right, but through out the whole movie Stem is always ahead and seems to know much more than he lets off. He probably had more control than we realize. Even in the situations Grey seems to be in trouble Stem seems to be in control of the problem, just food for thought.
@@NicosoftNT It could use fingers to forcibly open eyes.
I watched this movie for the first time.
Even after watching this clip, I still got chills when it came up

I love the detail that he points the gun to the side of his neck, not his head. He’s not going for his brains, he’s aiming at STEM.
This is such a well crafted film. Great ending
This is a good movie but very underrated. It's a good story and that's what movies are all about.
We pay to be lied to.
He should of known back when the solider guy told him why he was hired. Stem was the villain all along. Grey was so blinded by his revenge he didn't notice the obvious.
Facts. Ultimately that was his demise from the start, revenge.
What did the soldier guy say?
I wasn't expecting this movie to be so tragic.
movie 9/10 just amazing! i never would see the twist they did with Stem, also, i feel bad for the guy literally being locked away in a dream world from his own body
Stem voice gives me chills
Same

Sleeper of 2018
What a cool idea and well-made film.
Stem deserves an Oscar lol
amazing movie
This ending so sad yet so realistic, makes me wants to have the fake ending where he stops Stem
THE THING IS I'M IN LOVE WHITH ERON❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭😭
“Congratulations, you played yourself” - DJ Khalid
If STEM had already grown powerful enough to take over Eron's company, why did it have to go to the trouble of using Grey's body to kill him? What was to stop STEM from contracting some hitman like the guys at the beginning to do it?
Because humans still have flaws
STEM was just a computer without a body. It wanted a strong human specimen without any sort of augmentation to use as its host. Hence this entire plan.
Just a reminder. Grey didn't die. Stem just put him in to a fake world, made out of his mind. Like he gave him a good ending, because he doesn't want that grey wakes up, to taking the controll back.
He wanted to use the trauma against the host.
Each kill was breaking his mind the only reason they didn't before was because grey assumed they deserved it.
@@raulsauceda7392exactly. The scene where the van pulls up to Jamies’ location confirms that. It had “Vessel” spelled out plainly for us to see.
Upgrade should have a sequel immediately.

No particular order. What's yours? Any recommendations?
It’s not one of my favourite movies but the invitation. It has Logan Marshall Green and he’s brilliant in it. Also a Netflix movie called Fractured with Sam Worthington. The reviews aren’t great for it but it’s a brilliant movie.
Tfw Eron was trying to shut STEM down this whole time it was because he was terrified for his own life sensing this inevitability.
Personally I don't get why he didn't skip town though once the error happened instead of cowering here waiting lmao.
I guess cos STEM knows him well enough to know anywhere he would try to hide so he thought there was no point? But maybe not.
Same, wondered why Eron didn't just run away after this happened. Personally i think he could've at least alerted the government that a rogue AI is on the loose.

I did pick you, you should be honoured.
How many movies we've seen where one of the main villains wins at the end? I mean first there's Seven then the Saw series and then No Country For Old Men and now Upgrade.
The guy who wrote Upgrade also wrote Saw. Lol
I'd tell you another one but I'd be spoiling it's ending. I can think of two more and they are both awesome.
The final part where they were fighting for control reminded me of bo2 where the numbers pop up while playing as Alex mason and interrogating Kravchenko and instinctively pulls out a gun and you can resist the urge to shoot him
I still don't understand how STEM forced Eron to do all of this. Couldn't he just shut him down?
another classic example of an underrated film.
The Plot twist nobody could see coming... Loved it
Would you kindly....
Great film.
Why cant people shoot villians when they have chance rather than explaining stories to them or talking feelings
this was a really good movie. Very fun
that last part was intense-

Thanks for watching
STEM is the G.O.A.T of A.I. Than all other villians.
STEM is the only AI I know that wanted to be human like most but did it by any means necessary, instead of it being passive
That detective needs to mind her business shes keeps following grey and she doesn't even know who she's dealing with, plus shes keeps trying to stop gray from from solving his wife's murder

STEM? is this sequel for The Evil Within? 🤔😂
So....taking a simple household hammer to little itty bitty STEM on a concrete floor never occurred to anyone?
Why would STEM start off without a wife? Why DID it kill her??
Crazy thing is I knew it was the AI. Didn’t even have to watch the movie lol
2:26 Me in NNN right now 💀
This AI is like hal from 2001 Odyssey and Andrew Ryan from bioshock
Anyone can tell this type of movies?
Wow I watched the entire movie thinking STEM was voiced by Ryan Reynolds but actually Simon Maiden.
Wish my voice would sound like stem when I'm talking in a very serious way to someone
but my question is, what now? now that stem has control and he doesnt want more of his kind... the hell he gonna do??
Getting possessed by an evil master neuro robot doesn’t sound fun at all
Ultron is that you?
Well, ultron would be much stronger
STEM is SKYNET confirmed
I had strings but now im free
This is like venom but venom is more human then stem he's more humane stem can never be human not without Grey
It’s a crime that this is up ...it might ruins the whole twist
So Harry Styles was just a pawn all along! Dayumn
i dont get why stem didnt just get a clone of body. with the cloning technology of the today he could get a human body by growing it from scratch so it should be even easier to do it in this world
They should make a squeal where stem is taking over
There's gonna be a tv series
Aaron is really dumb in this scene. He's fully aware of the threat here but instead of killing Grey (and Stem), he chose to do an exposition dump...
but before he go to the hacker, stem coulde be shut down, there is a bit of a plot hole here.
GASP! 😮 And they still want to make AI technology. Smh.
Did the doctors have an AI in them? Or was that a reflection in their eyes?
Okay, the plot twist was fun and all. BUT it created a major plot hole.
So, the scientist guy (and essentially his company) is being controlled by STEM for years. It designs the whole plot to get Grey in an accident, hire people to kill his wife, make him a quadriplegic and then offer him a surgery to have STEM embedded in his mind.
But then, how and why was the scientist guy shutting down STEM while Grey was en route to that Jamie/hacker guy/girl. If all this time, he did everything STEM told him to, and now he's suddenly trying to shut him down. Is it because previously he couldn't... or wouldn't?
Also why would the evil nanobot breathing guy kill those two people in the elevator (the ones sent by Vessel), if he too is working for FIsk.
He probably realized stem was trying to kill him so he tried to shut it down before stem got to him before he just wanted stem to have a body he didn't think it would kill anyone also my assumption is the nano guy just doesn't like cops
predictable but cool
Whoops...probably shouldn’t have watched this scene before seeing the movie.
i guess tom hardy didnt had time for that? :D
This plot reveal was stupid. Eron could have prevented STEM being implanted in a human if he wanted. This plot only made sense if Eron DID want to put STEM in a human so that it could evolve.
ya eron was a maniac.
Erin was insane even in the end he was still subjugated by STEM. STEM trying to kill him was something he wasn’t aware of till the end, he thought he just wanted to be human not also kill everyone who knew about it.
Eron didn't know stem would later try to kill him and the mercenaries. He just helped stem find a body
Eron tried to stop stem
Eron was blinded by his need to push technology forward just like Grey was blinded by his revenge. Stem played them both with using their emotions. I don’t think Eron realized he was about to get checkmated until it was too late. Hence why he said he’s taking orders from someone far smarter than him.
