- World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Bolivia (2020)
Deadliest Roads - All Episodes: • Deadliest Roads | All ...
In the Andean cordillera of Bolivia, two mothers risk their lives as they travel some of the most dangerous roads in the country. After having stocked up in La Paz, the highest capital city in the world, MARIA, the grocer, returns to her village. It’s situated in the high mountains of the Yungas forest. Maria is one of the rare women in Bolivia who dare take on these trails that are lost in the clouds. The grocer is an ace at the wheel and as brave as they come, well worthy of the wages of fear, in risking the trip along the dizzy heights of the ravines. But once she gets up there, her journey is not over.
She runs further risks by taking her mobile store up to a remote village. Maria doesn’t do this for the money, but to bring assistance to the residents, who walk for an hour through the mountains for a few errands. LOURDES ventures along one of the most notorious of the “Roads of Death”, in order to bring help to the women who dig for gold. She tries to persuade them to give up this trade, which will never make them rich and which, more importantly is killing them by slow degrees… whole families work in waters that are highly polluted with mercury.
The road leading to the mines is a way of the cross, with broken-down trucks and landslides regularly cutting off the route. Rain falls incessantly, the weakened mountain sides collapse, carrying houses and roads in their passage. It’s clear that Bolivia, because of global warming, is suffering from extreme climatic phenomena. The fault partly lies with the loggers, who, little by little, are killing the Amazon forest.

#DidYouKnow La Paz, in Bolivia, is the highest administrative capital in the world, resting on the Andes’ Altiplano plateau at more than 3,500m above sea level. It stretches to El Alto city in the highlands, with snow-capped, 6,438m-high Mt. Illimani as its backdrop. The city's dramatic setting can be taken in during rides on Mi Teleférico, the aerial cable car system.
No, I didn't know that... thank you for the information...the more you know.
Sir we need video from nepal plz
There is a road in India in Arunachal Pradesh, from Miao to Vijayanagar, it should be in your video . This is the most toughest road in India but people don't know about it.
44:20 ......so....... Why doesn't she sell the clean water that comes from the fountains of water coming from the mountains?? I mean its better than Dasani.
Was that one camera man ok? That tree was really close to bonking his head
The fact that we get free documentaries on CZcams by Free Documentary is truly a gift. 👏👏👏
True.
Maria is just amazing, incredible and a very strong woman ❤️
Every woman in Bolivia is strong.
@@bobbyt223 praise to all the women 💞
Great driver too 👍
Which is amazing women must try very good Maria business people ❤❤thank you❤❤
@@pinecone1811 sorry maria is an inspiration as a hard worker but not a great driver she need to know what is the fast lane and the slow and most of the break cheeks and honking will stop 😁
These documentaries are simply amazing. I'm speechless. They not only show how these roads are some of the most dangerous in the world, but also how people in those parts of the country struggle on a daily basis.
The adventure of seeing different people and places and how they live is indeed amazing. Thank you for stopping by!
One thing I liked about Maria is that she never forgot where she came from. She kept saying how she was once poor and wanted to help others who were poor. Many people forget where they came from and refuse to help those in need.
Maria's husband realizes two incomes are better than one.
Both woman are doing something wonderful!!
Sad about the Amazon forest. I thought of the movie "The Lorax" when the trees where cut down. They should plant trees after they cut one tree down.
Wouldn't be surprised the trees are cut down for movie scenes on purpose and for politcal news stories so we will donate to greedy bandits.
That’s a great comment 👍💟
i too always get confused when forest workers dont replant a few trees for every tree they cut down.
Maria is amazing!!!! So strong and genuine woman!!! Take care Maria!!!

