    Hoping you will get back to this series and make some more videos. This has been the best resource I've found trying to learn the game.

    I would love to see AMG make 3d obstacles

    Solid vid man, looked really good. Nice combination of static shots and moving in the frame.

      Thanks! :) The new setup makes this a lot easier.

    Glad this series is back.
    Regarding obstacles and their placement, and the importance or not of being the first player, I think it can be crucial for swarms. I've never really played on initiative bids, but being able to choose first one big obstacle, let's say, of my opponent, and place it where it won't bother me, can be very useful. I may be wrong thinking that is worth a small bid, yet. If you have thoughts on that, I'm interested.

      Great to hear. :) Unfortunately I'm having trouble producing these atm due to my living situation, but will get back on these when I'm able!

    Is this continuing at some point? Very useful for new players like me. Strategy on moving and shooting would be nice to see

    Hi nick, good video, may be worth adding large base ships can be deployed beyond the range 1 limit as long as the base spans all of the range 1, page 17 rules reference

    Are more of these videos coming? I played a core set few games, read all of the rules, but I'm still a bit confused about certain rules. This has been a great series so far, but looks like it got abandoned?

    • @HairyNick
      @HairyNick  Před 4 lety

      Not abandoned. My living situation changed suddenly and I don't have easy access to the tabletop to record on. Will certainly revisit it when I'm able. In the meantime, was there any rule in particular you needed help with?

    • @jesseleite
      @jesseleite Před 4 lety

      @@HairyNick Not specifically. The series was just a great start for beginners, but didn't get into the meat of the game. Totally understandable though!

    Can you make a meta-analysis of the Atlanta System Open?

      Looking into it. :) Just finding spare time in my schedule.

    Kinda off topic, but just had an interesting thought. What about a bomb/device that lets a ship deploy a gas cloud? It would be a bit like a smoke screen. We already upgrades that allow ships to dump debris.

    • @HairyNick
      @HairyNick  Před 5 lety

      Hmmm an interesting thought. The challenge would be encouraging players to drop something that has a positive effect on your opponents ships (often times).

    • @bardylon
      @bardylon Před 5 lety

      I was thinking of a situation where a ship might find itself heading into a situation where it’s outmatched, pulling a quick turn and dumping a gas cloud to increase their chances of surviving the incoming fire.

    As a new player get in to it. Wich faction do you recommend? I know its based on several things, wich ships you like most/gameplay. Wich is the easiest to play with by example? Cheers

    • @doncorleon8082
      @doncorleon8082 Před 5 lety

      Wich faction are raw-dmg based and wich factions are more tactical?

    • @HairyNick
      @HairyNick  Před 5 lety +1

      Hmmm ok. Based on the criteria you've presented, that's not an easy question to answer. Damage vs Tactics: that is not really something that differs between factions, and if you're talking about ease of use, again each faction seems to present options that can be as complex as you desire.
      I think something you should take a look at, which might help you put these things into perspective is efficiency vs versatility. Although each faction is capable of excelling in either category, primarily; Empire or First Order are the efficiency factions, and Scum or Rebel are the versatility factions. It's the difference between having a focused amount dice math and flight power to help you manufacture the ideal situations (efficiency) vs a toolbox style game-play that helps you adapt to different situations with relative capability (versatility).
      Neither of these are "more tactical" or "easier". It comes down to a different style of game play. I myself am a seasoned Scum player and love versatility in my lists, but that doesn't mean I'd go out and tell everyone to play Scum.
      I know that's not the answer you were after, but I think that understanding key differences like this will help you appreciate the key faction differences. :)

      I go to a tournament today and look closely to the different styles and Im sure i really dont like to play the swarm-tactics 😁 more surprise and flanking if that make sense :)
