  • In this video, I meticulously trace the path of every electrical connection from the engine's wiring harness on both the left and right sides of the engine. If it connects to the engine, then I'm going to show you in detail the routing of that connection and what it plugs in to (sensor or switch), including part numbers. I am documenting every part of the 560SL restoration build . The idea is to end up with the best documented 560SL rebuilds on the Internet.
I want everyone who visits my channel to know about a friend of mine named Tasos. His videos inspire me to be more like him. He is so much better than I am. You can find his CZcams channel at:

Nice work Tony I have been restoring an 86 560SL for the last 10 years , is low miles 69,000 the engine is in very good condition all else needed work since was abandoned for 20 years , now looks like new , all working except that the a/c does not start

That’s awesome to hear. I think there are more R107’S without a working A/C than with a working one.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I completely missed that. I know exactly what you are talking about. I’ll look for one OR I’ll make one.

Hey Tony! Enjoying your channel! I’m a fellow Phoenician! I have a couple questions. Do you have a machine shop that you prefer for having heads cleaned/shaved?
Do you have a source for timing chain guides, all I seem to find are Febi …
    Thanks!!!
    Brad

You obviously haven’t seen my video titled “The Incompetent Machinist”: czcams.com/video/tSP3MIbSXhE/video.html
Unfortunately I was not able to find a competent machine shop. I’m sure there are some, but I haven’t found one.
I don’t know why you can only find febi guide rails. I have no problem finding genuine MB. Here are some examples: mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-tensioner-rail-1170501616
      mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-slide-rails-1170521016
      mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-slide-rails-1170501816
Swag is another good source. This is a swag which is comparable to the 1170501816 at MBUSA: www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/1170501816.htm

Bravo, Tony, great video, very informative. I would like to ask you for a favor. I am about to make a video which can be hardly found on the internet but I need some infos more concerning the v8 engines because few people drive a V8 here in Serbia. If you could just tell me what it says on your fuel distributor. It says MT(and which numbers then) as well as on the airflow meter(LM and then which numbers). If you would be kind to write me in a comment, please. Great video. Concerning your car you could now put the price for it of 60k $ easily!!!! It's in a great shape. Greetings and thanks again in advance!

      Thank you my friend ❤️ My Bosch fuel distributor has the following information. MT0005 (part # 0 438 101 018) and LM0005 part # 0 438 121 037).
