- In this short video, I describe how I will make repairs to the engine's wiring harness. I describe in detail the electrical connections you will need with part numbers and show you where to purchase better than new wiring using TXL that will closely match the original wires (including colored stripes). Please subscribe to support my CZcams channel.

I am documenting every part of the 560SL restoration build . The idea is to end up with the best documented 560SL rebuilds on the Internet.
I want everyone who visits my channel to know about a friend of mine named Tasos. His videos inspire me to be more like him. He is so much better than I am. You can find his CZcams channel at:

My videos are not sponsored by anyone. The products and tools I use are products and tools I have purchased with my own money. I include links below to any special tools or products used in this video.
All electrical connections were purchased at Mercedes (MBUSA). I have already provided the part numbers for all electrical connections in the video.
For the wire, I am using EFI Connection 20 Gauge wire which is available in many different color combinations. Here is a link to the dark green and black:

From there you can select other color combinations.
You can find more in the EFI Connection website:

When I wrap the wiring harness I will be using Tesa's Most Advanced High Heat Harness Tape 51036:

For the Cold Start Valve boot I purchased this:

That's all the special products I used in this video.
I will be doing a CZcams live when I start this car for the very first time since 2008. Make sure you get notified when I publish a new video so you don't miss this special one-time event. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
So much will be cured with a new/retrofitted wiring harness. Great that you’re finding wires that match the existing wiring almost exactly. Excellent job!
good work Tony , I'm going to check my wires they are very stiff
Tony you're awesome. Great video and thanks for the part numbers.
Good on ya Tony, Thanks !
while pulling out a relay on my 76 the whole relay and station pulled out of the panel. Impossible to reinstall now due to the angle and not being able to get two hands in the pass size foot area..I cant figure out what the relay did but so far it seems like it did nothing important, however id like to get it back into position , I did take a photo of it so I know where the wires went but its really upsetting
Wow you are meticulous. I occasionally visit Junk Yards and just so I have the information and do encounter a 560SL, where does the Engine Wiring Harness connect off the engine and on to the body? Does it route directly to the Engine Control Module under the passenger floor or is there a connector under the hood????
The left side wiring harness (the one I’m working on here) originates from behind the passenger’s glovebox area. It also has a leg that goes into the firewall on the drivers side. Then there is another harness on the right side which takes care of things like the oil level sensor. It too originates under the dash on the passenger side. Like I said, if I can get enough donations (or a donated harness) I will 100% rebuild the harness and make a detailed video of the process.
