Interestingly enough I have never seen this form of execution portrayed in movies or television. Hard to believe that Hollywood has overlooked this incredibly brutal form of torture execution.

there is nothing about this form of execution that is fun to portray or remember. Everybody involved in anything to do with this wheel were, quite frankly, sick (pope, courts, audience, executioner, and accused).
It's actually an embarrassing thing to highlight about any culture if you think about it.

It makes me very grateful that there eventually was a 'New' World for people to escape this stuff from and have civil liberties. Lol Uru the nails pulls 2 main tendons in the wrist and feet one nail can go through both feet straight through or nailed to the side and you stretch the tendons when you lean up to breath so you just hang until you are too weak to pull yourself up and sometime they would break your legs so you would just hang and get small amounts of air til you die

the anime is a bit all over the place and far from the quality of the manga, but still a great watch.
I'd suggest starting with the original anime or the 3 most recent movie . they are the same arc , but the former have more story/character development while the latter have a bigger production quality but compress the whole og anime into like 5 hours ( cant remember exactly ).
I didn't watch the following ( most recent anime ) as the quality of it just seemed disappointing and they skip some arcs for some reason
