- Official remastered HD video for 'Lost In France' by Bonnie Tyler.
Bonnie Tyler's second single 'Lost In France' was her first hit, making number 9 in the UK, number 3 in Germany and number two in South Africa in late 1976.
The track appears on Bonnie debut LP, 'The World Starts Tonight'.
Lyrics:
I was lost in France
In the fields the birds were singing
I was lost in France
And the day was just beginning
As I stood there in the morning rain
I had a feeling I can't explain
I was lost in France in love
I was lost in France
In the street a band was playing
And the crowd all danced
Didn't catch what they were saying
When I looked up he was standing there
And I knew I shouldn't but I didn't care
I was lost in France in love
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
I was lost in France
And the vines were over-flowing
I was lost in France
And a million stars were glowing
And I looked round for a telephone
To say 'baby I won't be home'
I was lost in France in love
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
And I looked round for a telephone
To say 'baby I won't be home'
I was lost in France in love
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing
Ooh la la la ooh la la la dance
Ooh la la la dancing

Why can't more pop music be this quality? There's so much garbage. 95% trash, 5% gold.
This came out the same year as Convoy and Disco Duck

Everyone talks about Total Eclipse Of The Heart but many of them don't talk about her older songs. Can we take some time to appreciate them?
I agree with you. Many people must understand that Bonnie is not just Total eclipse, she has made many other songs before and after total eclipse, some even more beautiful
Je les apprécie à leur juste valeur ;-)
@@Heimrik01 Да, я тоже ценю их такими, какие они есть
i dont know why it never occurred to me to lookup more songs because all her songs are great
I agree, and this is my all time favourite from her.
This was one of my dads favourite songs. He passed away last week and I just wanted to listen to it again. Thanks for the memories. I hope you’re listening to this dad.
Am sorry for your loss. Hope you have such good memories.

Мне 64 года, когда-то мы услышали Бони Тайлер вместе с моей мамой, случайно по телеку, она простая женщина, но мы в неё влюбились...! Обожаю!!! ❤
Бонни Тайлер - хорошая певица.
I have said this before, and I will say it again voices like Bonnie Tyler’s don’t come around that often. It’s rare that someone can sound different after there first single and still be able to sound great like she does..
A true gem💎 !
jehaustin - Spot on Brother!
Agree , her voice is unique . Just like Axel Rose for Hard Rock

I have not heard this song in so many years, was fantastic to hear this again. Thank you Bonnie Tyler 🙏❤️❤️❤️🌹
I love this song. I didn't know she sang it.
Beautifull lady ,and a wonderfull voice
Hello, How are you doing?
Such a fantastic voice and such a fantastic song .. it surely had been a while since I have heard it tooo 👍👍 a great video ..
🍃🌹❤🌹🍃🥰
I was born in 1975 and it was 1994 when I first bought her album 'The world starts tonight'. Since then I collected all of her albums and she's been one of my favorite singers. She's been always so powerful, at the same time so sweet, exotic, and sexy-hey, not only just the way guys usually think. Long live Bonnie Tyler and thank you. :-)

Beautiful voice. Criminally underrated.
Who "underrated" her? No one I know!
Not by me!!. Great singer
Obviously not an 80s kid.definitely not underrated
@@stephencarpenteri2223 She was never underrated but, this is not the voice that made her a legend. Her famous voice was after her surgery

