Oh my god. Oh my god. This round, as much as I am PROUD of it. This was a video where I procrastinated so much, on purpose AND not on purpose. These last few months have been just hella busy. With everything going in my life it was hard sometimes to sit down and just edit.
But it's here, I'm done and I am not gonna take THIS long ever again if I can help it. But yeah! Here is round 1, hope you all like it! Enjoy!
(P.S. There are some things I couldn't put in thanks to my life/time limit. So I'm sorry for anyone I plotted with, I wasn't able to put in our scenes. Hopefully next round I'll be more better about that!)

Story: (SPOILERS READ AFTER)
- Lillie and the other crew wake up. All confused and wet. (tehee) They all wonder where they are when Vaider tells them they are at Roanoke. After that Zac runs into Lillie.
- Zac is shocked to see Lillie, but he is not the only one; Alex is as well. Lillie, not remembering either of them cause of her amnesia asks who they are. Both are surprised and immediately start bombarding her questions. Overwhelming the poor girl by accident, forcing her to yell at them to leave her alone. There she runs blindly into the forest until she runs into a tree.
- There at the tree she breathes but remembers when Zac mentioned, Cain. This causes a memory to resurface and she remembers Cain is who owns her? He abused her? It shocks the girl.
- While she is away, the crew meets Cornelia who is confused and leads them to where Lillie is. Surprise, surprise, she is at the very tree the girl tells them about. They all wonder what it means and immediately go searching for clues. To which Lillie mocks cause she is blind, but she finds something. It feels like a locket and she can't get it open until Javier helps her out.
- Once opened it is revealed to have a family portrait in it. A woman in it, holding what is also revealed to be Lillie when she was younger. And the man is Robert, Javier's dad. Revealing they are half-siblings.
- - Their reunion/disbelief is interrupted when Zac runs into her. Lille isn't too happy to hear his voice. He explains he is sorry and won't bother her anymore; as he is going back to Catherine. That name triggers another memory for Lillie and she asks if that's the bitch who abuses him. He is surprised and asks if she remembers, she does not. He apologizes again and tells her that Catherine is the only one who could love him.
- Lillie smells bullshit. But it is something else that triggers her memory of both Alex and Zac, remembering how she loves them both. Instantly gaining her memories. Of not only of them, but how she was indeed not always blind.
- Before she could say anything though she is snapped back into reality when wolves attack. Zac protects her and Lillie reveals she remembers who Alex is by saying her nickname she gave her, begging her to stay away. From there a strangers saves them. Leaving them all confused.

Lillie seems to have partial amnesia, but, slowly and surely, she's starting to remember her past.
Helllooo. At last we bring you the judge comments so here we go!:
JUDGE NOTES:
-Excellent excellent EXCELLENT manips! This video is absolutely gorgeous to look at and is overall extremely well made!
-The tone and atmosphere is perfect! Truly it conveys what we’re looking for and what we were imagining for the overall feel for Roanoke
-Great job on changing Lillie’s clothes! All of those manips came out really well and look really good!
-Animation with the grass with Vaider at 0:06 is super well done!
-Amazing wolf climax!
-A critique we had is that the pacing is EXTREMELY fast. Many things happen throughout the video and there is never enough time to really take it in. For example, Cornelia’s introduction itself feels like it’s on fast forward and the ‘half sibling’ reveal is revealed but then shortly cut away to Zac’s scene without Lillie or the audience really taking it in. We actually found this to be a shame since the pacing was one of your ultimate strengths of your audition.
-Lillie being blind is a wonderful character defect, but we would’ve liked to see it be played around with it a bit more. Don’t be afraid to be creative and stylistic with it!
PERSONAL NOTES:
-0:04, 0:12, 0:19, 2:01, 3:43, 3:45, 3:46, 3:56-3:57, 3:59, and 4:00 are AMAZING manips
-I love how you have tree shadows over the characters for most of the entry! Wonderful touch of detail!
-I really like your use of the foggy forest! It’s the perfect feel I had going for with the island and you captured it perfectly! Bonus points for having the fog overlap the characters!
-Love Lillie coincidentally running against the Croatoan tree lol
-LOVE the lyric matching at 1:34 with “Cain was angry” in showing the flashback with Cain and Lillie
-Also nicely done with changing John’s color pallet
-I love Lillie with green eyes! Almost the same shade as lily pads!
-Picture at 2:28 is beautiful!
-Your flashback shots are gorgeous!
-Nice detail of showing it slowly becoming dark!
-The inner monologue, for the most part, is kinda unnecessary. I think you did such an excellent job picking the perfect expressions that we don’t need to hear what she’s thinking, her face already tells us. Same goes for the inner monologue with Alex (which doesn’t make a lot of sense since this round is solely from Lillie’s point of view).
-I think you had Lillie remember too much too fast. On top of suddenly finding out her and Javier are half-siblings, she suddenly remembers Zac, Alex, and her feelings for both of them. But, for the audience, we don’t feel that same connection. It was intriguing for us that Lillie had to really work to regain those memories AND those feelings back when Zac and Alex still had them, but had to work around Lillie’s amnesia. However, by having her now gain a lot of these memories back, all of that setup that would’ve been meant for the audience to get attached to the characters AND the romance is lost.
Overall, it’s an incredibly well edited entry, but not without its writing flaws. We feel you put too many cards on the table in round one, when we would’ve liked you see you keep a lot of these things secret, as the secrecy of the amnesia plot is what really intrigued us. Still, even with those flaws, it’s not an entry to skip! Your visuals, atmosphere, and musical queues are flawless and it was definitely your strength this round! Good job and good luck in the contest!
VULPEEEE! I LOVE the lighting in this video! With the sun rays, the shadow of the leaves, and the mist! I think it really adds to the atmosphere :D And I really like the way you designed the shooter! With the dark shadows and red eyes! It makes me wish I did something like that xD And of course our babies!! GAH! MORE FLUFF :P

I can't even tell you how much respect I have towards you for editing with a character like Ariel. Like she's 99% time half naked on the film! And you nailed the editing sooooo well! Look at all these fantastic manips of her. And you made it really believable that she's actually blind. Poor little girl♥
I really like the plot with Alex and Zac. Makes me wonder what's Lillie had going on between those two... really intriguing! And ofc I adore our babies plot, can't wait to have Javier be more brotherly towards her. And lets talk about the wolf scene ok?? FANTASTIC! You edited the wolves so well, like what the crap, changing the snow into dirt?? Genious! And their glowing eyes are also so spooky. AND ZAC HOLDING LILLIE @3:43 I CAN'T COMPREHEND HOW YOU PULLED THAT OFF, IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!
Overall you did such an amazing job with this! Love the atmosphere, the song choice and the dialogue. And ofc our cutiepie Lillie♥
This is so cool. The editing is really amazing, I especially loved the part where Zac pulled Lilly away from the wolves. And the story is really interesting too.

Holy crap, I love this!!!
So, you know I love this, like legit love it sooo much! The polyship was a surprise I didn't see coming and I LOVE it! I loved the flashback scenes a ton! I love that she's getting her memories back. I love her sassyness whenever it comes out; can't wait to see more of that. I need to see her story unfold, Chels. Give it to meeeeeee!!
