- So it's the 20th Anniversary of Xbox, and to celebrate, I decided to buy a BRAND NEW SEALED Original Xbox console from eBay! This Xbox console is awesome, and I'm excited to open it up. This one is even a special holiday bundle that came with 3 games. And like I said, this console is SEALED, so I'm the first one to open the Xbox console up. What's your favorite OG Xbox game??

Do you have an OG Xbox??
Maybe (at least i have the OG XBOX controller for xOne/Series)
Nope but I want one!
I used to have a OG XBOX
No, but thinking of getting one.
Yes
I used to love copying my CDs on to the console and listening to them on the radio in GTA III ☺️
Lol, if i got one i would of done that.
Whaaaaat??
yes sirrrr
Yes sir... listening to linken park while playing forza
Death metal in GTA 👌🏽
Those game's on the back of the box just bring back waves of nostalgia.
The coolest part is that somebody who bought this bundle in winter 2005 can play their copy of Fusion Frenzy in an Xbox Series X today
So amazing to see a brand new one.
Your very lucky it boots as those old units have a capacitor that's used to keep the real time clock and they are well known to leak and damage the board, I 3 og xbox's and they all have failed capacitors in them, im in the process of cleaning and repairing the damage on the boards.
Have to admit I nearly cried when you cut the seal on the box.
Back when you can just pop a game in and go… no downloading and installing bs
and when game updates were only 3-6mb 😌
@@rade_ yes 🙂😜
Do you mean digital only consoles, it’s not “back when” there’s still modern consoles with having to insert a disc.
@@rade_ No, that’s not about right, they weren’t that small but they were small compared to now because the console has less storage and there was worse internet than now.
@@steve_2024 I mean back to the Xbox original and 360 days when you can pop In a disc and hop in right away without downloading games even when putting the disc in it still has to download which doesn’t make sence
Popping that thing open took me back to Christmas 2001 when I got one brand new, first model. Opened that bad boy to play... Blinx! Hard to believe twenty years have gone by since then. I was still in high school and still a console gamer! Twas a genuinely good memory from back then.
I bought one of them sealed in Italy for 20$ last year as the seller didn't know what he was having in a joblot xd
Dang that's cheap lol
Bhe un po' strana la cosa
It's PAL anyway, so not nearly as valuable as this NTSC unit. Who, in their rightful mind, would prefer 25fps (sometimes with stretched audio, even) over 30? Because of this, the moment you break factory seals on a PAL console, you reduce its value to pocket change.
20$ per una og xbox non aperta, stranissimo, io ho comprato una ps2 solo console, cavi video e un controller a 40€
@@jrob0021 and you just paid $900 for yours. Man, I really appreciate your content.
Back then, I was into next gen technology like any typical kid, but when the 1st lockdown happened, it hit me. I was filled with nostalgia and I couldn't stop getting into it more and more. So in Thursday 15th October 2020, I got my first PlayStation 1 games, Spyro the Dragon and Gran Turismo 2. A couple months back I went in my loft and got my mother's N64 and Sega Dreamcast. That's when it really kicked in, as it was not working I restored them and boy did they change me. Sure I got emulators like Dolphin, Project64, PS2 etc but this really hit me. I now prefer 1980s- 90s way more than nowadays. You guys got the best consoles. I do have an Xbox 360 so I can play Xbox games luckily.
Get ready for all the audio glitches the backwards compatibility has on 360.
I agree 💯
I have a PS1 too! I agree with you.
@TheRealLoganYT Well, sorry you miss out on a lot of greats that aren’t bc like Gunvalkrie.
Those were the days. I miss going to Toys R Us and checking out all the video game consoles and games. I still have my PS1 that my grandma bought me from Costco 😆.
The widescreen mode actually wasn’t zoomed. The Xbox was made to play on a widescreen tv.
Lol thx. I was questioning myself after I said that but just moved on
I was a PS2 gamer back when this came out but I still like looking back where it all started for Xbox.
As a collector of everything Xbox, good on you for opening this time capsule, i honestly don’t like leaving these sealed, I like handling the pieces in my collection. I display all of mine on shelves and display the boxes as well.
Xbox live was around 30 or 40 a year
So you destroy any OG packaging. You’re not a great collector. People don’t want your used stuff collecting dust.
