just wanted to say that you're attitude and mentality about doing just the basics and just DOING it really helped me out with trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle combining with a 9-5. been going gym consistently now and im just doing the bare minimum and im already feeling like a million bucks. thanks for the videos bro
I was struggling my whole life with forcing myself to eat something early in the morning, since I hate to do that. Now my friend recommended me I should try having a Huel Black in the morning. The chocolate one goes down easily, I feel hydrated (500ml of water in it to mix), 400 kcal and 40g of protein, keeps me well fed for those 3-4 initial hours of the day. Disclaimer: it's NOT a commercial, nobody's paying me to write this. It's just coming from my personal experience, probably having a protein shake with some oatmeal would be similarly good but I just don't want to wake my neighbors with a blender in the morning. It's just something that I found out recently that is really working for me and helped me to "optimise" the meal which I used to hate, aka early breakfast.
I used to drink huel black before the gym as a way to squeeze in an extra 400 calories. My appetite was so small I couldn't physically eat anymore so that was the only way I could get in the extra calories
I work in a warehouse doing a 9-5 (will go to 8-4:30 at somepoint) and at the end of the day I am knackered, I pass a pull up bar on my way home and every day (or when I'm not aching/sore), I'll drop my bag and do as many chin-ups/ pull-ups as I can, at the moment that's about 5, not a lot so I should really start doing sets (which would be 3*3 at this point). I then do some Push-ups at home, I can rep 10 with ease, but this is simply not enough compared to my goals, I want to be hitting 25 in one set at least, so I might increase my volume (at the moment I'm only doing one to two sets). Legs are done with the heavy lifting as neglecting your legs has led to some back injuries, I also walk to work which is almost completely uphill on the way back, my legs are burning by the time I get home. My diet isn't the best, I eat a lot of carbs as they don't trigger my GERD and keep me going on long shifts. I have gained some body fat recently so I'm not sure what's caused that. I think it's natural as this job has got me to eat a regular diet. I'm not very concerned with how my body looks, it is something I want to look "good" but It's not a top priority. My main priority is being able to work for a living and putting out the numbers. the end goal is 50 pushups and 15-20 pullups. A tertiary goal would be to run 5km with ease. Being able to manipulate my body in any way I desire is important for my job, and prevents me getting injured. "Do a little every day"
Not to discredit you as I work myself 9-5 at the moment, but having worked at amazon which was pretty physical 10.5h shift, I can say that maintaining physique or even building muscle is marginally easier during 9-5. I just wanna say that people get pessimistic for no reason and underestimate themselves in terms of how much progress they can make after they get done with their 9-5. Especially if they re-rack their weights.
I've been pushing Sunday-Friday for awhile and I've been starting to feel burnt out. I can never get enough sleep, waking up to go before work every day sucks, and I've been wondering if I could make more progress hitting the same split a little harder just going MWF. I have definitely missed a day here and there and when I get back to the day I missed earlier in the week I feel stronger.. idk if it would slow me down but honestly I'm starting to value some other aspects of my day-to-day than lifting
Sounds like you're forcing yourself a little bit there. Only you can figure out what the right balance is for your lifestyle. If going less makes it more enjoyable and sustainable for you then maybe give that a go. It's really just about finding the right balance
graveyard worker here, 10-6 am. i fast intermittently which is alo 10-6 am works great for me. since i work in fastood. 4 days hard cardio (90 minute trail walk @ 8 km) also walk to work. then 3 days heavy lifting, Farmers walk, barbell for chest back biceps. toke a bit to much lol. losing weight and building endurance are my goals rn.
I just tank the doms tbh. I think they feel kinda good. But if they're getting too much maybe take a few days off the gym until the doms are manageable
How do you guys balance everything?
As a beginner, it’s great to see you as an example of what you can accomplish while leading a balanced life.
Thank you :)

@@deyousi Spot on. I don't ever see myself switching to 100%, hell - even 50% on this stuff, but as a breakfast replacer - it's wonderful for me.

Hi, great video! I have a question. Why don't you take your protein shake with you for office break at lunch? That way you can distribute it better:)
Idk why I've never thought about this lol. Good idea
👌🏼
:)
What kind of bike do you have? Where can I buy it?
It's a road bike from decathlon - one of their more basic cheaper models

I just tank the doms tbh. I think they feel kinda good. But if they're getting too much maybe take a few days off the gym until the doms are manageable
