  • This video explores the basics of Bolivian history and politics to explain why the country went from a very rich part of the Spanish Empire to one of the poorest places in the continent today. It explores why it lost territory to every one of its neighbors and why it has been so politically unstable. It begins with Francisco Pizarro, goes through the Federal and National Revolutions, the ouster of Goni, the rise of Evo Morales and his resignation. It ends with that aftermath and the election of Luis Arce in 2020.

Unfortunately, Evo Morales is supposed to be the President that unites all Bolivians, indigenous, lower, and middle class, and creates an economic boost for all Bolivians. But a president that wanted to run the 4th term when the old and new constitution allowed any Bolivian president to just run 2 terms but he ran against the referendum of February 21 that he did it where he lost!!
Bolivians told him they didn't want him to run a 4 the term. it was the beginning of a dictatorship where his government started to imprison those who had free speech or thought differently from him. Unfortunately, the reality of Bolivians is too different than the expectations we had for Evo Morales.
Bolivia grew economically like a country but not its people. After 14 years as President, the only one who got richer unfortunately was Evo Morales who got corrupted by power and ambition. He forgot to fight for his people and what he stood for.
I voted for him the 1st time and I got disappointed. Being Aymara president doesn't make you less immune to corruption, unfortunately.
Stop making him a héroe coz the only thing that changed was Evo Morales's bank account not the reality of indigenous and Bolivian people. And the situation is still the same with Luis Arce.

Although I don't agree with calling the Bolivian Socialist Falange "Fascist". They were patriots that were betrayed by the MNR.
And it should be mentioned that Óscar Unzága's Falange was the most popular party before his death in 1959.

Now its 2021, while personally i dont like MAS is back and also im quite anti-socialist generally...honestly there's so much corruption, ineptitude, or shady attitude in both the "rightist" and "leftist" parties that i don't care who's in charge, i want someone or a group to make Bolivia stable, whether its going to be Arce, MAS or any other party