The shop keeper and her husband good people, doesn’t matter where you come from or how much money you have it’s easy to spot good hearted people. I hope this family is blessed bc they deserve it
Maria is just amazing 🥰😊, such a strong, independent woman! ~ much love from Trinidad 🇹🇹🥰

Thumbs up for Bolivians and FD for this documentary. Greetings from Kenya 🇰🇪

The courage and selflessness of Maria and Lourdes in the face of such daunting challenges are truly inspiring. They risk their lives to bring assistance to their communities and make a positive impact. This documentary sheds light on their remarkable efforts, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn about their stories.
Viva to Bolivian people.
Much love from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪👏👏👏

Legends know it's reloaded. But love these documentaries. Informative, thrilling, struggling for better lives. Salute them for their courage and hard work !
What do you mean reloaded
@@Riaa666 A re-run. Most of this is pretty old footage.
About 15 years ago a new much safer route was completed. This "Death Road" is now mainly open to tourist and mountain bikers.
@@joshriver75 i doubt this is old footage, look at the end credits, this is a 2020 production.
@@dheerajbw I am certain it's old footage.
This is Yungas Rd. It lists it in the description. A newer safer route was built and completed in 2006.
Yungas Rd. is now a tourist attraction only open to foot and bicycle traffic. No motorized vehicles since 2006.

The are rich in spirit and hopefull people. Money doesn't always bring happiness but it makes life easier.

FreeDocumentary should go about doing a Toyota Land Cruiser / Hi-Lux special episode - they feature in all these documentaries everywhere in the world where the roads are non-existent or atrocious or anywhere that a "freedom fighter" needs a DIY tank to attach a machine gun and 9 men with AK's and Machetes.
toyota land cruiser reigns supreme in these unforgiving roads. 💪🏽
They don't call the Toyota Land Cruiser the king of 4x4s for no reason. That red TLC (even with all that load) made things look easy. The only aspect better than the truck was its driver, Maria!💪
What a shocking place to live, bless them... Those miner's are ruining everything and it's all ready bad enough to live there... Very sad but thanks for uploading much appreciated
That land cruiser is BEAutiful
Maria deserves an Oscar
What an incredible badass Maria is!

Watching from Belize central america I'm from and prayers for Bolivia!! In Belize we have a saying better arrive late than never to arrive at all!!✌🏽🙏🌎🇧🇿🇧🇴
I love how this documentary intertwines things that the local people do that seem to that usually exacerbate an issue they are already facing. Land slides are prevented through strong roots. The government needs to recognize this and regulate the logging industry.
That land cruiser tho
What wonderful, strong people! Beautiful and enlightening documentary-a thousand likes and thank you’s!!
Great job Maria!
Toyota Landcruiser FTW!
Great documentary 👍
This Canadian man here, absolutely believes in the value and strengths that women yield and cannot state enough how much the respectable ones should be treasured more than any precious metal, stones, minerals or what have you! I also believe that about respectable men!

Very heartbreaking but informative and inspiring. Ladies so poor with no money but extremely wealthy in spirit and self respect.

Hat's off to Maria 🤠 for her hard work and her ambition for people in poverty.
But it feels so bad 😞 for the deforestation in jungles. It's very bad thing for humans as well as for nature too.

Beautiful documentary, thanks
Shout out to Toyota from Taliban to Maria these things never fail.
these are the types of videos that make my mind strong
It is very paintfull to watch the cutting of these beautiful trees..his short sighted view of the his future because the clearing of the forest is not renewed.
Got excited thinking it was a new episode and not one I've seen already
Here watching again ☺️☺️ i simply just have a great passion for this show.
It is rightly said hard times make strong men and women...... mad respect...
Truly an enjoyable documentary 😇🙏🙏🙏 I love it may theses ppl keep believing that better will come 🌏🪐

What an amazing documentary? The people are just wonderful. They seem to have so little in material things. But all the things that really matter. Health & Love they have in abundance. I adore this feisty lady what a woman doing that journey? Greeting. Campers

Enjoyed watching here
Interesting documentary Toyota must reward that woman
To be fair, I'm pretty sure 99% of the men didn't even know it was a woman driving when they honked at the vehicle going slow on the fast lane, they would've honked for a man too.

Disrespect for women needs to stop. Women birthed us all!
Maria and Lourdes are 2 awesome women who take risks for their people and I totally respect them both.
