- I finaly get a chance to install my performance camshafts in my Jeep Dodge Powertech Magnum engine.
You will need to upgrade your valve springs and change to solid lifters to do this. I hope you will enjoy my automotive adventure with me.

I have a BRAND NEW still in boxes set of cylinder heads for the 4.7L w/ used HO cam shafts installed for 800 if anyone is interested just comment on this and we will link up
What country are you in buddy?
Do you still have those heads for sale?
Sir, don't you quit sir, If you're alone know you never truely alone. Stop the self pity man, let the doctors try, What is it that you want to give up? Not that there haven't been times when I wished I was dead or someone would provide me the favor.
I was not talking about giving up life my friend just working of any kind. I love doing things building things inventing things. I have a loving family that needs me. AusPhil Adventures is my other CZcams channel. My wife has* its bor it's bor* before meeting my wife I committed suicide 3 times and succeeded twice but I was resusetated. I wake up in so much pain some mornings I pray the night before not to wake up. The Dr's cannot fix my problem it was a car accident in 1987 so after 20 plus surgeries there is not much hope of recovering at this stage. I'm a big strong man and people judge me as healthy a lot not knowing how much I suffer. But thank you for caring and God bless and keep on jeeping.
Just want you to know I watched your videos often and it inspired me to put ho cams in my 47 which today I will start for the first time. I'm glad you're doing well. I did see your more newer videos. I hope you're doing something for the pain and Australia is far too beautiful. A land to want to leave at least too early
install without removing the intake or fue rail. That cuts the job down to size. especailly If you're not doing your valve springs. I've got a new motor installed so my springs are still solid. I have the new cams. I gotta warn you all, if your timing chain should slip off the idle sprocket the sprockey on the crank, you are royally fucked. You need to be perfect. Do not let any slack work it's way do to the crank and main idler sprockt. Ensure that the chain is tight and that you have the cam ready to apply the timing gear. At that point it better be bang, bang, and you got your shit in a row. The soon the timing gear is on cam, cam installed with a couple caps installed you can then breath easy. IT's so easy to fuck this up.
It already had Comp Cams High performance bee hive springs installed.
@@BuiltByRik I can tell as your engine pulls at least 5k easily.
@@jamesdewer Yes it does and I do it daily. These engines love to rev. I regularly do well over 100kph in second gear. In my next build I plan to build it to rev to 8k in comfort.
@@BuiltByRik Gday, you clearly have either no remorse or a large amount of AUD! you don't fear kicking off a rocker? I have performed the 08 rocker arms. Are you solid lash adjusters? Indeed they love to rev. What's your power band above 3K?
With the torque delete and the cam mine pulls like a rabid ox from 0. I need tp shoot mine but I won't do any pulls until the new Polished ported TB arrives. It's paid for they are making it now. !
with you under medical attention. God bless.
Thank you. I haven't uploaded due to health problems. I wish I was able to upload but I may never recover. I am having a hard time accepting that may end up being the case. 😢
I just did oil pump timing chine kit cause I thought the knock was from the chain slapping but its turns out its a dropped valve seat
Get it fixed ASAP don't drive it as the seat can destroy your engine.
If your a member of Facebook "Home Mechanics Man cave" pm me and I can give you a workshop manual if you need it.
travice buzzell just joined
Ware did you get the cams and how much bigger are they and are they better the the h.o cams
I had them custom ground not available of the shelf. Yes bigger than HO and more powerfull in fact waiting for a stand alone engine management system as the stock system cannot keep up.
256 Adv duration.
@@RikBor about how much did it cost and who did you have do them i have two 99 jeep grand cherokees both 4.7 v8 and want to put bigger cams in one of them and headers but i cant find ether one for my jeep thanks for the reply
Are you aware that by doing this you will have to install solid adjustable lifters? You could try shim the hydraulics but my concern is that they would not cope. Buying the camshafts HO then double shipping to Crow and back plus the grinding wich took a long time as it was custom. It took around 6 months or so it cost me all up around $700. The grind cost about $300 if my memory serves me right. Rik
Where did you get the performance cam from
I had a company do a custom grind for me.
@@BuiltByRik you cant tell us
Please read my replies
@@BuiltByRik ???
@@BuiltByRik I need it
Where did you purchase the performance cams and solid lifters
You cannot buy the camshafts you have to find a camshaft company to re profile some existing camshafts. It took me years to find a company here in Australia to do it. I originally purchased the solid lifters from airram .
U can buy 218 cams from summitracing
Joseph Singer 318
What is 4.7 camshaft netraul position???
The same as all other camshafts at TDC the lobes stick up evenly like a V above the camshaft. Maybe Google it for a better explanation 😂
