    I had to buy a filter wrench because the previous owner of my r3 torqued it to well over 100nm for some reason, same to the sump plug so had to replace that too 🙃

    • @AussieMoto
      @AussieMoto  Před rokem +3

      That’s a fair enough reason to use a filter wrench, you’re excused! 😂😂

      @@AussieMoto Was worried a bit that I might need a grip strengthening tool and a few weeks to unscrew the filter, but turned out OK. Everything worked fine in the end😃

    Loved those safety gear sandals! I just traded my 2011 CBR250R for the “bike of my dreams”, a 2022 R3 60th Anniversary Edition. Wow. I love it. Just under 1000 kilometres in just over a week. I plan to do all the servicing myself but am sitting on the fence for the first service and may take it to my local dealer for that one. Great video! Subscribed.

    I found this guide very hard.. every time I try to watch it in the garage on my phone it gets to around 10seconds into the video and then have to turn my phone off and go outside. Any advice on how to get past that part?

    Great video but what do I do with the old oil and filter? I heard you can recycle the oil some places but can the filter just go in the dumpster?

    • @AussieMoto
      @AussieMoto  Před 7 měsíci

      Drain the filter for a couple of weeks, upside down, into your oil drain pan, then it can be thrown away. Or talk to your local mechanic and see if they mind you dumping a couple litres with them every now and then.

  • @privateviewer904

    Hi there, I have a 2023 R3 which I bought new and the oil light came on just after 1000 KM, any pointer of what could be the issue or recommendations.....Thank you

    • @AussieMoto
      @AussieMoto  Před 7 měsíci

      The R3 oil light comes on after a pre-determined amount of k’s not because the oil is low. It comes on to let you know you’re due for a change.

    • @kushpaladin
      @kushpaladin Před 4 měsíci

      change the oil sooner during the first oil change. your oil will having little specks in it, basically metal shavings from breaking in the new engine. it clears up after that first oil change

      what u need the manual for? my manual says the oil filter needs 17 N.m (13 ft lbs) and oil drain bolt needs 20 N.m (15 ft lbs) but i never torque them. i just tighten with an adjustable wrench

  • @DanielHernandez-jx8zy
    @DanielHernandez-jx8zy Před 6 měsíci

    some one know about it the torque on sump lug

    • @kushpaladin
      @kushpaladin Před 4 měsíci

      tbh torque isn't necessary just tighting it is enough but manual says oil filter = 17 N.m (13 ft lbs) and drain bolt = 20 N.m (15 ft lbs)

    How many litres do you need to do a oil change??? Awesome video!!!

    • @AussieMoto
      @AussieMoto  Před rokem

      2.3L is all she needs. (A little bit less if you’re not also changing the filter - but it’s easy and cheap so you might as well always do filter.)