I just stood there in the morning rain.
What a beautiful line.
The one time you don't mind the rain ...when you are in love and in a daze. A beautiful timeless song beautifully sung by Bonnie.
Me too
a brilliantly well written song...the chords just flow into eachother...the melody is simple...cliched...and superb...3 great hook lines in one song....genius...very well sung too. totally late 70s. bonnie looks so 70s pretty too...a perfect time capsule of a song.
Yes, it is quite a good tune. The song does have that polished late 70s pop sound, which The Eagles and a number of other artists in the LA area helped popularize. Its rhythm section rather reminds me of "It Never Rains in Southern California" by Albert Hammond. Moreover, the opening sequence is almost identical to the signature lick on The Crystals' 1960s classic "And Then He Kissed Me." A compelling sound, to be sure.
@Mark you wouldn't say no, bird-brain.
@@bobhebel4116 haha,,,i didn't pick up on The Crystals lick..but you're spot on...good man :-)
I never knew Bonnie Tyler sang this song or that it even existed. I only just heard it the other day on a radio station that plays 60s - 80s music. Its my new fav song lol. Bonnie was being interviewed by phone about this song and the album. Who knew? Obviously not me even though I love her music. The Radio Station playing this song is Radio 1116 4BH in Brisbane Australia.
i fell in love with this song in '77 without understanding one word of it. i enjoy it as much today as i did than .
@Chlarie Peace i only learned english in the past 12 months, just to tell you that i'm not related to you and your family
I GIVE THIS SONG THE RARE DISTINCTION OF BEING A MASTERPIECE
Bonnie Tyler is a super example of mid 70s feminine beauty!😍
Now she is a super example of an early 2020's aunty.
No doubt! But I prefer to think of her the way she was 😂
FARRAH FAWCETT MAJORS another one❤
Wonderful to hear this. A great favourite of my husband. He didn't have many but this was one and he actually bought a tape of her singing this . It also reminded him of our motorbike holiday touring in France.
Hello Roberta, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus?
2020 and still wonderful! Thanks for huge talent.
This takes me back to my Seventies, Thank you for the upload this song.
It takes me back to 2013 when I got lost in Paris and ended up visiting the Palace of Versaille because fate... and my lousy tourist skills led me there.
2020, Bonnie Tyler, Still the Greatest..............
i like this
Agree!!!!!
Bonnie Tyler, Still The Worst Since 1983 when she sold out with "Total Eclipse." Before that, She Was The Greatest from 1976-1983(RIP). What a rotten sellout! Oh this new Bonnie singing with Cliff Richard(sort of a brainwashed Cliffhanger or Cliff em all) and she is now a born again Fundie Fundamenalist Bible thumping or Biblethumper fanatical Ruckmanite(a follower of Peter S. Ruckman who the most extreme hardcore fundamentalist today).
@@johnpolitis3956 Sad, no taste in music ..
@@ndog2005 Yes, I do have taste in music. I do listen to and really like early Bonnie Tyler on her first four albums, which are The World Starts Tonight(1977), Natural Force(1978), Diamond Cut(1979), and Goodbye To The Island(1981). They sound very different than Total Eclipse(1983) and after in that the sound is more countrified rock and soft rock with R&B and folk influences and Europop sound as well. It sounds like Kim Carnes in the 1970s when she was a country singer before her hit Bette Davis Eyes in 1981. I also like Kim Carnes before 1981. Bonnie Tyler herself said in an interview that she personally met and talked with Kim Carnes. Bonnie also here sounds like 1970s Rod Stewart.
THE GREATEST DEBUT BEGINNING OF THE MAGNIFICENT BONNIE TYLER !!!
THANK YOU FOR BEING IN OUR LIVES AND MAKE IT BETTER BONNIE
💖🌹
If only people could stay young forever... The fact that it's 2022 and not just her but an awful lot of artist of her time and before her are now at their winter just breaks my heart. Want them to remain the same just like their songs.
The subtle accordion makes this song for me.
Bonnie Tyler sings incredibly beautifully and she is an incredibly beautiful woman.
remember this in 1976 loved it then, and still do today. fabulous piece of music ..
❤😊
Love this one, love France, love French chateaux and love Bonnie Tyler’s voice ! 🍾🥳
Hello Christine, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus?
@@trevorjennings720 Trevor , you’ll be sorry you asked ! The virus is the least of my problems and the reason I’m always on YT which I never even looked at til about a year ago, is that I’m rigged up on chemo for hours at a time as I battle liver cancer ! I’ll also NEVER have anything further to do with my daughter - an only child of 36 years old- and have thrown my cretinous husband out after 43 years of marriage, we’re divorcing !
So it’s nice to think of our lovely holidays in France when. my daughter was little and we were a happy little family !
Hope your life isn’t as traumatic as mine !
Take care
@@christinescarff4920 I’m so sorry you had to go through all this😔. For me, I’m a single father my wife died of Brest cancer 5years ago. I have just one daughter. She’s 9years going to ten. So you see my life is terrible too. But I still thank God each day cos I know he had a plan for me and my kid. I hope you’re having a nice and a wonderful day today?
@@trevorjennings720 Trevor, I’m SO sorry for you loss . Being left with a little girl of 4/5 when your wife died would not be easy. Do you have family support ?
The thing that REALLY angers me is that when I got colon cancer about 12 years ago, I really was cured. A younger cousin of mine died of it too, so I’m sure it has a genetic basis BUT the numpties in the NHS here in England didn’t spot I’m over 75% CELT and I’m certain have genetic HAEMOCHROMATOSIS . I just have to get 2 blood tests done to prove this and then I’m suing 2 sets of GPs with BUPA a party to the claim as they’ve shelled out for my ‘ mysterious ‘ ill health for YEARS.As my oncologist says, ‘ GPs just do diagnosis via google ‘ ! The NHS in the UK NEVER tests for HAEMOCHROMATOSIS. Once I’d had the colon cancer I wasn’t allowed to give blood again ( 68 donations in my lifetime ) so the iron built up and up, for a few months I tried to drink myself to death, then had to have a liver resection and now have tumours on my liver !
Comes to something when I can diagnose myself from a biology ( with genetics ) degree from 1974 better than GPs paid well over £100k per annum !
Look after yourself
Christine

Remember hearing this on the radio. Great memories.
Love this early Tyler hit, which I'd never heard before discovering this video a couple years ago- bravo for yet another great vocal, Bonnie!
Sadly, age took its toll on her (unavoidable thing for humankind) but you're still as BONNIE for me just back the time this song were recorded. Long live you Welsh Queen Of Pop Rock! Love from 🇧🇷!

Bonnie u lit girl.. Love ur music so so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️💯
Dude I'm genuinely shocked. She sounds so different here, she's still a great voice but she definitely wouldn't have been able to make her ballads as powerful as they were without her husky voice
I'm not shocked. It's quite normal to get lost in France...
You have no idea.. She still sings like that
She sounds fairly clean here but when singing Lost In France live her voice became much more raspier even before throat surgery. After the operation she was getting frustrated at having to be quiet and let out a huge scream.
Agreed
