It's another epsiode of Was It Any Good, as chosen by you the fans. This time it's Mr Kennedy (Anderson) for his TNA run starting 2010 all the way up to 2016. He was hailed as a future star in WWE but it all went wrong when Randy Orton and John Cena complained to Vince Mcmahon that he was dangerous in the ring. So when he arrived in TNA he had a point to prove. But was he any good?

Your first sponsor congrats
Speaking of Eddie, Kennedy was the last person to wrestle him and umaga
Where did you find that basement dwelling, flippy loving mark to be in your commercial? Did you have to venture into its habitat?
You going to do Giant Gonzalez anytime soon?
@@matthewhenningervonada9914 yea wcw or wwe?
Can’t believe you didn’t understand the Peter griffin ‘ahhhhh, ahhhhh, ahhhhh’ reference in his post match promo. It was solid gold. 😂
To be fair not everyone watches that show.
Yea, he literally said in interviews that he wanted to emulate Family Guy. No wonder I couldn't stand his ass...
I absolutely love how Jarrett makes his way into your videos by pure coincidence yet its also a running gag
Dread it, run from it, Slapnuts still arrives.
@@Th3Kingism this made me laugh harder than it should have
Not really a coincidence. Jarrett inserted himself into everything TNA hence why it’s a running gag.
More JJ on this channel than Zubats in Mt. Moon
@@dmdeign7116 No repel is keeping slapnuts away
Regardless of whether or not you like him, Mr. Anderson’s run was horrifically booked. He turned heel and face so many times that nobody knew what to think of him a year into his tenure. He also never had that defining run with the WHC, although he did have two short runs with it in 2011.
I liked the guy, heel or face. Orton did him dirty imo.
@@a_fuckin_spacemarine7514 he was done after he got popped for roids near the time of the Benoit fiasco
He was a tweener
@@KidTonyGaming I think you mean tweaker.
@@quentinkaasa47 tweaker?
I used to enjoy Mr Kennedy, His entrance with the microphone was one of my favorites at the time
I don't remember many Heels that announced that they are from ..... Greeeeen Baaaaaayyyy Wisconsin, that right there made him different from the rest
That was the only reason people liked him and thought he was better than he was.
@@quentinkaasa47 Not really. His feud with undertaker was awesome back in the day.
@WeGoku yeah because he had Undertaker at his peak to carry him.
The angle feud was interesting because anderson was in the army before he became a wrestler
The post match promo where he sucks his teeth and says ow is a spoof on a Family Guy bit I’m pretty sure 😂 there’s a recurring bit where Peter falls and smashes his knee and does the same thing
I like him a lot, he has what most modern wrestlers don't have, which is charisma and personality that at least to some extent allows the character to survive devastating loss, but even that has it's limits. I think he's great, he's a lot like Grandpa Flair where I don't really care if he wins or loses as long as he entertains, but they did stretch it too far. Ultimately he's someone who really needed a booker who was looking out for him because without direction he just ended up floundering.
You didn’t mention it, but the whole “ooh ah” grunts of pain in that first promo was referencing WWE claiming he was injury prone
Dude, congratulations on the sponsorship! That's awesome!
Thanks bro. I refused to work with any sponsor that wouldn’t let me be funny 😂
@@Markyd123 Same here! It's the way to go! Sponsors are awesome when they let you be you

@@stpatrick0248 I found his channel a few months ago and have been binging it ever since, it's awesome
The crossover we needed to have!
15:26 speaking of Steve Austin, everyone not wanting Anderson to wrestle because of his concussion is like when Vince was trying to keep Austin from wrestling after his neck was broken in '97.
Mr.Anderson had huge potential And actually start off really hot when he first came into TNA/impact wrestling His feud with Kurt Angle is arguably one of the best in company history All of their matches, especially their lockdown match, is one of the best cage matches I've ever seen. Afterwards is really where it starts to get really bad he won a world title but after that It was all downhill Aces and Eights really killed it for me for him.
It's strange i actually remember liking Mr Anderson in TNA, i forgot he was booked so poorly. He could of been something really big, he was over with the crowd and could deliver a good comedy promo. I think something which held him back is he just didn't take anything seriously and lacked some intensity. If he actually tried then maybe he could of made it back to the WWE, get in better shape like Drew McIntyre did
Yea pretty much when you do comedy for so long it’s going to be hard for anyone to take you serious
@@Markyd123 unless you are Joker
That Mr. Kennedy as McMahon's son would have been pretty good if it actually happened. I did like that gimmick of him introducing himself. And I had a CAW that was a complete rip-off of him named Mr. Hash, except unlike Anderson, he wasn't pushed hard.
