Lyrics;
It's a heartache
Nothing but a heartache
Hits you when it's too late
Hits you when you're down
It's a fool's game
Nothing but a fool's game
Standing in the cold rain
Feeling like a clown
It's a heartache
Nothing but a heartache
Love him 'til your arms break
Then he let's you down
It ain't right with love to share
When you find he doesn't care for you
It ain't wise to need someone
As much as I depended on you
Oh, it's a heartache
Nothing but a heartache
Hits you when it's too late
Hits you when you're down
It's a fool's game
Nothing but a fool's game
Standing in the cold rain
Feeling like a clown
It ain't right with love to share
When you find he doesn't care for you
It ain't wise to need someone
As much as I depended on you
Oh, it's a heartache
Nothing but a heartache
You love him 'til your arms break
Then he let's you down
It's a fool's game
Standing in the cold rain
Feelin' like a clown
It's a heartache
Love him 'til your arms break
Then he let's you down
It's a fool's game

One night, many moons ago on a balmy July night (being the music loving teenager that I was) sitting in the family station wagon listening to music and this song came on, one of my favorites at the time. Then out comes my dad from the house. I just knew he was gonna tell me to turn off the music and for me to get my butt in the house. To my surprise, he sat in the passenger seat and said "Turn it up!" I was kinda shocked because he hated my music lol. That was over 40 years ago and he is no longer here but I will never forget sharing that special moment in time with my dad.
Thanks for sharing your story Teresa
As a Dad, I really appreciated that little story........
Thanks guys, I miss him every single day.
I connected with my mom much the same way over Eleanor Rigby. Thanks for helping me remember, Teresa.

who hurt her, to make such beautiful and touching words and then to give such a vocal performance. I cried so much during each listen and will continue to do so. 70-80s music will always be my heart.
People will listen to this song in 500 years from now.
It was one of my grandmother's favorite songs! She had a long fight with cancer, and one day in the hospital before going to sleep, she wanted to hear this song but didn’t remember the name, and we just remembered the melody! Since we don't speak English, I looked for this song putting all kinds of words that we could remember of it, and searched on 70s/80s music playlists on CZcams, until I finally found it! Everybody was so proud and happy lol! She was very happy, and started listening to it again! I miss her so much, and every time we listen this song, we remember of her!

Not only her voice is very good, but the gestures she makes when singing the song, are very appropriate really. Bonnie Tyler is a great performer.
Yes
Wow!
it is realy nice and hearth break
its called acting
Not to mention she is drop dead gorgeous ❤
Insane perfromance. She sounds like she just cried 5 hours straight before the recording, tears not even dried yet.
That is Bonnie Tyler to a T(as in Tyler)She has a wonderfully gravely voice but it hits home in this song. The listener can feel her pain with her voice and emotional delivery of this tune.
How ridiculous your statement is!

My sister had this song on a single when it was released, she was 8 years old and played it constantly. My parents and I knew every word and note before long. She died suddenly, unexpectedly, in April of 2014. This video came up in my feed; there are many types of heartache and some that never really vanish.
This song brings back so many memories ... I'm pretty sure my mom loved this song ... We lost her in 1979 and to this day I can't listen to this song without tearing up ... one of the only songs I love to listen to and cry at the same time ... because it reminds me of her ...
No other voice like hers. So fitting for this song. The production is an all time favorite. Love the acoustic ringing out front with a great sounding bass and drums. The strings knock it out of the park along with electric guitar parts. I never grow tired of this.
