    Wow, seems like a pretty powerful app.
    The safari scroll feature is not working because it infers your control as a trackpad, and when you drag with a trackpad, it will definitely select the area rather than acting as a touch screen.
    Very cool implementation though.
    Ideally the users should be able to mirror additional desktops and all this config wouldnt be needed (Hats off the the dev/s for making this possible though)

      @jcabassi Před 16 dny

      I wonder if this app designates some other gesture for scrolling. Or if there’s a setting to adjust how it works. I’d imagine you’d be able to scroll somehow.

    Being able to move individual windows from my Mac desktop into space is something I’ve been craving since the very beginning… this app looks amazing, and I also can’t wait to see what Apple announces at WWDC ‘24. The ultimate would be if the AVP 2 could add an additional M2 Pro chip to simultaneously run a host macOS instance… then we could get rid of the laptop altogether and let iOS / macOS apps run side by side.

    • @jeroddunn
      @jeroddunn Před 6 dny

      I'm shocked they didn't do this from the start. Or at least let you do it with a tethered mac. It's the reason I haven't ordered one yet. That is the killer app for VisionPro at the moment, and it never shipped.

    Amongst all the hits Apple has had some blunders, but not allowing multiple Mac screens on a $4000 1st gen device that’s easily purchased for business use has to be the greatest one. Only reason I don’t have one is because it would be a downgrade for work with multi monitor setup. And I’m sure I’m not the only one. 🤦‍♂️. Great video as always. By the way I only watch your Vision Pro videos as you are the only one showing all the features and pain points in short concise chunks.

  • @jeroddunn
    @jeroddunn Před 6 dny +1

    Great overview of the app, but you missed the one thing that I would really like to know: Can you drag items between windows? I use immersed specifically to have multiple monitors open as I leave my different finder windows with my important directories open in one "monitor" specifically so that I don't have to keep re-navigating down the tree to get to common directories. i drag and drop items between them and into open applications. Can you do this with Universal desktop on vision pro?

    • @himelstech
      @himelstech  Před 6 dny +1

      Good question, I don't think you can drag things between windows since it is only mirroring each window in a separate display. Given your use case I'd imagine Immersed is the better fit.

    • @adrianjagielak
      @adrianjagielak Před 17 dny +1

      When you use it alongside the Mac Virtual Display or use a trackpad directly connected to your Vision Pro it is a visionOS cursor, however when you enable a cursor mode and don't use the mac virtual display you can use any mouse/trackpad directly connected to your Mac and it appears as the normal Mac cursor

  • @NeilLavitt
    @NeilLavitt Před 16 dny +1

    Pretty impressive. I may have missed it but when the application is broken out, is it mirroring the window on the Mac? So when you interact on the Mac does the broken out window change?
    Also, with all the windows littered around there seems to be a great need for an Immersed (Meta Version) dock to keep windows neatly organised and possibly even movable as a whole.

    • @himelstech
      @himelstech  Před 16 dny

So, in the part of my video where I'm working on the CapCut timeline, imagine that's Final Cut or Premiere Pro. Every app can be mirrored to show exactly what's on your screen. • @jamauai
    @jamauai Před 16 dny +1

    Way too laggy in my experience. Makes me realize how polished Mac Virtual Display actually is, they definitely have the video stream down. 4K 60 videos play in literal 4K 60. For me, Universal Desktop App can only handle 60fps at the lowest video settings. I'll wait to see if this improves in the future.

    • @adrianjagielak
      @adrianjagielak Před 16 dny +2

      Hi, the lag seems to be currently highly variable depending on your Wi-Fi quality - you get the best results if both your Vision Pro and Mac are connected to a fast Wi-Fi 6 (or ethernet) and are relatively close to your router; In any case the stream is highly customizable - you can specify the frames per second, resolution, quality, codec, bitrate, and more in Mac helper app settings

    • @jamauai
      @jamauai Před 16 dny +1

      @@adrianjagielak I spent a couple hours trying every combination of those settings I could find, all on my Wi-Fi 6E connection, the same connection where Mac Virtual Display runs smoothly. OP hasn't demonstrated much in way of navigation within the windows aside from selecting text, so I'm curious what other reviews will show. Still love the concept and excited to see what the future holds.

      @AlexanderCaley Před 16 dny +2

      Common confusion, Mac virtual display does not use your WiFi router at all! The Vision Pro and Mac connect directly to each other, this feature can be used in isolation with no nearby WiFi network, it is not a network dependent feature.
