I have a couple of bits to get through today, firstly is an official response regarding Scream 7 and its status from a member of the core four - which I really wanna discuss with you. Then we have some leaks and speculation that I am desperate to hear your thoughts on. Then we also have an alleged outline on when we can expect something more official from Spyglass/Paramount.

I think it’s entirely possible that Neve had influence on Spyglass execs to have a meeting with Melissa. Neve didn’t had power when the 6th movie was in the making, because they had a lot of characters and a thriving franchise. Now, when it’s falling apart, I think they realize that Neve’s involvement is going to make the movie somewhat profitable. And that’s why Neve might be in a position to dictate her own conditions.

In scream5 and scream 6 they opened up the possibility for Ghostface fan cult. richie, Amber and Jason showed that there’s people who are will to kill for the stab movies just to make better stab movies
Whether Spyglass makes things right or give their rights to a better horror property, is yet to be determined. I believe there is some hope for the Core 4 and the Legacy 4 ( Sid, Gale, Mark and Kirby) to return for one final Ghostface battle. Since Scream 3 took almost 3 yrs, It would cool for Scream 7 to do a 30th anniversary film for 2026

I want Melissa Barrera back to the Scream franchise
I still say in 7 we need an all out blood bath. Bring back every single surviving character over the series and no one is safe. Half if not almost all the core four die, Kirby, Gale, Mark, etc. really go at it with all the oldies, some newbies who are massive red herrings, only to discover that in the end GF is a complete stranger to everyone and this is how we learn of a GF cult to set up for future films.
I do feel the Carpenter sisters story wrapped up pretty well in 6 that we wouldn't necessarily need them, but still open to their return.
Also I've said this before, and I'll say it again, it would be pretty epic to see Macaulay Culkin step into stream 7 and be linked to Charlie from Scream 4
I don't know... I absolutely loved all your perspectives, but I truly think Neve Campbell has had more influence in this decision than we all believe. She left on her own accord because of disagreements with how she should be compensated for her role. That’s power in it of itself. I mean, Everything leads to SYDNEY PRESCOTT. I really want to believe Neve tore Spyglass a new one (as she should) over how they treated Melissa Barrera. This was like the first real dire situation we've seen from this franchise, because it's unanimously a joy and family oriented on set, throughout all the movies, which is why it was entirely shocking to us as the fanbase. Spyglass may have had the reconvening on the table, but meeting with Neve might have made it happen sooner. That’s my take, though! I love your channel. ❤

Melissa was big reason I went to theaters to watch Scream 5, 6. The Scream cast 6 was one of the best ever.

I really doubt Melissa would be that forgiving to be honest, and if she was I'd be truly shocked, plus, as I've said, I believe the rest of the Core 4 actors wpuldn't wan tto return either because they are most likely going to be on her aide and want to support her.

I'd love if Neve was negotiating for Melissa. The way it's out there is that spyglass is desperate to win over public opinion without making themselves look stupid and also make a ton of money. Without making a bad scream movie, not because they care about scream but because they care about money and if they make a bad scream 7, they won't be able to make a scream 8 and they'll actually lose money. So they seem to think Neve is their ticket to that and 3 meetings with Melissa now, who they fired?!? With Neve also still having chats with them? I still think it's important for them to get Jenna back. But if they get Melissa back on board, I don't think it will be hard for them to get Jenna back on board. The scream gods are at work. Lot of love for the casts of these movies and how they conduct themselves with each other and with fans outside of their set pieces. They seem to all be really fond of their work and who they work with. Best franchise for many reasons ❤ ps, your channel is fantastic. I like the others. They come up as recommended but you're the only one I subscribe too.

Well, either way, I'm glad to know that Melissa may or may not come back. It's unfortunate that it takes this long for any updates, though. But questioning if they're going to cancel, continue, or move forward with the core 4 cast, and/or Sidney are extremely annoying. But like you said, all we could do is play the waiting game.
All I know is they SHOULD bring back everyone. I want to see an awesome generational team of Scream survivors fighting for their lives together. I really enjoyed the vibes between Sam/Gale/Syd in the last two. If all survivors come back, then the new GFs should target all survivors making every death count with super high stakes. Oh and the new villains can be racist gatekeeping assholes because that's what I see a lot of in the comments and would be nice to see them defeated onscreen.
What if all of this was just a huge publicity stunt? For 2 reasons: To protect spoilers from leaking like they did in scream 5 and 6 (6 was real bad). And to mimic scream 3’s development hell like scream 5 mimicked Scream 1 and 6 mimicked 2.
What if they are actually secretly filming Scream 7 as we speak? They are trying to throw us off about who’s coming back and what not (especially the speculation about Stu), but how cool would it be if they just surprise dropped a teaser trailer and said oh btw gotcha! And it releases soon after?

Ok. First of all, you have nothing to apologise for. You leave clear disclaimers about what is official/fact and what is unofficial/rumour, so anybody that wants to misquote or twist your words to make out that you’re not a reliable source only have themselves to blame.
Secondly, if the case is true and they are in negotiations again with Melissa, I would be so torn as to what to do if I were Melissa. Do I stick by my principles and maintain my self worth by continuing to refuse to return, or do I honour the fans and finish the Carpenter sisters’ story for the hell of it and then move on with my life? It’s such a shitty decision to have to make 😢
I personally really really want the core 4 and the legacy 4 to return to scream 7. So I'm just going to sit tight and hope that that, or something close to that happens.

