- Magic Springs and Crystal Falls are the largest amusement park and water park respectively in Arkansas. Located in Hot Springs, this is a beautiful theme park with a unique albeit small ride lineup. In this video, I countdown the top 10 dry rides at this theme park.

Fun fact, The Gauntlet was originally built for Six Flags New Orleans (Jazzland) but the sale was never finalized and Magic Springs bought the coaster.
I heard that.
I love the AR twister and the brain drain and the log ride
Nice!
@@CanobieCoaster thanks so much
X-Coaster's the scariest thing Arkansas related besides "having information that will lead to the arr....ummmm, never mind I said that, I saw nothing" lol.
I like how the painful headbangers are now being painted in the same color now. T-3 looks really sharp in red, I like the yellow too.
I agree that or Brain Drain is the state's scariest ride.
Omg this is my childhood theme park 🥹
Nice!
I enjoy looking at the old place the mine train ran at Six Flags St. Louis when riding... Nice to see where it went. it's a classic mine train setup for sure.
Sure is.
My family enjoyed our visit back in 2020 but Arkansas Twister was down that day. Our time was also cut short bc of rain. Cute little park
I've heard Arkansas Twister can be tricky to ride.
This park definitely needs some new thrills in both the dry park and waterpark.
Especially the dry park.
❤❤❤❤❤me and my 2 kids will consider this as one of our next trip getaways!
Enjoy!
100% agree with #1 after just riding it on Monday it was insane
I could say it is an improvement over their previous drop tower which was an S&S Doubleshot, in terms of thrill anyway
Brain Drain is awesome.
The reason Twister is on the other side of the water park is because it was built there in the 90s. In the mid late 90s the park was closed and abandoned . Some one bought the park in 99 built the water park then opened it in 2000
Ah ok, thanks! I figured space was a big reason.
What I especially like about your videos are that you add proper subtitles. While some of the words have been changed for some reason the subtitles are really nice to follow!
I have a script, but I don't always read it word for word.
One of the many reasons why canobies the 🐐
I think this park could benefit from a new owner, some new rides, maybe another standout. I think something like a schwarzkopf and some sort of sally shooting dark ride would do wonders for this place!
You prob only said Schwarzkopf cuz mindbender closed
A true standout coaster would be nice.
@@micoasters i was more thinking something like a shuttle loop lol
Yes!!! A classic Schwarzkopf is needed here! More than any park...
On my first visit in 2017 (for a Sabrina Carpenter concert), I didn't know that I was supposed to hate Vekoma SLCs, not that I knew anything about manufacturers or the differences. Gauntlet was my favorite in the park, finding it to be perfectly smooth with no headbanging, while the Batman the Rides would give me a little headbanging. Then I heard on youtube that I was supposed to hate Gauntlet. So when I returned in 2020, I just couldn't force myself to hate it. I still found it to be super smooth, & it still edges out X Coaster for my favorite coaster. But Brain Drain did replace it as my new favorite ride in the park.
I did get to do most of the waterslides on that 2020 weekend, which also included a Zach Williams concert. The waterslides were a lot of fun, even if nothing was a huge standout. But with some decent rides, slides, concerts, & a beautiful setting, it was a very fun park to visit, especially in June 2020.
I didn't realize Gauntlet had the better wheel assembly prior to riding.
I actually worked at this theme park. I'll tell you about the rides on this list in my perspective working there.
1. Diamond Mine Run. It is by far the worst ride to work. No one wants to get stuck there for the dayand whoever is unlucky enough dreads it. The carts all have their own mechanic to raise and lower them, which is already tiring enough, and the mechanics are often really hard to pull out which is very tiring. The brakes are kind of finnicky. And the fan to keep the workers cool in the heat isn't very good so people are always overheating at that ride.
2. Bumper Cars. This one is alright. It's easy to operate and there is a roof over it so your not sitting in direct sunlight. The floor is absolutely filthy because they can't clean it with water and the cars are kinda heavy so my arms always get super sore when I get put there. Otherwise though it's pretty fun to watch everyone drive around the track and have fun. Especially during Magic Screams which is a Halloween thing they do for the entire month of October every year.
3. Gauntlet. I actually really like working Gauntlet. It's not as difficult as x-coaster and there really isn't much to it at all. The only hard thing about it really is the limited vision I have with the other operator when the ride is in the station. You kinda have to do your best to look in the spaces between the cars at each other. And it's one of the ones with air conditioning which I absolutely love.
4. Looney Ballooney. I can't give any insight on this one because it's been down for a few years because they've been waiting on a part for it, but riding it was always incredibly fun. My brother and I always went to that ride first before riding anything else. It was like our little tradition every single time we went there.