@@lindensd6273 cry about it
@@lindensd6273 hes a collector smart guy not a reseller like you
@@Smosh842 opening old original sealed packages for the sake of it is wrong
Props for opening this. I'm sure alot of people are angry that you did but you know what, you only live once so why not. I was a PS2 guy as well so I missed out on experiencing the OG Xbox Live. I'm glad there is an attempt to bring it back.
People who keep them sealed and let them collect dust over years are psychopaths
@@milk-ub9zo i got a brand new PS2 and I never hesitated opening it and playing it it’s legit too good of a console to just not use it when it’s in perfect conditions it’s the closest I’ve found to a time travel machine for me
I used to get it, but now knowing what I know about electronic decay I don't. In a few years time this thing likely would have been corroded from those shitty clock capacitors. These things are ultimately meant to be opened and enjoyed at the end of the day.
@@winlover37 the one in the video is recent enough to not have the problem - only xbox made before a date have that issue.
@@xBINARYGODx Generally speaking yes. There are still some 1.6s out there with failed capacitors. They'll all eventually fail too
Bought one recently off eBay for around £20, replaced hard drive, added a mod chip, replaced clock cap as it was bulging and added a Wii hdmi port inside. Well happy with it.
Nice price
@@jrob0021 bro did it still have that new console smell!
@@jrob0021 better than $888?
Your channek must be doing well now since you can buy new old stock like this. Great video. Love watching this kind of new old stock unboxing video because couldnt afford to do.
Thanks for the video, really cool! Was Playstation myself back then. We had to use a MultiTap for four player games like NBA Street VOL.2. Nice to see that XBOX had four ports built in...
You got a sub from me! I have an OG 1.0, clock cap removed, softmodded with Rocky5 and a 160GB HDD. I got it on launch day 2001! I hope you enjoy the future days with your ogxb!
Had the ogiotinal Xbox back when it was current and loved it. Didn't own a PS/2 or Gamecube. First Gamecube experience was backwards compatibility through the original Wii.
This was a great find man!!
Yes sir, I have many OG Xbox consoles including a new never used Halo edition, CIB Mountain Dew edition, Crystal Clear edition and a few OG consoles that we used for Halo multiplayer LAN parties. Never sold a single OG Xbox. They take up a lot of space LOL
Lol I bet they do. I have a few right now and they are monsters. Although not as bad as a ps5 tbh
Dude save the mountain dew one FOREVER that thing to buy it back then was about 100 bucks... AFTER GETTING 550 MOUNTAIN DEW POINTS ! The fact that you have it sealed means it's worth at least 1 grand dude.
Next up, we’ll have to wait exactly 1 year on this day for the 20 year anniversary of Xbox Live.
Dude is ur pfp a Wii?
@@kyleiscoolr yea it is, late response
This was nice to watch 😄
Looks like this Xbox was made in 2005 so it shouldn't have the leaking time capacitor issue the older versions did.
Is that the case? My OG is from Oct 2003 and never had this leaking capacitor issue.
@@mrjones29 you probably have it and it hasn't eaten through your power and reset paths on your motherboard. Two Xboxs I have worked no problem but the clock capacitor was leaking on the motherboard on both.
@@joerose2414 Don't you start jinxing my Xbox 😅 It will survive. I only use it very sparingly to play Deus Ex Invisible War, Manhunt and True Crime Streets of LA nowadays, anything else is in the 360 and SX🥳
@@mrjones29 Where's your XBONE bro?
@@umamifan hmm? is there a joke at the end of this question?
I think we had a PS2 but I got a Gamecube myself an I loved it a lot. Great times, great times..
You probably know this but there's possibly a leaky clock cap inside that should be removed before it eats away the motherboard. Awesome video never seen a sealed one
Happy Xbox’s 20th Anniversary 💚💯
Did it still have that "new console" smell? :D
Hello, you!
This is the only generation where I had every console. I had the GameCube, PS2,Dreamcast and XBox. Great memories and my favorite console generation.
The Best part of your unboxing was when U hooked it up and it Worked 👍 👍
Absolutely beautiful.
Back then it was my favorite console.
Now days i love them all.
I LOVE the design of the OG Xbox. By far the coolest looking console of all time!
Wow, Amazing, thanks for sharing!
Wspaniała sprawa trafić nowego Xboxa. Sam nigdy nie miałem nowego. Bardzo fajnie oglądało się jak to kiedyś wyglądało. Dziękuję za prezentacje.