Oh, and speaking of how a TNA run proved WWE right...* gestures at Damien Sandow *.
I remember Kennedy wrestling Undertaker, and it was obvious Taker was working his ass off to make Kennedy seem like a real threat.
Kennedy was pushed way to far to early .
Taker knew how to get a guy over and he had a good eye for talent
And to Ken's credit, he was on his game too. That was a great feud. I know Ken liked being funny and goofy, but he worked much better as a serious heel I thought. He was great when he got all angry and intense.
Yeah I remember Kennedy feuding with Taker and Kane feuding with MVP and they had a tag team match which was huge for both Kennedy and MVP.
I would like to remember Mr Kennedy's WWE run too!
His low diving Swanton was kinda low key alright in my mind
Him and RVD were the reason why I started watching TNA in 2010
RVD totally phoned it in in TNA. He was noticeably much more switched on when he returned to WWE a few years later. I lost a bit of respect for him for that. I'm sure TNA paid him quite well at the time too.
Hardy's TNA WHC belt looks suspiciously similar to the WWE Diva's belt...
That intro was oscar worthy, i did not even know that man was the hawk lol
Nobody else talking about it haha.
Mr.Anderson doing his impression of Peter Griffin falling over.
To this day I'm still pissed about Mr. Kennedy being released and not becoming WHC.
Issue with Kennedy/Anderson is he just never seemed to be too motivated all things considered. When he actually was invested with something, he was a net plus to the program but when he didn't care he didn't do much to hide how little he cared.
The fact that TNA had a lot of shotty booking with him did not help.
Lack of motivation? Maybe in your opinion bruh
Can't be motived when they bust your balls at every turn
@@dante666jt No shit it's his opinion. He didn't try to say otherwise.
No it was lack of good booking. He was a beast and would body most modern wrestlers on the mic
Mr. Kennedy had me double-taking his name too.
Anderson’s and Eli Drake’s paths just missed each other In impact. Those promos would’ve been great
Omg imagine. Lmaooo
Dummy, yeah!
It almost piss you off knowing how great it would’ve been. I really wanted to see them cross each other
Mr Anderson was the best thing happening in Impact during those first couple of months. Ended that godawful Abyss undefeated streak, amazing feud with Angle and pointed out how much of a dumb clown Jeff Hardy is. Totally buried the dimwit with two-minute promos, week in week out. Still one of my favorite runs in wrestling ever.
Mvp and Anderson could of been the next big things but wwe didn’t want it that’s it they are both amazing
He was good during his early years of TNA. Then he just became another guy
I don't think it mattered what he did; every time he claimed to be from Green Bay, Wisconsin, he got some level of booing, so the crowd were never completely behind him...
Mr Kennedy Anderson couldn't catch a break in TNA and WWE I never realized how disappointed in TNA was
I never realized he lost so much. I was just so happy to see him
Holy shit dude like a brick to the head you made me remember he stole Jeff's move and called it the Kenton Bomb 🤣
That Magic Spoon intro was pure gold.
Problem with Kennedy in WWE is he was very injury prone and he also got suspended when his name came up in the Signature Pharmacy Scandal.
He wasn't "very" injury prone, he just happened to get injured at the worst possible time, and the prognosis on how long he'd be out for was completely wrong which cost him his push.
The first time I ever saw Mr Anderson on TV was when he went to AAA back in 2010 at a ppv called Rey De Reyes where he was in a triple threat match against El Mesias and Electroshock for the Mega Championship
I see u are a man of culture wrestling taste
Yo Marky I got a one for the suggestion box, how about Spike dudley's Cruiserweight run in Smackdown before he got released in 05
Kennedy had 'go away heat' with me from the moment he debuted in WWE lmao. He has such a punchable face and his character was so abrasive that I didn't even want to see him get beat up, I just wanted him to not be on my TV any longer.
Looking back, I can appreciate his ability on the mic and he was a good worker, but at the time he made me want to watch something else whenever he was on.
I will admit, if cereal could turn me into The Hawk, I'd eat cereal again.
Great video! Looks like Mr. Anderson got the ultimate "cab driver's slam!"
