Looks like a great ride. Some smooth and challenging sections. 💪😃

Stuff like this would be no problem on my old DR650, but it's only about 25lbs lighter than this bike. I'm sure this is much more comfortable and better on the pavement, tho.

It looks like you're having a tougher time than those dirt bikes on that rough trail but still doing pretty darn good. Sure do want to try a Versys 300 myself. Is it 1/2 as good as a dirt bike? 3/4 as good? Can you put a percentage on it? Said as an XT500 owner.

Its very subjective. Let me put it to you this way - I take my KLX everywhere and I dump it all the time. Trails I've never been on, and trails that are way beyond my skill level. However, the Versys is probably 100lbs heavier. I try to stick with trails no more difficult than the one in this video when on my Versys. This was the first time I've dumped this bike in about 2400 miles, and it really zaps your energy to try to pick up and U-turn a 400lb bike on a hill. Its tough with a 300lb bike (KLX250), but I've always been able to do it. Seems like after a fall like this, it takes a good 10 minute break to recover. Also, the KLX has knobbies while the Versys has big block tires (I added aftermarket - don't think they make knobbies in the Versys size). I wouldn't take the Versys in wet mud, but the KLX tractors through nearly any type of terrain. Overall, the Versys is much better than I expected it would be, and I'm sure you will come to the same conclusion, but I wouldn't consider taking it on tough enduro singletrack. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks for the detailed reply. Sounds like it might be okay for me but maybe a little too heavy. Sure wish I could try one.

@@uthe54 I believe the X300 is only 400 lbs heavy.

Did you change the front sprocket to a 15 tooth by chance? I went back to stock gearing for just this type of riding. I even went up two teeth on the rear sprocket. Makes a world of difference.
I tried the tall windscreen but removed it after the first few rides because it got dirty and I couldn't see well enough in terrain like the stuff you're going through.

I have always run the stock sprockets on my Versys. Feel like they are just right for the type of riding I do. I did have to clean the windscreen before each ride. It was pretty cold out when we were riding, and the windscreen really make riding the Versys more comfortable than my KLX. Thank you for your comment! Can't wait to go hit the trails again!

My height is 185 cm , will it fit for me or x300 is not for tall people?

You would probably be okay. Just depends on your preferences.

this bike is not meant for this kind of riding. if you must then ok but if you don't need to then I wouldn't.

True, but its always fun to test the limits! Thanks for your comment!
