    Some more tips Ill say is get an oil pan that holds the oil for transportation. Many auto shops will take it and recycle it for you, you just have to get it to them. AND YOU WANT TO BE DISCIPLINED HOW YOU DISPOSE OF THE OIL AND FILTER!

    thanks man. I have brand new 2021 r3 it has only done 1900km I thought the oil was low af but after watching your video it looked the same and then you said "tilt the bike to see what level oil is". My bike was a stand tilt so I have tilted bike upright yet to see if oil levels are good but I think it should. life saver. I was just about to go buy me some oil but I just got a service done @ 1000km. thank you for helping me unintentionally haha. nice bike btw love the leds

    hmmm, thats good advice for a fresh R3. but i bought my R3 with 3,500 miles on it last July. i've got it up to about 7,500 now with only 5 months of riding. surely there is more to do than oil changes and chain cleaning. i might slide through to my local Yammy dealer and see what they say

    word for word textbook wise you wanna put an oil filter on 2/3rds pf a turn past the point when you feel it hit the baseplate

    I'm not sure who said to tighten the oil filter slightly tighter then your hands and thats definitely not true you can actually damage the threads on the engine or the oil filter causing it to leak or not filter properly. I'd suggest you only hand tighten the oil filter in the future, if your nervous after u drive a few days you can go ahead and try tightening it again with only your hands but if you lube the filter threads and seal id be willing to bet it'll be just as tight as u left it. Just a heads up, I love your bike and would hate to see the engine get damaged from over tightening.

    This is very useful for when I do my maintenance. How often are you supposed to change the oil?
    I bought mine used and don't have the maintenance manual. 2018 Yamaha YZF R3

    • @fatbongripz4207
      @fatbongripz4207 Před rokem

      if you bought it used like i did, first thing you should do is an oil change and reset the oil on the speedometer. i bought mine at 3,500 miles, light came on at 4,000. my light came on again t 7,000. so every 3k miles