The Core 4 , to this day lame and incredibly forced. The filmmakers forcing that we are supposed to love these characters and there the new , better Sidney , Gale & Dewey . Please they will never be that bring Sidneycentric storyline forward with Gale & Kincaid. Beyond the Mask , you still remain the one of only 2 CZcamsrs i go to for HONEST & TRANSPARENT information , the other being Craven Something Scary , two genuine people . Unlike most of the others that CLAIM , THEY HAVE INSIDER INFORMATION , BUT IT'S ALL LIES TO SEEM AS IFTHEY ARE IMPORTANT OR RELEVANT . I didn't know that supporting a bunch of rapists is "politics". I want all of my favorite movies to have lead actors who think that Islamist murder is wrong, rape is wrong, and starvation of hostages is wrong. But if Melissa's back I won't get that. Studio screwed up badly and she has all the power. If she does come back, I hope she gets truckloads of money. Hope the other two out of the core four benefit as well. Their colour shouldn’t matter but obviously it does to some people if they have to point it out and congratulate it as if it’s a big achievement. They actually mentioned this in Scream2 with Maureen complaining there was no black people in horror movies

I hope Spyglass will continue to remind us that the metoo movement should not exclude Jewish victims. Because it seems like so many fans believe in metoo unless the victim's a Jew.
I’m more interested to seeing if Neve Campbell is going to return just hoping that she will, hopefully spyglass will come to their senses and pay Neve the money that she deserves and yes i do hope that Courtney Cox will come back also along with the possible return of Patrick Dempsey.
I think if the fans demand it, they'll come back but it'll cost Spyglass, big! I don't think the fans come back without both Neve and the newer survivors coming back. If Spyglass wants to do 7 they'll have to go big and pay big.

Sam is so representative of me and the world and the inner angels vs. outer demons thing and the traumatic effect that has on the human race collectively. This arc was so well done in my opinion. Both her and Sam & Tara. Their relationship and the Core 4 remind me of my actual positive connections in so many ways and I’m so grateful to the OG cast but also fully confident in Melissa’s ability to carry this franchise forward, hopefully with Jenna and the others when the timing is right. She is such a kind soul and knows when to speak out on positive issues and that is all I truly require to be capable of seeing the good in someone ultimately so I love her.

If the Spyglass executives agree to pay Melissa Barrera a decent salary and allow her to stand by her remarks on the Israel-Palestine conflict, she should agree to return. Many of the fans very much want her to be in this movie.
Also, if Scream 7 were being filmed now, in Montreal, as had originally been planned, there would be a snowy setting, as there was a snowstorm in Montreal a week or so ago. It is very frustrating and disheartening that Spyglass did not follow through with its original plans for this movie.

Spyglass has really dropped the ball with the Scream franchise. Firing Melissa Barrera over her freedom of speech was ridiculous and uncalled for. And letting Jenna Ortega just walk away knowing how valuable her name is to your movie was just a dump move. Hopefully Barrera and Ortega do decide to come back and finish their story however.
I hope they don’t come back. It’s funny how they were quick to “support” Melissa and quit but when it came to spyglass doing whatever they did to Neve no one cared. I hope they sell this franchise to a better production company that actually knows what to do with it.

Love the character and actress BUT I hope she does not come back I'm willing to sacrifice a couple hours of entertainment so that real life consequences can be dealt out to those who deserve it being those at the studio that fired her in the first place, nothing's ever going to change in the Cesspool that is Hollywood if people are so willing to forgive and forget for the sake of spending a couple hours at the movies.. the only thing we as the little people can do is not give our money to these Studios it's the only way they ever learn and not having Melissa in the movie will help ensure they make less money🤷♂️

I personally hope that everything can be worked out and that the entire cast comes back with a pay raise assuming that Scream 7 gets made with them. After the film's release then Spyglass should sell the rights to Scream because right now despite what they (Spyglass) think their actions have caused bad P.R. for them. Their best course of action is to give the cast what they want to get them back to make Scream 7 and then sell the rights afterward. They really shot themselves in the foot by thinking that their talent wasn't important especially Neve Campbell they wouldn't have Scream if it wasn't for her years of hard work.

What Spyglass needs to understand is what makes Scream so different than most horror movies is that the franchise gives you characters you actually care about. This is key because it ups the stakes when they're are placed in danger. They should be doing everything in their power to woo back the core four, Neve, Courtney, Hayden, and even bring back Patrick. It would be a shame to throw away all that has been built so far.
Anyways, it's a great video as always. Even when you ramble, you are still making good points. You are my only go-to for Scream content.

Mindy should have died only in 6,because her injuries in 5 weren't that bad,but in 6 the one she got was still survivable,but her running around at the end made it unbelievable. I can get over Chad not dying in 5,but in 6 combined with what happened to him in 5,it is unrealistic. Tara not dying in the opening is realistic and a freash new take in the franchise because not every person in the opening needs to die. Sam as a survivor is realistic,but then again she had a lot of plot armor, especially in scream 6.