5. Plummet Summit. Plummet is.......definitely not my favorite. I got put on that ride for 2 months straight and now I hate it with a passion. Besides my personal feelings for it though, it not hard to operate and it's pretty great because there is a constant breeze flowing through so you don't get too hot. I hate the people down there though. There is a park rule that you have to have shoes, shorts, and shirts on to ride the rides and when a person in line is told they need to be wearing those things to ride, they act like you killed their pet or something. It's annoying but what can you do?
6. Twist N Shout. I have no memory of this ride at Magic Springs and know absolutely nothing about it.
7. Arkansas Twister. This ride is alright also. Again, the people are super annoying and they're constantly coming in wearing nothing but bathing suits, even though there's a sign as they come in telling them they need clothes on. It is in a pretty awkward location compared to the rest of the rides and I always get so tired from checking all of the restraints because there are so many of them.
8. Hawk. This one is right up there with Diamond Mine for the worst ones to work. It's directly in the sunlight and there is no shade and the fan is pretty small also. The platform is kind of curved so your constantly walking up and down from one side to the other. Also the restraints all lock and unlock together so if you need to unlock the restraints for any reason, then you have to start the safety check ALL over again. Also it's a very technical ride so it's not balanced right, even by the smallest fraction, it'll malfuction.
9. Big Bad John. I actually enjoy working this one. It's fun to interact with the guests and there are really too many incidents with the guests on this ride. It's quicker than it feels when your on it and so we can usually get the line moving pretty quickly. There's also a pretty good view of x-coaster from there.
Arkansas twister is the only ride built by Micahal black, who also worked with coaster works. So it’s the only one of his left
Cool!
Michael Black also founded RCCA

The gauntlet is the perfect name for an SLC right up there with mind eraser
Yes it is.
Great video ❤
Thanks!
A park that needs more investments. They have an SLC which is something I don't completely hate on but that's almost the best here. Their Maurer Sky Loop is unique as it's the only one in North America but it's still a very short ride. And a wooden coaster that I have heard is absolutely forceless. I would go here for the amusement park but the water park seems to be what has better for other people. Especially as Arkansas best park, they can do better. Although it's cool they have one of SFSTL mine trains.
I'd love to see this park get more investment. Seems like the water park is their bigger draw.
You were quite lucky to have been to the park when Arkansas Twister was open.
Especially on a stormy day no less!
@@CanobieCoaster Not as rare as Desmo Race being open, but Arkansas Twister is very often closed.
🌟
Thanks!
What did you like more, arkansas twister or gauntlet?
Arkansas Twister.
Are you posting your top 100 again this year?
Yes towards the middle of this month.
Magic Springs is overdue and has the space for 1-2 moderate coasters...they tend to lean on their concert lineup year to year but I'd rather drive 3.5 hours to Silver Dollar City than 1.5 hours to Magic Springs... Come on Premiere Parks...move older coaster coasters here...
I wish they got more investments.
Today there is 6 cars in razorback round up
It's unfortunate they don't put more cars in there.
Arkansas Twister was one of the roughest rides I've ever had when I caught a chance, easily my least favorite ride right now lmao. One of the weirdest ride lineups ever, at least they got the Larson tower
I definitely didn't have that bad of a ride.
In terms of all of the other parks nearby, does this park have a promising future in terms of future attractions of the dry park. Also why are there only FIVE bumper cars for an amusement park? That would make sense for an FEC.
I hope they get some more investment on the dry side.
Number 1A: the car ride leaving the park
Ouch! I thought the park was fine.
@@CanobieCoaster I can agree the park has a great backdrop with the greenery so it looks nice from the outside, but I wasn't impressed with how it was ran
@@thequackenscoasterchannel2927 this appears to be the big complaint I hear about it. I keep going back and forth on getting season passes because they’re on sale now for the price of a day pass, but if I pay the money and never want to go it feels like a waste…
While this park is good it’s not really underrated the only dry ride keeping this park good is x-coaster
I just wish it was in a more accessible location.
It's like a crappy world's of fun
I prefer Worlds of Fun for sure.
@@CanobieCoaster I prefer world's of fun with a giga or RMC. Hopefully that's our next investment, Lord knows we have the room. I'd even settle for a gurstlauer infinity or a intamin launch, vekoma Bermuda blitz, chance hyper GTX. I think we get another huge steel coaster before 2026 with the world cup coming to KC.
I think a big flat like a scream and swing or zamperla disco is inevitable, all our flats are a bit dated.
Looney balloony is no longer active
They removed it? Darn. It seemed fairly modern too.
They didnt remove it, they had to order new carts for it and they won’t arrive until next season
Sound pretty mediocre park, not one to visit as a tourist
If you're in the area, it's worth visiting.
See in RCDB:
Arkansas Twister at Magic Springs
GhostRider at Knott's Berry Farm
Those are two wooden coasters. So what would you think about them to ride again?
GhostRider is far better in most areas.
And would you like to go to this park again?
And to ride Big Bad John in all rows and cars?
Big Bad John is way better in back. The park is decent.