Suspiciously missing: the Jeff Hardy impersonation at 18:21 🤣
Even watching as a kid I never thought Mr Kennedy was any good in WWE. He always felt like a midcarder.
Mr. Anderson from 2010 to 2011, is my favorite version of Mr Anderson. Segments, feuds & finally winning a World Title. Awesome to me personally. Also his Aces & Eights run was good too. He was more of an Asshole than before lol.
Mr Anderson could have been a big deal in TNA, he started off quite good but then it got lost in the mess of Hogan, Flair and all the Hogan boys
*105K subscribers and a good sponsorship. PROUD of you Mark!*
AW MAN!
Thanks bro
I had no idea who Mr Kennedy was when he joined the WWE.
I _STILL_ had no idea who Mr Kennedy was when he left the WWE.
I loved the asshole gimmick, it was very entertaining. That said he should’ve probably got a few less losses to get legitimacy.
When you said that storylines involving concussions and delaying their chances of getting into the ring, it comes off as a bad taste given that Mr Anderson's time in TNA 2010 was three years after the death of Benoit
Well it actually caused tna to ban unprotected chairshots so at least something good came from it. Left that bit out though apologies my friend!
I guess his problem was that TNA had more focus on in ring work. He was a great promo and had charisma for days but he was never the best in ring. The feud with Angle was great but Angle could drag a good match out of anyone.
In saying that TNA didn't exactly give him much to work with.
Never watched his TNA run but i always enjoyed Mr. Kennedy (Kennedy). He was entertaining in WWE and memorable (i still do the Kennedy chant from time to time) but got the short end of the stick. Was he a main eventer or ever going to be? No, but i think he could´ve had the career Miz is having being a solid midcarder for most of the time while occationally getting a WWE Title. He wasn´t the worst wrestler in WWE at that time but Orton and Cena opened their mouths and gone he was.
Eh the thing is the Miz goes 100% be it losing to a random celebrity, or winning the world title. When Kennedy/Anderson was on he was in a main event program he rose to the occasion, but if he wasn't being pushed he was pretty much a waste of everyone's time. If WWE wants the Miz to figure out a way to sell and put over a 10 year old child - he can do it, and at least make it somewhat entertaining. To me Kennedy needed a great storyline, a great opponent, or else it just felt like he didn't care and wasn't interested
It was not exclusively their fault. He even said himself that he had made a lot of mistakes backstage, and had done a lot of things he shouldn’t have done.
I wish you were able to show more of Anderson's promos in this video Marky. There was a great promo between Anderson & Hogan w/ Immortal which Hogan says "You really are an asshole!" And Anderson puts on a fake sad face and takes a bump 🤣
He's one of my all-time favorites.
The guy in the advert looks like the virgin time keeper from NWA TNA
Ken Anderson is an incredible talent. Awesome in the ring and out. WWE knew this at first.
I was 11 and changed the channel whenever he came on smackdown lmao
I loved Mr Anderson in TNA/IMPACT, but they did him dirty on his way out
He had a match with Gunner that was so dire (it was during the time when Samuel Shaw was with Gunner) that the fans hijacked it with chants such as Adam Rose’s theme song
The second iteration of the Mr Anderson/Samuel Shaw feud (after Shaw was released from the “funny farm”) was terrible
In the World Title Series , he came last in his group
Plus a random talk show called “Huh?” that I think lasted one segment
I know Anderson ruined it himself by failing that drugs test and getting fired , but TNA don’t half now how to ruin their talent sometimes booking-wise🙁🙁🙁
Why did they chant Adam rose‘s theme
@@ugh9596 It was either because the match was terrible (I saw it on TV) or the ending
The hawk being a chad is absolutely legendary most wrestling fans look so bad it makes me ashamed to admit I love wrestling
The magic spoon advert was genius, I wanna be like the transformation 😂😂
The 920' kneedrop should be a finisher and not a setup move...thats flippin' crazy .
Can't believe I have now just seen the voice behind The Hawk?! Love these videos dude! The video series on Jeff My World Jarrett and Jeff Hardy's stoner friend cameos are GREAT!
I'm thinking of 3 teams from the mid 2000's who'd be perfect for Ring Of The Hawk
1. Mexicools
2. Highlander
3. Animal and Heidenreich
Not gonna lie, I'd be down to watch all 3. I remember The Mexicools and The Highlanders but I've never seen Animal team up with Heidenreich. Were they a full on team?
