Amazing how people villify Don. He was the hero of the group, practical and putting himself in danger on the front line trying to protect everyone. He beseeched his wife repeatedly trying to protect her as everyone he had relationships with were falling rapidly, who was not even submissively supporting her husband, but she was all in for a stranger child who also knew the rules and was extremely fit, not winded and then child got everyone killed. The rules were, you fight hand to hand with infected and it is almost certainly a guarantee of your transition to a like minded cannibal murderer within 10 seconds of the fight due to fluid infection. This woman was entirely wrong, and I am not saying Don was right or wrong, but I know which one he was, but the only outcome of Don's slaving and going into a room full of infected for his resistant wife was that their two children would have been orphans. See how many infected were right behind the first into the room? Impossible situation. He HAD to have left his resistant wife who supported the child that got everyone killed instead of her loyal and sacrificial husband.He thus saved their children's father.The child himself saw other structures around but stopped by the from door and made the maximal amount of noise and did everything wrong, instead of try a nearby structure etc, which resulted in so many deaths. Realistically the movie's depiction of Don's wife's survival was impossible, since you can be immune to the virus, but you are not immune to being beaten to death, since the infected just keep going until you begin to be like them or are dead. Don did the only thing he could have done. Don was not a coward either. Honestly, let us say Don's wife became submissive and supported him by leaving the child in the room, just as the infected were breaking in. Mostly likely they both would have gotten out the same window Don used, and got down to the ground. Say she did not hurt her ankle, since mostly likely as a woman, she ran not as quickly as Don over the distance, she would have surely been beaten and bitten to death, and Don would have been trying to pull her and he would have transitioned to one of them, and joined in the massacre of his wife. This needs to be seen from the beginning to know that everything I wrote is absolutely correct. For a lot of us who are inclined to think anything differently, I say emotionally as you do: " Don was the most evil coward in the world and I would have never given up on my wife and the stranger child." (Then we would all have been infected together. One big happy family, with my orphaned kids). Best movie opening scene by the way.

You like oil and conquest. You rarely ever entered a war where you didn't take as much of the natural resources as you could from the opposite country. And dont give that ww2 excuse you always do, you entered the war after more then half of it had passed and dident do NEARLY as much as you tend to say you did(might be what you learn in school or something idk but seems like you just try to take the spotlight/credit for something you dident do)