Great unboxing.
Sweet pick up. Might break my OG out for 20th celebration 🍾. It's still a fantastic console.
seeing this 21 yr console brand new never used it gaved me a smile on my mouth and nostalgia
Good video dude keep up the good work 👍😀
Technically that console is only 15 years old or so because Forza Motorsport came out in 2005 so it could be 16 years old but definitely not 20. I bought mine 20 years ago with the Duke controller it's massive but it's awesome. You got yourself a great system and if I were you I would not open the three games because they're pretty valuable when they're sealed but that's up to you thanks for the great content
I was just playing The Suffering yesterday on my og Xbox, a well made system indeed.👍🏿👍🏿
Gotta love the games inside
got this about a year after it released, and boy did those memories stick with me, i still remember all my games LOL
I have one I repaired, a HALO edition, one planned to be modded and one in need of repair still! Never had one in it's day, picked up OG XBOX just a few years back and absolutely LOVE it!! And i'm jump on the (what i'm sure are tons of) comments about removing the clock battery! Also, YES. It sucks to open something brand new and bust all those seals and pull the feet... but it's not really optional!
I bet that bonus game on the front of the box is a sticker. They just threw that game into an already existing 2 game bundle. It's a lot cheaper for them to add a sticker to the box rather than redoing the artwork for the box. Not to mention they probably had a large amount of the 2 game bundles sitting in a warehouse ready to go.
I remember picking up my cousin not telling him what we were doing so I could buy it on release day from Futureshop.... I spent over $1100 bucks canadian that morning buying it, the component high def pack, extra controller's, dvd playback package and a few more games... Didn't regret it at all had the best time playing Halo that morning with my cousin....Absolutely great memories playing xbox when it first came out....Thanks for the blast to my past....
best is you exchange thermal paste and see what revision xbox it is,also change the clock capacitor if its a v1.0-1.5
I never owned the OG Xbox back when it first launched, because I was just a kid with no money. I did own a ps2 and had a blast with it. I never really felt like I was missing out back then by not owning the Xbox, because PS2 user base was so massive and it had tons of games to play.
Really wish we could relive a moment like this
Exactly 2000 to 2010 were just 😘😘🥰🥰 I miss it so much 🥺🥺😭 2022 sucks 😏😏😔
thank you for letting me relive this. i was 15 when i got my xbox original.
Ps1 and 2 guy in the 90s, early 2000s. This is an awesome video.
I just bought mine about a week ago, love it
Great video, keep it up!
Thank you
I really wanna have an original xbox! It looks so buff it is amazing!
I had a Gamecube as my first console growing up. Then transitioned to the PS2. I was never lucky enough to own an original Xbox, but I think I lucked out with the other 2
5:06 ah yes the OG xbox packaging with a pic of Jason Segel and Bill Hader playing Halo
My order brother got one of these for his birthday near launch. Somehow of all the consoles I owned, nothing compares to that OG xbox that I used more than he ever could!
Takes me back seeing this, I remember buying this day 1 and playing Halo all day with my friend co-op
Imagine getting this BRAND NEW xbox and having an unused disc drive that will last you another 15+ years😍 My disc dive is failing atm 😢
I still can't get rid of mine, not many games I play on it because the 360 handles most of the games I have but it's just a great piece for the game room
I was also in the Playstation camp, but I had an Xbox like this one, the same package, got it right after Christmas 2005. Still have it somewhere.
I had this exact holiday bundle.. so nostalgic
Man I was drooling this whole video. It’s literally 10/10 condition
Mech Warrior kept me up many a night when the xbox first came out:) S Controller was a game changer.
I had an OG Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube! I had this cord that let me plug them all into the same av connector.
I recently got the Microsoft AV Advanced pack that has optical audio and SVideo. That’s my favorite way to play an original Xbox on a CRT.
Happy birthday Xbox!
I give SoulCalibur II my seal of approval! (But the problem is I had experienced that game on a PS2 Demo Disc)
you should probably replace the clock capacitor before it burst and destroys the motherboard, and also repaste the cpu and gpu
By the looks of things it may in fact be a 1.6 which had the clock capacitor removed from the design entirely.
@GRIFAbyte101 actually XBOX 1.6 motherboard have the clock capacitor (Which you should not remove on 1.6 as it will give the XBOX an error code) but it was upgraded to prevent any leakage at all.
