- The Chans and the Enforcers fight over the seventh Oni mask when it is placed online for auction. Both are surprised when Valmont turns out to have put in the winning bid for it, in hopes of summoning its Shadowkhan tribe to commit crimes. In the struggle to get it back, the mask is split in two, with Valmont putting on one half and gaining the ability to summon only half-Shadowkhan warriors of the tribe. Jade decides to wear the other half of the mask to counter him with the other half of the tribe's warriors. Both soon fight against the mask's evil when it asserts its dominance, forcing Jackie to track down the removal spell after it was accidentally dropped into a postal truck.

Daolon Wong and the Enforcers have been taken into custody and incarcerated. Planning to escape, Wong attempts to summon the Shadowkhan. Instead, he unleashes an ancient evil known as Tarakudo, Lord of all Oni and King of the Shadowkhan. Jackie and crew find out that the masks have been scattered across the globe and that each mask contains the power to control a different tribe of Shadowkhan as well as a different ingredient to remove and subdue the mask.

Damn this episode really did Valmont dirty, It's embarrassing by your apartment and how far you've fallen by your former enemies but your former henchmen is just humiliating
I'd say the episode did Valmont very appropriately. Crime doesn't pay, and considering how he spent his entire fortune hunting for Talismans so he could acquire a treasure that Shendu was never going to give him in the first place, he got exactly what was coming to him. His greed overrides his common sense every time, even at the end of this episode, it shows he still hasn't learned his lesson.

@@alfredhinton8792 By S5 he’s basically a broken miserable man. Notice how he runs away from Jackie without saying anything. But hey, at least he has a job now. At least he has a steady source of income. He’ll likely never be wealthy again and he’s likely very depressed from losing everything but maybe he can eventually find peace through an honest living.

Valmont going from crime boss to broke employee over the course of JCA is a lot funnier in retrospect.
Poor guy can’t catch a break. I sometime forget he used to be Jackie’s nemesis.
He ends up as a bus driver in the final. Not saying he doesn’t deserve it but man how the mighty have fallen. Reminds me of the song by Coldplay.

Man valmont is a perfect example of fallen from grace and riches to rags because Again since his fighting skills are on par with Jackie chan's fighting skills, he should've done some underground illegal fighting to get his Fortune back but instead he decided to stay broke with him having cameos in the final season having the son of shendu rejecting him being a henchman and being a bus driver without saying any lines with them changing his voice actor which brings the question how did he became rich since he was a child in the first place??? Lol
I think depression hit him after so many humiliations. Once, he was at the top of the criminal underworld and now, he lost all his wealth and his underlings and he became the laughingstock of the criminal underworld that once respected him. It safe to say he lost more than just his wealth at this point. All he have left now is his pride and even that is on its way to go.

I can! Hot Take! The show would have been better off without Drago, and S5 in general. I would have preferred it if the show ended in S4, albeit with the S4 finale significantly improved and not rushed the way it was.

I always find this episode funny.😂
In Season 1 they traveled the world to look for talismans. Little did they know right around the corner of those places were oni masks, and demon portals.
There’s something real funny about the fact that the first Talisman quest and the Demon gates quest both end in Hong Kong and that the Oni Mask quest starts in Hon Kong.
What I don’t get is why Tarakudo wasn’t in this episode.

I'm defending her with both the Tattoo and the Oni Mask. Jade put the Mask on to save Jackie's life out of desperation, and in the case of the Tattoo, she had no way of knowing, or any reason to think the tattoo would infect her with dark magic.

I like season 2 starting because Tohru joins Uncle and is in the good guys side althought he always got scolded by Uncle often for making mistakes😂 and at least when comes to Oni mask, he's the only hope for Uncle to defeat the oni.
You'd think Valmont would have already learned his lesson with demonic forces, after being possessed by Shendu for an entire season. And that's without taking in account of having to also put up with his siblings.

This is the the only episode of the Oni Mask arc where Tarakudo does not appear despite the victims donning a mask. This could be due to Jade and Valmont already knowing how to harness the power to summon Shadowkhans (Jade with the mark of tattoo, and Valmont under the possession of Shendu back in Season 2) that Tarakudo most likely felt no need to attend their scenarios.

I am going to adress something that is obvious, but since it happened to me so directly I am going to say something. The internet is known for the rudeness of people being hurtful with verbal bullying. This recently happened to me because said other person thought they were being funny and clever with how wrong they considered my opinion on a TV Show to be. It wasn't. But it was veild. Even that type of bullying is bullying. Words hurt. Even over the Internet. I urge anyone writing comments to consider how they phrase things, because I know this could happen unintentionally, just as easily. It was clear the person threading my comment was saying it on purpose, but was saying it in a way as to give him or herself an out.
