- Another week without @Shmee150 who has embarked on an adventure to Germany in the 718 Cayman GT4 and GT R Roadster, leaving Brad and Tom in charge of @TheShmuseum once again! Speaking of the GT4, the old exhaust system needs to be picked up from JZM, many of the Shmeemobiles need a well-deserved wash, some need a service, and Brad has his first Taycan experience...
The old exhaust from the 718 Cayman GT4 is being stored over at Porsche Heaven, otherwise known as JZM Porsche. Tom's going to take us for a quick tour of some of his highlights in their showroom.
Then it was time to show The Shmeemobiles some love, and a massive thanks to the guy at Koi Detailing for coming down to get six of them cleaned and looking brand new, ready for their next outings. Next the GR Yaris and Focus RS need to have their annual services, so we take both of them to their dealerships to be completed.
Finally it was time for another lunch run, and an opportunity for Brad to experience the EV power of the Porsche Taycan. Along the way we get some lovely photos of the car and talk about how silly the acceleration is.

Hey if you want to cut down on the dust look in to getting a door fan. It hangs inside just above the door and blows outside when the door is open. If you get one it will cut down the dust by well over half.

You could use a ventilation system that keeps positive pressure on the barn to blow it out. They use it in production factories as well to keep dust out of their products.

Small thing on the sim rig, it's going to be worth setting the wheel rotation on the Whee Base and in R3E to the same value so that movements are 1:1 between real life and in game. For R3E, if recommend 700deg of rotation. That should make things feel a little bit nicer :)
That concrete floor needs some really good quality garage paint on top because right now it's not helping with all the dust on the cars.
It is really really satisfying to see all the cars being kept clean! Please invest in some good tire polish to finish off that pristine look on all the shmeemobiles, and just keeping everything perfect. #AttentionToDetail

You should invest in a couple of robotic vacuum cleaners that kick in over night to keep some of the dust at bay. Also a few HEPA filters with ionisers built in.

Here in the US, more and more states are going for annual inspections like the UK MOT. Here in Texas after 2 years a vehicle has to have an annual inspection similar to the MOT, again brakes, lights, safety belts, tires, etc…..

That sounds like good news, the US relies heavily on cars so it was weird when I found out they don't require any kind of checks to be road worthy.

Great job guys! I am not an EV Person myself, I almost hate the taycan (turbo s, without any turbos of course!!). I have to mention that I am a mechanical engineer...and electric vehicles are not yet an option for me

I was wondering. Back when Tim stored his cars in the normal underground garages he used Tyrecushions to prevent the tyres from flattening out. Why aren’t they being used anymore?
Not sure if because of the sponsorship thing that makes tim promote the tyre cushions
Maybe it's because the cars are getting moved more frequently even in his absence since he now has a team so no need to use tyre cushions.
What about the other BMW 2-door where has that been here ?
Might not be super important, but whenever you guys are on the simulator it looks like the wheel rotation is set up wrong? Maybe have a play with the settings to make it more 1:1?

Most states in the US have a annual or biannual State Inspection that all cars on public roads have to go through. It is the same kind of thing as a MoT. The actual items inspected and the requirements vary from state to state, but it is the same concept.
I used to work for a rental car company and we dealt with cars from almost every state. The majority of them do. There only a handful that didn't.

What are the running costs for the museum? There's so many awesome motor vehicles and you seem to have to do something all the time. I know the running costs of my Porsche, but that's only one car.
