Now that Kaiji's getting released in English, I'd hope to see more Nobuyuki Fukumoto. Maybe a purely mahjong-focused series like Akagi wouldn't have the appropriate audience in the west but something like Legend of the Strongest Man Kurosawa might go over better.
Shinichi Sakamoto is someone with no exposure in the English-speaking world but one look at the artwork of Innocent or The Climber should be enough to sell him.
Gou Tanabe has done a ton of really good H.P. Lovecraft adaptations, I'd love to have more of those too. At the Mountains of Madness was astonishingly good.
Masanori Morita has two big series I'm interested in, Rokudenashi Blues and more importantly Rookies.

That would certainly be great. Yeah, I heard those H.P. Lovecraft adaptations are surprisingly good. Would be awesome to see that released over here.

I'd be interesting if a publisher picked up kaze to ki no uta (poem of wind and trees) from keiko takemiya, i read it in English scans and in italian physicals and thought the art and narrative was so ornate yet complex and great! It probably would be a little controversial to the English market due to the themes and ending. Regardless, after the whole contract ending thing that happened with keiko years ago, I hope other english publishers show her work some love ❤️

Yeah, that's be great. Would love to read that series!

If only more people would support the industry perhaps we could see ourselves someday having more of the phenomenal critically acclaimed series we currently don't have, brought over. I myself would like no series more than Ashita No Joe, as no other piece of media has ever connected to me on such a deep and personal level. The fact that we don't have so many renowned series truly is a shame, but we can still sustain the industry and allow it to grow, for the sake of tomorrow.

I second that too. Galaxy Express 999 is one that I’ve been wanting for quite some time as well.

I agree. Funny story on how I learned about Ashita No Joe was that it was the favourite manga of the main character in With the Light. Immediately intrigued me as soon as I read that.

@@Immortallium Once you read ANJ, you start to notice references in almost every series you consume in quite a crazy quantity. I found some in more series than I can count and I still keep finding references in the most unexpected of places, thank you for informing me of the one in With The Light, speaking of which, is With The Light out of print or just temporarily out of stock?

@@Smi-T-Bird I'm pretty sure it's out of print. A shame considering how so many more people should read it.

@@Immortallium So far my only experience with Ashita No Joe is through Megalo Box. Great anime, but I want to experience the original source. There’s also a really great episode of ManBen on Tetsuya Chiba and they do show off some of the original pages from ANJ.

Ashita no Joe needs official english manga release.

Wow I have never heard of the year 24 group but I read Toward terra manga from my local library years ago. I hope these artists that you mentioned get english releases too.

I'm glad to hear that! Yeah, I definitely hope we see more of their works in English. Only way to do that is to support the releases that do come out in English!

To be honest I would love to see tomorrow's Joe 🥊 manga to put on Seven Seas after all they did Devilman and Captain harlock and and Kamen Rider and the Super Sentai Manga. If Seven Seas wants to release tomorrow's Joe then maybe they should have a hardcover or a 2 in1