Mexicools on Ring of the Hawk would be awesome. Loved them both in ECW.
i was in my early teens and the most memorable thing from Mr. Kennedy was the Survivor Series Qualifier he had vs Eddie Gurrerro (Eddie's Last match). The post match where he chair shotted the shit out of Eddie after he out smarted Kennedy to win. I was not aware of all the details back then but I always thought back then that Kennedy played a part in Eddies passing becuase that chair shot was bruital.
He’s connected to that and Cena’s first big injury (although he didn’t cause either thing).
@@TimTE01 and Umaga's last match before he died as well
Loving that you got a sponsor xD and i think it's the best one i've ever seen :o
Anderson coming in felt major at the time
I don't remember Anderson losing so much in 2010 and 2011,
Mr ANDERSON, ANDERSSSSOOOONNN
Mr Anderson vs Double J Jeff Jarrett.
The Mic Check Vs The Stroke.
Who can make an already weak af finisher even look weaker?
Find out tonight only on TNA Impact!
Heyo you got 100k+ subs! That's pretty awesome man. Been subbed since you had ≈180
A lot of guys were held back and not allowed to show their full potential in WWE, but Ken Anderson is one of those guys who actually thrived in the WWE system. In TNA, his comedy was goofy midcarder stuff. In WWE he had a real mean-streak which worked better for him.
You get a thumbs up just for the intro/advert. Pure gold!
Guy signed (with angle) the best TNA match ever. That's enough for me.
I always really liked Mr Kennedy/Anderson. He was someone I was actually happy tna got from wwe along with Bobby lashely around the same time. Sucks they booked him so badly, but man that kurt angle fued was great.
I loved the advertisement. Its nice to see you evolving as a youtuber.
Loving these videos keep up the good work
My favorite Anderson vs Shaw feud moment was
Shaw: What are you doing in my bedroom?
Anderson: You wanna explain this?
Shaw:I SAID WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY BEDROOM!!??!!!??!!
When he started calling himself Mr.Anderson I was like wtf? That doesn't even sound right!
That magic spoon ad was honestly really fucking good, that transition was gold
His Ow promo sounds like Peter Griffin when he falls down
This guy should return to WWE
Congrats on sponsor Markyd well deserved
I would like to see a video on Eric Young's world championship reign.
Proud of u mate.i dnt even watch wrestling but ua doing a great job.keep it up
Not gonna lie I kinda miss Mister Kennedy I wish he would come back
He’s in Nwa stil wrestling I believe
It's good to hear he's still going and I gotta give Ken some slack you can't have motivation if they keep cock blocking you at every turn
Congrats on the sponsorship, love the advert!
That funeral is, for my money, the best skit TNA ever pulled off. Emo Bully Ray stunk it up at the end, though.
All I remember about Mr. Anderson in TNA was when he dressed up like Sting. When he was in the Aces and Eights. And when he was feuding with Sam Shaw.
Shoutout to the Homie Mary! Hope the day is treating you right
YO congrats on the sponsorship!
I wanna see him do one more final run with wwe before he retires with wrestling
He was my favorite in wwe and tna impact I loved his mic work
Multiple things played into Kennedys WWE release
Injuries
Backstage heat
Orton/Cena
Steroids
And talking about the Benoit murders
He’s gone on multiple interviews stating everything I just wrote
I think Mr Kennedy/ Anderson is a good example of great talent, but poor booking. He was charismatic as hell, and while his moveset was simple he made it work. Ken was a great heel that could be funny and even likeable but never became too likeable that you supported him over the face he was trying to put over.
His problem was constant and unjustified face/ heel turns, being written off tv and creative just clearly not having anything for him to do. I remember a lot of people calling him CM Punk lite, and to be fair it was true to an extent, but I never saw what was wrong with that. He played the role well and if you're a discount version of the hottest wrestler at the time that seems more like a pro than a con.
Loving these videos
I love your videos . Keep putting in that work champ
I actually watched this when it happened. I really liked Anderson in TNA.
Oh, I thought the ads implication was that the cereal made him bust, I'd have bought it for that. Maybe.
To quote Mr. Anderson: "Thank God I'm an asshole!"
🤣 I swear Talk Is Jericho is sometimes sponsored by Magic Spoon too!
I just love it when a wild slapnuts appears
