    Wow Mr Tony graet content! I've just moved my W124 3.0L 1988 from garage after 12 years and I have a problems :( We have a presure of gasoline before the distributor but there is none after. Do you knoe if there should be a 12V after ignition on this plug attached to distributor??

    • @TonyLiveTV
      @TonyLiveTV Před 9 dny

      Fuel is pressurized by the fuel pumps. The fuel regulator determines how much fuel is deliver based on pressures. If that is working properly and you have constant fuel to the distributor, then something is likely wrong with the distributor. You need a Bosch fuel injection pressure gauge to diagnose the KE-Jetronics properly. All are simple tests, but you need the right tools. The biggest problem with these cars is the fuel delivery system. Most problems are because of dirty fuel and ethanol. I think the going rate to have your fuel distributor rebuilt and calibrated is about $1,000. These are not cheap vehicles to maintain.

    • @michalkarol2959
      @michalkarol2959 Před 9 dny

      @@TonyLiveTV I've changed both pumps and filter, and we've started the engine finally but there was a problem on one of cylinders (it worked probably only on 5 intead of 6) so probably i need to check injectors too. The next day it was impossible to start it again, ,and as I've mentioned You before we have checked the presure before distrubotor and it looked okey, but on the end of injector cords almost nothing. So is that electric plug on distributor a fuel regulator?? Or you mean the one near pumps??

    • @TonyLiveTV
      @TonyLiveTV Před 9 dny

      @@michalkarol2959 I guess you are talking about the EHA valve. The regulator is mechanical and shiny metal (looks like a filter) and is attached to the same bracket that your incoming fuel line is attached to. You can try disconnecting the EHA and try starting. You can also test the EHA. The KE-Jetronics is simple, but complicated. It is simple for what it does, but it is very complicated on how it does it. To properly diagnose these systems you need a Bosch CIS test kit. You need to test both sides of the distributor to make sure the pressures are within specifications. These pressures are controlled by a diaphragm on the top of the distributor. I tested my fuel lines, filters and the injectors prior to installing so for me I know I have fuel flowing from the pumps to the distributor. Once at the distributor and ready to start like you are now, you kind of need a Bosch CIS test kit. This is the test kit I own: amzn.to/3xDHKpX

Do what you can do for this 3mm stones. The doctor told me if I had small stones they can break them up with ultrasound. Much better way to go. When they get bug like mine (11mm) they can't break it that way because the broken pieces of that size will cut you up bad.

Most of the time you only notice the doctors' mistakes when it is already too late. The biggest problem is that a lot of money is made from health. But first of all, it is nice that you are doing reasonably well. Unfortunately, it is like this: you go to 3 doctors and receive 4 different diagnoses 😏. Thank you so much Roger. I thought only R107 owners would appreciate my videos. When I first started rebuilding this vehicle I knew I had to document things because I needed to put it all back together at some point. That’s when my CZcams channel was created. Now I have a place to store my video footage and I can share it with others. When you are on the video side of things you look at the restoration differently. It forces you to have a beginning to the end. When you are editing video footage you are reviewing the process again, and again and again and again. Without my videos it would be much harder for me. I hope to do a video today or tomorrow. The reason for the video is to connect with my subscribers and let them know what is going on. I was supposed to go live on Saturday June 8, 2024, but on Friday morning I had severe back pain. It was so bad that I passed out from it. At around 2 am I was rushed to the hospital and I was scheduled for emergency surgery for Saturday afternoon. I was in the operating room ready for the procedure and I was told that the doctor was a no show (I later found out that was a lie). So I had to go to another hospital and I was scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Again I am in the operating room and this time I had surgery. Unfortunately the doctor was unable to complete the surgery. So I went home on Tuesday in pain with no medication. Not fun! Now I am scheduled for surgery on Tuesday to finish what he started on. I’ve been in pain and too tired to do a video follow up. The live stream was for the first start! I expect I will be out for a couple more weeks and then the first start live! I can’t wait to hear it run for the first time since 2008.

    • @TonyLiveTV
      @TonyLiveTV Před 18 dny

      I knew it was put together wrong in the video. Was it taken apart by someone else and they put it on wrong? Could be. I’ll never know because the manual doesn’t care about the clamp either. All you care about is that it doesn’t leak. The strapping comes long because it’s used for other things. Doubling it won’t do much good or bad so choose one. The strap is held with a special clamp. That’s where you need to make sure you have a couple of turns on the clamp itself. Then on the clamp you lock it down. Personally I do not like this setup. The ONLY reason I am using this strap and clamp is because it was built this way. I would much rather use a regular clamp and a socket to tighten. That would be my modification.

      @@jamieplays2007 I don’t know what model you have, but I can guarantee the part numbers listed are correct. I know this because I replaced every single bolt and these are the part numbers. The part numbers that start with “1-“, “3-“ and “4-“ represents the quantity and not the part number. I mentioned this in the video. Example, 3-000912-008204. This means that you need 3 of the 000912-008204.

    Good job Tony. Seems odd that the strainer could not be made to line up centrally with the hole in the floor when it surely must have been intended that the hole would facilitate its removal without taking the tank out but clearly that was not possible from your efforts here

    • @TonyLiveTV
      @TonyLiveTV Před 26 dny

      Actually it is quite common on the 560SL that the strainer hole is misaligned. And to be honest with you, removing it was so darn easy that I probably wouldn’t do it any other way.

      @TonyLiveTV Před měsícem

      You are 100% correct. I didn’t have the new one yet and I needed to make some progress. That said, you are supposed to be able to replace the grommet with the tank installed. I just received the new grommet. I think I will install it later today and find out. You’ll notice in the video I did mention that it was not easy to install even with the tank out. We will soon find out.

      I don’t think they are available. For the one next to strainer it is 1074712180 and the return line is 1074712080. It is more of a neoprene rubber and not foam.

    Early this year rebuilt fuel pump assembly, replaced fuel tank strainer as well as feed line. I used double nut and bolt to remove fuel strainer. Interesting video for sure!

    • @TonyLiveTV
      @TonyLiveTV Před měsícem

      Hey there MrBobby. I don’t remember if you mentioned which model you have. For the 560SL this misalignment is common and using the bolt-n-nut method as described in the manual wouldn’t work well and could result in a cross threaded strainer. In my case I needed to at least move the tank to remove the strainer. In order to move the tank, you basically have the tank removed so I did. It was super easy to do and didn’t take much time. I think the cost of the socket is less than the cost of the bolt and nuts you will never use again. The level sensor is also 46mm and can be easily replaced with the tank in the vehicle. The level sensor was working when I parked it, but I’m ready to change it if needed. I already have a new sensor I purchased years ago. I think I paid less than $50 and now they are over $200!

    Hi Tony, I decided to replace distributor in my 1987 560. Did you notice that the spring on weights is fitted in the opposite side in the new unlike the old distributor ? Probably makes no difference or does it ? How you have time to answer this. MH

    • @TonyLiveTV
      @TonyLiveTV Před měsícem

      The original distributor and the rebuilt distributor are 100% identical in my case. They are the exact same part number and the spring and weights position are identical. In fact, in this video you can see both distributors showing the spring and weight.
