Tyra is not in on it. She really did only sign one card. It's sleight of hand, not magic. He tells you upfront he is going to move his hands in a way that you won't notice, and then he does the move(the same move several times) and nobody notices it. He is a master of his craft!

He actually started out as a concert pianist and only started magic at 16
If you guys notice, magicians usually use middle finger and the thumb more than other fingers.
Magician here. Shin Lim is phenomenal, a world-cass talent, but not actually the greatest card magician. He is the best at his unique and dramatic fusion of stage illusionism and close-up card magic, no doubt. I can't think of anyone who can touch him in that regard, he's on his own island.
I could give you a whole long list of incredible card mechanics, magicians and sleight-of-hand artists, but I'd definitely recommend Dani Daortiz to start with, possibly the only magician ever to win a Fooler trophy despite not having even been invited on the show. 😂 He was apparently part of the production crew, and got dragged onstage by Penn & Teller on a last-minute whim.
What's special about Dani? Improvisation. This is not a man who needs to rehearse, he does what some of us call "jazz magic", just making half of it up as he goes along, freestyle. That's why P&T got him up there without the usual notice. Enjoy!
It’s really public perception, if public knows about him more than he will be regarded as the best card magician regardless if it is easier

Lol. No duplicates use in this effect. I love seeing muggles react to magic. As magicians he fools us the first few times we watch an act almost to a person. He’s a master and the timing of moves that difficult to music is crazy
He did have duplicate blank cards and several multi colored decks he also forced the queen of spades (notice how her signature isn't on the card "tattoo" on his chest) plus his slight of hand is outstanding great trick but not magic

That's obvious to normal people.. what he actually did was did a top change to give her the blank card and then a double lift to grab a blank card along with her card behind it and then he flipped it
