Nick I am an Air plantaholic. I have hundreds and not all of them die when they bloom and they all give you babies before they die off if they do. I have several ionantha clusters that have formed from having babies and just keep multiplying!! Let them bloom and you will-love the babies!! 💚💚💚

Love the variety of plants and number ive never heard of! I would love a video about "outdoor" plants that do well as houseplants, or the "false annuals" that people usually just let die when winter comes
Fortunately, neither our cat nor dogs bother with the houseplants. The car sticks his nose up at catnip even lol I had trouble keeping up with watering my purple waffle plant, until I put it in a self watering pot. Now it's always happy and growing well. Just tried propagating it 2 days ago by just putting the cuttings right in the soil in a terrarium. Feel confident they'll do well
Ugh your streptophylla is so BEAUTIFUL. I need one in my life. I'm definitely an air plant and orchid lover. I have mine on a nice branch and they look so pretty idk how anyone can not love airplants and orchids. But to each their own 🤷

Animals have a strong sense for survival.. most animals will stay away from toxic plants. My cats instinctively play with plants that are none toxic. Spider plants and the dracena dragon plant to name 2 of their favs.

The orchids are struggling but they’re all test subjects for my ability to grow them. They are doing much better as I learn to care for them hahahaha

I just got a blue kitten after not having a kitty for 5 years I was so scared for my kitten to start playing with my house plants in my room and he has yet to play or touch any of them. One of my cats doesn't mess with the plants. The other... has single-handedly murdered many many plants. I am always on the lookout for kitty-safe plants :)
I didn't liked orchids because they flower only once or twice a year. Then i found a grammatophyllum and fell. I now have 2 ground orchids, 2 dendrobiums and four onicidiums... and intend to have some more.

We have matching cats lol like identical mine doesnt bother with the plants either shes 13 but now our youngest kitten Gizmo 4 months is a plant demon 😳 he has me on my toes and building Vivariums to protect his adorable fluffy evil like butt !! Thank goodness hes cute and I love him to bits I hope he will get bored with them someday soon ! Great video as always I love all the great info you share in depth 😁👍💚🌿🌱

Not sure where you live, Ralph's has them in pet isle. Some pet stores carry them, or you can get a kit and grow your own.

Every airplant I've ever owned has ultimately met it's untimely demise because a certain feral kitten turned indoor cat spotted them. I swear, doesn't matter where I put the airplants, my cat finds them, hides them, and then pulls them apart leaf by leaf! I managed to rescue one that had been missing for a month (cat had hidden it in her lair under the couch, lmao). She also loves to attack big, fenestrated leaves (RIP my monstera). She loves living with all my plants, so if I have to sacrifice a few for my annoying little furball, I am happy to! :P
Hi Nick and Muffin! I always love seeing you both in a video! The only plant I have that you mentioned is a tillandsia. I started out with 5 and am down to one. ;-( I'll keep trying though! LOL! Yes purple waffle plants are very needy. I've tried them several times, but couldn't get the care down right. They are very pretty plants and I will probably try them again. My pup doesn't have any interest in my houseplants, thank goodness! Thank you so much for sharing!
Philly Fridays! Nick it’s like you read my mind, I just got a frenchie puppy and he chews on everything! I’ve just had to go and move my plants up a shelf & just have to watch him by the ones on the floor like my monstera

@@hometoheather good answer - I’ve owned cats who eat most plants- never seen one pass (thank goodness) so I often wonder, how much plant would a cat need to eat to die? I love my cat, she don’t eat plants. But I’m sure she will not be my last cat 😆
@@Miles_Hoffman They can die from just licking the pollen from a lily off their fur. Others I know are really dangerous are sago palms, elephant’s ear (alocasia), hyacinths, and daffodils.
Sago palm! He mentions it at some point lol but a full video would be nice

3 orchids in the same video?! One of us, one of us!! 😜 This was actually useful, our dogs love to dig around any plant pots they can reach, unfortunately. The orchids are in shelves, but we just rescued a giant peace Lilly from the trash and had to find something to lift it off the floor.
Hi Muffin! Haha I have several cats and for the most part they’re well behaved. If a leaf was in reach they will chew it but they don’t climb up my bookcase to get the plants there
I love the pots. Especially the penis/butt one. We don't have any interesting or fun planter pots where I live. I want some fun ones but don't know where to find them.

Cissus Amazonica slaps. I grow it in many a terrarium. It also can be pretty hardy when it matures and you let it dry out more

I’m very lucky my puppies don’t get in my plants ☺️. I know with cats is little more challenging to keep them away. So this is very good for pet parents to know. Thank you.
And just to tell you that some begonias can be propagated by leaf. You recently mentioned in one of your videos, I don’t know scientific name but leaves look like kidney it big bean shape. And some other Rex begonias as well. It’s just longer process. I’m actually rooting one now just from the leaf. The same one you recently talk about in one of the videos.

Why do people always hate on the majesty palm? I’ve had mine for 2 years and it’s so beautiful! It goes outside in summer and I brought it in for the winter last month and it immediately put out a new frond!

what soil do you use to avoid those tinny animals inside the plant?
I'm also lucky in that my cat doesn't pay any attention to my plants either 😅 though I do preferentially buy non-toxic plants just in case he changes his mind
I found out that asparagus fern was toxic and I died a little inside
My waffle plant is SO dramatic.... It literally looks dead, out of nowhere. Bounces back like nothing else i've ever owned. Waffles is a PITA, but I love him. He likes a pebbletray!

The purple waffle plant should probably be by your recycling… it needs a bunch of water.. so just dump what ever is left in your water bottle.. every other day or so…
My rabbit has a death-wish. He will eat ANY plant he can get access to. Luckily, tall shelves will help keep him away... I'll be stuck when myself and the kids finally convince my partner to get us a cat 😂
Tillandsia may not be toxic to cats/dogs but those poor things are NOT safe from them. The cats always rub on to the poor things then knock them down into the doomed floor that is the dog's territory. I always find traces of them not long after 😅
Does this include birds too?? Like are these plants non-toxic to birds too??

My dog doesn't grab the toxic ones but he will walk up to my Aloe and just bite a chunk off, he also attacks roses -wild or mini! He ate all but 4 of my orchids, I had about 25. This summer he would sit and munch on pansies 🤣 fortunately, they did extremely well so he didn't leave my pots naked! He's the first dog in my life that eats plants! 🤔

UGH, the Jewel Orchid, I love that thing, I take so many cuttings from mine, start them, pot them in cute little 4" pots and give them as gifts all the time. You basically treat it like an incredibly slow growing 'Wandering Jew'
