Great review and I mostly agree. I have both, but I keep the i3E on my key ring because it's crowded. I prefer the 1R2 Pro on low power because its not as harsh on the eyes as the i3E when used as a bedside light to walk to the bathroom. On high power, the 1R2 Pro appears considerably brighter than the i3E. All in all, I think the 1R2 Pro is the better light, but the i3E does have some advantages…AAA battery and thinness. I'm comparing them side by side in a dark room as I type. Btw, the AAA that came with the i3E does last a long time. Still haven't replaced mine yet.

Thanks! I went with the i3e because of it being skinny and the ability to just change the battery out if it were to die. I carry a 2 AAA battery/charger kit in my sound engineering rig and this will be perfect. Great review!

Have you considered the original i1R2? I think it’s the best of both worlds here.
I find the low 5 lm level to come into play a lot more than the higher mode. The i3E is a great light, but sometimes it puts out too much power if you are in the dark, looking at something closely such as a keyhole.
Olight’s forte is making keychain lights imo.

I have both the i3E and the iR2 Pro and I'd agree that the i3E is too harsh to use as a bedside/keyhole light. The iR2 Pro's low power is much better in that regard, and it's high power is also noticeably brighter than the i3E. i3E is for thinness, AAA battery, and jack of all trades use. I think the iR2 Pro is an all around better light….aside from its increased thickness.
Nice review! I sent the i1R2 Pro back to the jungle because 5 lumens is pretty worthless. That same day i got the FREE i3E EOS directly from Olight during their free give away! 90 lumens is much more usefull for ME. I use a rechargeable AAA NiMh battery which increases the run time to 70 minutes according to Olight. Thanks for this video!!
You know the iR2 Pro is 5 low and 180 high? You twist it tighter.
@@Phougi Yes, I know that. I sent it back because I wanted more lumens on the low end. The 180 was fine on the high end. 5 lumens was not bright enough to walk my dogs at night. 180 was a little too bright for that. The 90 lumens of the i3E EOS is perfect for my dog walking needs.
Yes, but 5 lumens is perfect for a bedside light to use to walk to the bathroom without shutting down your pupils. @@krazmokramer
