  • One primary objective for the Tiny Toy Hauler is Sleeping! In this video I talk and experiment with a tri-fold mattress purchased recently on amazon combined with a 2in memory foam mattress.

nice set up! made a few custom beds over the years. Always used 3 different foams, similar to what you are doing here. 3-4" of a real dense foam, then 2" of a memory foam then 1-2" of a soft egg crate foam. But my next build, i think im just going to get a cheaper king sized foam mattress and cut it into 2 beds. You may want to cut some holes in that underlayment board for ventilation. DOnt want moisture and mold under there. But if you remove it every trip, should be fine.

Interesting! I'll consider getting some egg crate foam, that sounds like a good idea. Good tips on the drilling holes, but thinking about it - I've never seen that done. My factory built camper, the mattress just sits on plywood. Interesting idea though. As always, thanks for your comment!

Yeah there is nothing like driving for about eight hours pulling over jumping into bed and getting a good nights sleep.

I'm not well known for making my bed every day either, so having it done once for the whole trip is appealing!