So it dropped in 2001 so you got the one from 4 years later with halo 2 etc thats pretty awesome great video
Amazing video thank you 😍 i love xbox
Nice push of videos!
During lock down I went hard on all my ps2 games with my kids all the tony hawks, g hero, my game cube I’m on timespliters 2 and super smash, it was a great winter
when you started to open the console it felt like my whole stomach turned. but it was a great video!
Mine as well haha
I would guess the first thing that may go awry is any battery inside - this would mean the settings may not save, but it might be okay for a while. I'd think if it was a 20 year old version it might have the issue, but you may be okay, as it is a newer version. Just saying.
happy 20 years
Is this the version that does not have that doom clock capacitor anymore? Did you test it to see that your Xbox keeps set time?
You might want to remove the time capacitor because it's been known to leak over time on the motherboard
My first xbox was a 360. Was a PlayStation fanboy until that point. Got to the stage where I realised it doesn't matter what you play. From then on I bought a PS3, 360 and play whatever feels the best for the time.
I would love for more gamecube videos
I was a GameCube guy but I used to love watching my dad play his og Xbox back in the day. I remember he used to play this game that had 50 cent in it
50 cent bullet proof
Street Vol. 2 is my childhood.. haha
I had an OG Xbox…totally forgot that there was a remote for DVDs!
Extra lucky, you got a Hitachi drive, which was considered the best DVD drive in the Xbox.
I agree with u. Hitachi drive while it’s a rare drive, it’s generally considered to be the most reliable, I heard many people back in the day they said Samsung Drives are the best, but sadly I have pretty bad experiences with Samsung drives for some reason and can’t find a good working one. For some reason I thought I had better luck with the newer Phillips Drives (2003-2005 ones). I would say the hitachi drives and the Phillips drives had the least chances of failure rate and are pretty reliable DVD drives for the OG Xbox.
@@santanajohns5816 Yeah it's sad how we have to resort to finding the best DVD drives these days :/
2:45 still better than dial up tho lel
that og start up got me thinking about halo 2
ayyy nice, i just got a one s again two weeks ago
they produced ps2 all the way up to 2013, and u could literally buy them in 2014 too, since they were still in stock
i remember playing the og xbox i always played fifa 07 on there but i dont have it anymore but i have played all of the playstations
This was one of the last OG Xbox consoles made . The Xbox 360 was released later that same year Nov 2005 .
So technically since this was a 2005 holiday bundle it would've hit store shelves with the 360 .
I used have an og Xbox years ago, sold it,just like a n64 and dreamcast, dream cast, regretted it ever since
This is memories adore, how do you have so much money??
That's it. Time to get my OG xbox from my dad's house.
Yeah this is interesting to see. Besides one person everyone else I knew were GameCube / ps2 people
It probably says included 2 games because one of the 3 games was packed In with system so probably got it by just get the system with out the bundle
Bought mine 7 months ago and my friend who i bought it from claimed that there’s no games. But when i got home and turned it on, i opened the disc tray and i found a game in there, a rare one at that, Def Jam Fight for NY , i essentially got it for free yay me lol
I would recommend removing the clock capacitor if it isn’t a 1.6 model. The capacitor could have already leaked if not it’s only a matter of time before it does and it could ruin the console. I understand if you don’t want it opened but the capacitor is referred to as a ticking time bomb and not an if it leaks but a when it leaks
Matt KC viewer I see
I had a ps2 sliver edition brand new in 2005 i was. 6 years old best feeling ever
I was one of the friends who owned a ps2. Everyone else had an xbox lol so i didnt get to really experience and xbox until my halo 3 xbox 360. However about 7 years ago i picked up an original translucent green halo xbox and was able to restore it. Fast forward to now and im replacing its capacitors because they are beginning to rupture. But still an amazing console for its age
The Packaging you got is from the 2005 holiday version, not the original 2001 version.
Gamecube and Xbox were my consoles growing up
Has the Samsung drive, originals had the Thomson drive which had the jamming problem, later Philips were good, samsung came in for the last year of production. I had one with a Samsung and now one with a Philips made in late 2003.
Not sitting 20 years it sat 16 years technically since you got the 2005 model still sweet though and the early models had the red rings so would be risky same with early 360s
Happy anniversary Xbox
